Abstract

Background: One indicator to reduce unwanted events in the operating room is to implement the filling of the surgical safety checklist (SSC) sheet. Objective: The purpose of the study was to identify the level of compliance in filling SSC in the sign in, time out, and sign out phases at the central surgical installation. Methods: The research method uses quantitative descriptive with an observational study approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 72 respondents. The research instrument uses SSC sheets according to Hospital’s SOP which refer to World Health Organization (WHO) standards. This research has received ethical approval from RS X with number 070/17/Ethical Clearance/RS X/III/2023. Data collection was carried out by researchers and research assistants, namely anesthesia students who were practicing at the hospital. In addition, this data was also checked by the anesthesia management team before analysis. Data analysis uses univariate analysis with the form of data presentation using categorical data, the results of which are frequency distributions and percentages using computer software. Results: The results showed that in the SSC filling the sign in phase had the highest non-compliance rate on aspiration risk items and complicating factors (63%), while in the time out phase the highest non-compliance rate on the estimated length of operation item (90%), and in the sign out phase the highest non-compliance rate on verbal confirmation items of instrument completeness, the number of gauze or sponges, number of needles/other sharp tools (68%).Conclusion: The filling of SSC sheets has not been fully carried out and the filling is done at the end after the operation is completed due to the workload and lack of labor resources. In addition, to speed up the process of transferring patients from the pre-anesthesia room to the operating table. It is expected that the surgery team (doctors, anesthesiologists, and surgical nurses) can be used as input so that the filling of the SSC sheet can be applied according to the sign in, time out, and sign out phases to minimize the possibility of surgical risk errors.

Abstract

Background: The most common hemodynamic complication associated with spinal anesthesia is hypotension, hence the need for fluid coloading. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lactated ringer coloading fluid on blood pressure stability. Methods: This study was conducted using a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study was conducted at X Hospital in the West Java region from March to April 2024. The research was carried out in the operating room after spinal anesthesia and after the administration of Ringer's lactate. The research instrument used an initial blood pressure observation sheet, blood pressure after spinal anesthesia, and after giving lactated ringer coloading with a calculation of 10 cc/kg of patient weight. The population in this study was all patients who underwent spinal anesthesia, and the sample of this study amounted to 60 patients with non non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling. Data analysis in this study used univariate and bivariate analysis. This study has carried out data normality tests and research ethics. Bivariate analysis in this study used a Paired t-test.Results: The results showed that after spinal anesthesia, most (51.7%) patients had hypotension. After being given lactated ringer coloading, most patients (68.3%) had normal blood pressure. Systolic blood pressure increased by 9,750 mmHg, and diastolic also increased by 6,500 mmHg.Conclusion: This study concludes that lactated ringer coloading has a significant effect on both systolic and diastolic blood pressure stability after spinal anesthesia.

Abstract

Abstract. The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is mandatory for hospitals based on Ministry of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022 on Medical Records. However, its application in the Central Surgical Installation (CSI) of Hospital X in West Java still faces challenges. This study aims to evaluate the readiness for completing anesthesia records within the EMR system in this unit. A descriptive qualitative case study design was conducted using the HOT-Fit evaluation model (Human, Organization, Technology, and Net Benefit). Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six informants from various professional backgrounds, including nurse anesthetist, medical record staff, hospital management, and IT personnel. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo 12, and ethical approval was obtained (070/11/EthicalClearance/RSX/III/2025). Triangulation was performed by involving IT staff as the system vendor. The study identified six key findings: user transformation, organizational readiness, technological readiness, technology sustainability, clinical and operational benefits, and administrative and managerial benefits. Results indicate that readiness for electronic anesthesia record completion considered low, particularly regarding human resources, organizational support, and technology. The EMR system is not yet fully integrated, with barriers in training, infrastructure, and inter-unit coordination. Strengthening the system, enhancing training, and conducting regular evaluations are essential for more effective implementation.. Triangulasi data dilakukan dengan melibatkan staf IT sebagai vendor sistem IT.

Abstract

Baros is one of the sub-districts in Cimahi, where stunting is relatively high. Data from the Puskesmas Kelurahan Baros Mekar shows that 43 children are indicated to be stunted. The results of interviews with cadres showed that the community needs more knowledge and insight regarding stunting. Apart from that, there needs to be more public awareness regarding the importance of maintaining a balance of nutrients and vitamins in food. Community service was carried out in September 2023 by lecturers and students at Bhakti Kencana University. The target of the activity is families with 30 children aged 0–5 years. Activities include providing education about stunting prevention by lecturers and the nutrition section of the Puskesmas Cigugur Tengah, demonstrations of a nutritional menu balanced with my plate's contents, and how to breastfeed and wash hands correctly. After that, a stunting screening is carried out. Participants were given pre-test and post-test questionnaires regarding stunting knowledge and filled in data on the child's weight. The presentation of knowledge about parenting patterns at the pre-test was 77.02%, the post-test was 84.02%, the pre-test hygiene knowledge was 99.52%, and the post-test was 100%, while the pre-test sanitation knowledge was 80.37%, and post-test was 87.77%. The nutritional status of toddlers based on BB/U showed that BB was less than 3.3%, very low BB was 6.7%, normal was 76.7%, and the risk of being overweight was 13.3%. It is hoped that increasing knowledge about stunting can be implemented to support optimal child growth and development.

Abstract

Mild morbidity due to pain in the musculoskeletal system often occurs in the elderly and is often treated independently using non-pharmacological therapy. Community service aims to provide education and demonstrate pain management using natural analgesics in the form of coconut clove oil (NYAIH PADI) and acupressure therapy. The activity was held in November 2023 in Nyalindung Village, RW 14, Ganjar Sabar Village, Nagreg District, Bandung Regency with 39 participants attending. The activity was carried out in three stages, namely the stage of making NYAIH PADI, then giving the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire followed by education and demonstrations regarding acupressure therapy and the process of making NYAIH PADI. Next, the product was distributed to participants who experienced joint pain to be used for one week at a dose of 1 – 2 drops per day on the painful part of the skin and then the changes in pain were seen. The location of the left foot and right foot where many people complain is very painful. The pre and post-test results showed changes in the category of very sick, decreasing by 1.32, and sick, decreasing by 0.25. Meanwhile, low-level sickness and not-sickness increased to 0.53 and 0.54. Giving NYAIH PADI has been proven to reduce pain so it can be used as an initial alternative for the community. At the end of the session, cadres and the community were given a YouTube link to the production process via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__kgIp6E2q4. The activity ended with giving door prizes and group photos.
