Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning methods and students' intrapersonal intelligence on science learning outcomes. This study uses a quantitative experimental research method with a research design using ANOVA Two Paths with Treatment by level 2 × 2. The population in this study was class IX students of SMP N 9 Morotai Island with a sample of 16 students in class IX-1 and class IX-2 students, totaling 16 people. The results of this study indicate (1) there are significant differences in science learning outcomes between students who are taught using experimental learning methods and students who are taught using demonstration learning methods (2) there is an interaction between the use of learning methods and intrapersonal intelligence on science learning outcomes (3 ) there is a significant difference in science learning outcomes between students who are taught using the Experimental learning method with an average score of 91.71 and students who are taught using the demonstration learning method with an average score of 78.39 especially for students who have high intrapersonal intelligence. (4) there is a significant difference in science learning outcomes between students who are taught using the Experimental learning method with an average score of 85.30 and students who are taught using the demonstration learning method with an average value of 73.84 specifically for students who have intelligence.low intrapersonal.

Abstract

Penulisan artikel ilmiah adalah keterampilan penting bagi mahasiswa yang ingin berkontribusi secara signifikan dalam dunia akademik. Namun, tantangan dalam menyusun artikel berkualitas sering menghambat produktivitas dan pencapaian akademik mahasiswa. Seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi, kecerdasan buatan (AI) kini menjadi alat yang efektif dalam mendukung berbagai aspek penulisan ilmiah. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menerapkan metode service learning untuk mendampingi mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan keterampilan penulisan ilmiah dengan memanfaatkan platform berbasis AI, yaitu SciSpace. Melalui service learning, mahasiswa terlibat langsung dalam mempelajari dan mengaplikasikan teknologi AI dalam kegiatan penulisan, yang tidak hanya membantu mereka memahami fitur-fitur AI dalam penyusunan, penyuntingan, dan pengelolaan referensi, tetapi juga meningkatkan kemampuan kolaborasi dan keterampilan praktis mereka. Hasil program menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan SciSpace membantu mahasiswa secara signifikan dalam mengurangi kesalahan penulisan, mempercepat proses penyusunan artikel, dan meningkatkan kualitas karya ilmiah. Program ini berhasil membekali mahasiswa dengan keterampilan teknologi yang relevan untuk masa depan dan meningkatkan kesiapan mereka dalam menghadapi tantangan akademik. Dengan demikian, program ini memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap peningkatan kualitas pendidikan tinggi dan mendukung tercapainya pendidikan berkualitas yang merata.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) melalui penggunaan media alat peraga dengan topik "Panca Indera Manusia." Dilaksanakan di kelas IV SD Muhammadiyah 6 Pulau Morotai tahun ajaran 2022/2023, penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Setiap siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan tes evaluasi, yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam minat dan hasil belajar siswa, ditandai dengan ketuntasan klasikal dari 58,3% pada siklus I menjadi 68,3% pada siklus II, serta kenaikan ketuntasan individu dari 87% menjadi 90%. Berdasarkan temuan ini, penggunaan media alat peraga dalam pembelajaran IPA mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa secara efektif. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar guru lebih aktif dan kreatif dalam memanfaatkan alat peraga guna meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims the effectiveness of the Dogomo Makodo program in enhancing health literacy among elementary school students by integrating physical education, science (IPA), and local wisdom in coastal Morotai. The program incorporates outdoor activities such as traditional games (Ban Laju, Gasing, and Jalan Sehat) and cultural practices like cooking Tabojou, aiming to deepen students’ understanding of health concepts, bodily functions, nutrition, and healthy living habits. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study involved 20 upper-grade elementary students. Data were gathered through pre-tests and post-tests to measure cognitive gains, along with Likert-scale questionnaires to explore students’ perceptions of the program. Results showed a significant improvement in students’ health knowledge and behaviors. The integration of science and physical education provided a meaningful, engaging, and contextual learning experience. Moreover, the use of local cultural elements not only strengthened students’ emotional engagement and identity but also extended the learning impact into their homes and communities. The Dogomo Makodo model demonstrates an innovative, student-centered educational approach that aligns with the Merdeka Curriculum. It is recommended for replication in other rural and culturally diverse settings to support nationwide efforts in promoting health literacy at the primary education level.

Abstract

The P5 training at SD Negeri Unggulan 11 Pulau Morotai aims to enhance teachers' understanding and skills in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) as part of the Kurikulum Merdeka. This training is designed with consideration for the region's limited access and understanding, covering three main aspects: P5 concept socialization, project design, and the implementation of P5 projects in schools. The program is conducted in two stages, namely project planning and implementation, followed by evaluation using quantitative and qualitative methods. The training results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with the average pretest score of 36.5 rising to 83 in the posttest. The first P5 project implemented was themed "Build the Body and Soul," focusing on reforestation activities aimed at increasing students' environmental awareness. The evaluation revealed a better understanding of the P5 dimensions, including values of collaboration, independence, and critical thinking skills. Moreover, the training succeeded in strengthening collaboration among school stakeholders, such as the principal, teachers, and supervisors. With this training, it is expected that SD Negeri Unggulan 11 can independently develop and implement P5 projects that are relevant to local needs, sustainable, and improve the quality of education in the school.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan mahasiswa calon guru SD dalam merancang pembelajaran IPA yang kontekstual dan berbasis lingkungan. Padahal, pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan penting untuk meningkatkan relevansi materi IPA dengan kehidupan siswa serta mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Kegiatan bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa melalui pelatihan eksplorasi selama tiga hari, yang mencakup ceramah interaktif, diskusi, observasi lapangan, penyusunan perangkat ajar, dan microteaching. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 40 mahasiswa PGSD semester IV dan VI di Universitas Pasifik Morotai. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test, observasi keterampilan pedagogis, serta penilaian produk RPP dan media. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pemahaman konseptual mahasiswa (rata-rata peningkatan 23,5%, p < 0,001). Mahasiswa juga menghasilkan RPP tematik dan media berbasis potensi lokal seperti daun mangrove dan batuan pantai. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan teknis mahasiswa, tetapi juga membentuk sikap peduli lingkungan dan kesadaran akan pentingnya konteks lokal dalam pembelajaran IPA. Model pelatihan ini berpotensi direplikasi di wilayah lain yang memiliki karakteristik geografis serupa.

Abstract

Waste management literacy remains a challenge in schools. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the APiK method (Take, Sort, Reduce) in enhancing waste management literacy among elementary and junior high school students. A quantitative pre-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest) was used, with data collected through multiple-choice tests. The results showed an increase in the average score from 70.20 to 76.53. A paired t-test indicated a significant difference (p < 0.05), with junior high students showing greater improvement. These findings suggest that the APiK method is effective in improving students' understanding of waste management through contextual and practical learning.

Abstract

Knowledge about types of waste, waste sorting and its dangers is initial knowledge that must be possessed from an early age. This initial knowledge is part of environmental literacy. School is the most basic level of formal education in Indonesia. So indirectly, character formation about understanding waste management must be given at this level. The application of the principle of waste management, namely 3R, needs to be simplified into APiK (Take, Sort and Reduce). The purpose of implementing this method is to reduce the amount of unsorted waste in the school, thereby reducing the burden on waste officers and the accumulation of waste in the TPA. The training method in this service starts from Socialization, implementation of pre-test, screening of Apik method videos, Practice of making Waste Reduction Products and ending with a post-test. This service was carried out in an elementary education environment with 23 students participating. The entire series of activities have been carried out. Socialization and training were successfully implemented and there was an increase in student knowledge regarding waste management. They have learned how to make vermycompos, styrofoam bricks and Ecobricks. When the post-test was conducted, there was an increase to 81% of students who had understood waste management. This activity was carried out according to plan and succeeded in increasing student knowledge.

Abstract

This study aims to develop STEM-based science teaching aids prototypes through the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model among elementary teacher education students. The research employed the ADDIE development model, encompassing analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Five prototypes were successfully developed using natural materials, recycled items, household objects, basic laboratory tools, and synthetic materials. Expert validation from media and content specialists indicated the products were highly feasible. Students' responses to both the learning process and media were highly positive, demonstrating active engagement, increased motivation, and deeper understanding of science concepts. Effectiveness testing showed a significant improvement in conceptual understanding, with a gain score of 0.56 (moderate–high category). This study confirms that integrating STEM approaches with PjBL effectively enhances pre-service teachers’ ability to develop innovative teaching aids tailored to the needs of elementary school learners.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover teachers' perceptions of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in the 3T (Underdeveloped and Remote Areas) region, focusing on a case study of Juanga Public Elementary School on Morotai Island. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were obtained through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and document analysis. The results indicate that teachers have positive perceptions of the Independent Curriculum because it provides flexibility in learning and is oriented towards student character development. However, limited training, infrastructure, and resources hinder its implementation. A key finding of this study is the utilization of local potential as a curriculum adaptation strategy, which has proven effective in supporting project-based learning in remote areas. This confirms that the success of education policy implementation is determined not only by national policies but also by teachers' creativity in managing local resources. This research contributes to the development of education policy implementation theory and provides practical recommendations for the government in designing more contextual training programs for teachers in the 3T (Underdeveloped and Remote Areas) region.
