Abstract

Meningiomas are the most common benign intracranial tumors and make up 13-26% of all primary intracranial tumors. This tumor can be seen through radiological images and classified through the results of anatomical pathology examination. A 48-year-old woman came from Cileungsi Hospital with complaints of severe headaches in the past 3 days ago. When examined using a CT scan with contrast, an extra-axial mass was found in the right frontal region with prefocal edema around it. This supports the picture of high-grade meningioma which causes midline deviation towards the left. High-grade meningiomas, as one of the aggressive types of brain tumors, pose significant challenges in the fields of neurology and oncology. With its characteristic rapid growth and tendency to relapse, a thorough understanding of its diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis is essential in efforts to improve patient outcomes. This patient is scheduled for craniotomy surgery with a neurosurgeon specialist and found a tumor in the right parietal region with a solid consistency. with the patient's complaint lasting only 3 days, feeling severe headaches, it was found that the tumor image obtained was already large, making it is possible that the final outcome of the disease in these patients is poor due to delays in treatment. This case report shows that early detection of this disease needs to be done considering that the patient's complaints only lasted 3 days, which is not in line with the progression of the tumor itself.

Abstract

Stroke is the second leading cause of death and a significant factor in global disability. Its incidence is highest in developing nations, with ischemic strokes being the most prevalent. Only about 10% to 15% of first-time strokes are Intracerebral Hemorrhages (ICH). Primary hemorrhages make up the majority of strokes, while secondary hemorrhages account for roughly 10–25%. Hydrocephalus is a common complication of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). Additionally, the presence of hydrocephalus can indicate a greater likelihood of poor outcomes following an ICH. This case explains the natural history of subarachnoid and its management outside of developing countries. VP shunts are often used to treat post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus, as was done in this case. Rebleeding after VP shunt placement is common. Therefore, appropriate management is needed to prevent increased mortality. Although proper management requires high costs in developing countries.

Abstract

One of the degenerative conditions frequently occurring in joints is Osteoarthritis (OA). OA is a common form of joint inflammation, the most prevalent one. Individual factors such as age, gender, body mass indices, occupation, family history, injury history, and body posture can increase the risk of knee OA. Knee OA is distinguished based on etiology, namely primary and secondary. Primary knee OA is often associated with genetic factors and natural aging, while secondary knee OA is caused by injuries, structural abnormalities, or other medical conditions. The purpose is to determine the relationship between risk factors in patients with knee OA. This research employed a cross-sectional design involving 56 patients selected through a total sampling technique at Al-Fauzan Hospital. The findings of the study reveal a significant association between the onset of OA and both age (p=0.000) and body posture (p=0.000). Nevertheless, factors such as gender (p=0.535), body mass indices (p=0.705), occupation (p=0.942), family history (p=0.321), and injury history (p=1.000) exhibit no correlation with knee OA. Age emerges as the most impactful factor linked to the occurrence of OA (OR=51.358). A notable correlation exists between age and body posture as risk factors for knee OA in patients. The probability of developing OA increases by a factor of 51.358 as individuals grow older compared to their younger counterparts.
