Abstract

The current health program in Indonesia is focused on improving the health status of vulnerable groups, one of which is pregnant women. This is indicated by the high rate of maternal and infant mortality. One of the government's efforts to overcome this problem is the concept of safe motherhood and antenatal care. During the Covid-19 pandemic, most pregnant women did not get medical check-up because they were worried about the corona virus. Therefore, online classes for pregnant women were conducted. This community service method is in the form of interactive education based on information technology online and offline. The targets are all pregnant women who carry out examinations at the Midwife Independent Practice of Yanyan Mulyani, while the targets for pregnancy exercise and prenatal yoga are 35 pregnant women with a gestational age of 28-39 weeks. The implementation technique is divided into three stages, namely the first stage is to assess the level of understanding of the respondent with a pre test, the second stage, namely the implementation of classes for pregnant women by providing online material and the implementation of offline pregnancy and prenatal yoga exercises, and the third stage, namely evaluating the material with post tests . The results of the activity showed an increase in knowledge to be good by 68.6%. Providing information to the class of pregnant women by the facilitator on a regular basis and carried out every week with different materials makes pregnant women make pregnancy visits and regularly attend classes for pregnant women to stay healthy.

Abstract

Hospitals are one of the health services that are required to improve the quality of services that depend on the ability of human resources (HR). Therefore, planning HR needs must be calculated precisely based on needs. There are various approaches to calculating health workers, including the WISN method, where the calculation is based on workload. The purpose of this community service is to socialize the WISN software from WHO. This activity partnered with three hospitals, namely RSUD Subang with 16 people, RSUD Dr Slamet Garut with 18 participants, and RSUD Kota Bandung with 17 people. The activity is in progress from November to December 2023 and is carried out hybridly. The offline meeting was given a pre-test, then WISN socialization was carried out, and at the end, a post-test was given. Meanwhile, the online meeting invited speakers related to the WISN software application technicalities through the Zoom meeting application. Participants who attended were 51 people, consisting of hospital management. The pre-test results showed a mean value of 8.92 while the post-test value was 11.00, and the T-test results obtained a value of 0.02 (sig >0.05), meaning that there was an increase between the pre-test and post-test with an average increase of 2.29. The workshops and trainings went well. The hospital plans to calculate the workload using the WISN software as a comparison with the existing methods in the hospital.

Abstract

Background: One indicator to reduce unwanted events in the operating room is to implement the filling of the surgical safety checklist (SSC) sheet. Objective: The purpose of the study was to identify the level of compliance in filling SSC in the sign in, time out, and sign out phases at the central surgical installation. Methods: The research method uses quantitative descriptive with an observational study approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 72 respondents. The research instrument uses SSC sheets according to Hospital’s SOP which refer to World Health Organization (WHO) standards. This research has received ethical approval from RS X with number 070/17/Ethical Clearance/RS X/III/2023. Data collection was carried out by researchers and research assistants, namely anesthesia students who were practicing at the hospital. In addition, this data was also checked by the anesthesia management team before analysis. Data analysis uses univariate analysis with the form of data presentation using categorical data, the results of which are frequency distributions and percentages using computer software. Results: The results showed that in the SSC filling the sign in phase had the highest non-compliance rate on aspiration risk items and complicating factors (63%), while in the time out phase the highest non-compliance rate on the estimated length of operation item (90%), and in the sign out phase the highest non-compliance rate on verbal confirmation items of instrument completeness, the number of gauze or sponges, number of needles/other sharp tools (68%).Conclusion: The filling of SSC sheets has not been fully carried out and the filling is done at the end after the operation is completed due to the workload and lack of labor resources. In addition, to speed up the process of transferring patients from the pre-anesthesia room to the operating table. It is expected that the surgery team (doctors, anesthesiologists, and surgical nurses) can be used as input so that the filling of the SSC sheet can be applied according to the sign in, time out, and sign out phases to minimize the possibility of surgical risk errors.
