Abstract

Controlling hydroponic plants, which is currently being carried outmanually, can be said to be less effective because it still involves thehard work of farmers to continuously monitor the condition of thehydroponic plants. Therefore, the general objective of this research isto develop a model that can be used as a recommendation system foractions that farmers need to take based on hydroponic crop conditions. The model formed with this machine learning method will then beused in the Hydromon application which allows farmers to manageand monitor the condition of hydroponic plants and take action basedon the recommendations given. This model was developed using adeep neural network algorithm consisting of five layers with the helpof the TensorFlow framework. The results show that the model isaccurate with an accuracy value of 96.47% on the test data to classifyplant conditions so that it can be used in the Hydromon application.

Abstract

Space phenomena are natural events that are rarely seen by humans and are still a lot of mysterious and interesting things to observe and study. In Indonesia, there are still few places to observe and study space phenomena. The Sumatran Institute of Technology (ITERA) has a technical implementing unit as well as a study program related to space. The units are the Lampung ITERA Astronomical Observatory Unit (UPT OAIL) and the Atmospheric and Planetary Science Study Program. However, these units and study programs do not yet have an information system that can store various space data and display them, especially for the public to see. This is the background for us to do community service for lecturers and students in the form of making the OAIL database system. The information system can be used to store space data to be studied and can be seen by the public. The form of the system is website-based so that people throughout Indonesia, especially on the island of Sumatra, can see various space phenomena. For three months, the information system was successfully created and can be implemented by UPT OAIL, so that this community service activity went according to plan and well. It is hoped that the information system can always be developed and useful for the benefit of learning at ITERA and the community. Keywords: space, database, OAIL, astronomical observatory, information system.

Abstract

APPLICATION OF HYBRID ENERGY TECHNOLOGY: MİCRO-HYDRO TURBİNE AND SOLAR PANELS TO INCREASE ELECTRİCAL ENERGY PRODUCTİON İN DUSUN BATU SAENG, TANGGAMUS, LAMPUNG. Dusun Batu Saeng, Tanggamus, Lampung is one of the areas that utilize the potential of the surrounding natural resources. One of the potentials used is river water which is used as a Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH). However, the source of electrical energy that has been used for 10 years does not appear to be optimal in its utilization. This is because many components are damaged and unfit for use which has reduced their performance. The production of electrical energy from PLTMH is 8 kW which is distributed to 20 houses, this amount will be reduced during the dry season to 6-7 kW. Based on that, it is necessary to replace components such as turbines and generators with a capacity of 10 kW. In addition, during a prolonged dry season, it can also be utilized by installing a 1 kW photovoltaic as a Solar Power Plant (PLTS). Thus, by utilizing water and solar sources, more optimal electricity production can be produced through hybrid energy from PLTMH and PLTS in Dusun Batu Saeng, Lampung. The implementation stages include literature study, site survey, group discussion forum, design and planning, design and preparation, manufacture of PLTMH and PLTS, installation of PLTMH and PLTS, monitoring and evaluation, and final report. The result of this program is an increase in electricity production from 8 kW to 11 kW of hybrid energy from PLTMH and PLTS. It is hoped that in the future this program can be applied to other areas so that they become energy-independent communities.

Abstract

Digital transformation requires a software system development method to identify and analyze user needs. In this research, software system development uses the Task Centered System Design framework with several stages, including identification, needs analysis, design, and evaluation. The identification stage is carried out by conducting interviews with stakeholders, and then the results of the interviews are analyzed and approved by stakeholders. This study aims to obtain user needs to build an application interface by applying the steps of the Task Centered System Design method and usability evaluation and calculating the weight of the feasibility value by testing the Heuristics method and System Usability Scale on the solution application design. The evaluation phase aims to determine the value of the usability problem in the design that has been designed. The evaluation phase uses the Usability Heuristic method by involving experts in the field of software development and the System Usability Scale method involving end users. After conducting research from the identification to the evaluation stage, the average severity rating of the Heuristic Usability test component scored less than 1 (one) in the second iteration, and the System Usability Scale results scored 70.3 for admin and 73.75 for the customer application. This result is in grade C with an adjective rating of Good.

Abstract

The interface of the automatic answer assessment system is plagued by several issues, including an unfamiliar layout, unresponsive design, inconsistency in elements, and a lack of clarity in presenting information. These problems significantly hinder the overall user experience. As a result, this study aimed to address these challenges by designing a user-centered experience for the automatic answer assessment system, using a high-fidelity prototype tailored to meet user needs. The user-centered design method involved four crucial stages: Specify The Context Of Use, Specify Requirements, Create Designs, and Evaluate Designs. Through rigorous usability testing with teachers, the design achieved an impressive effectiveness rating of 90%, firmly establishing it as a "very effective" solution. Additionally, it demonstrated high efficiency with a value of 0.01307 goals/sec, and teachers expressed positive feedback, confirming the satisfaction and usability of the new interface. Similarly, students' usability testing yielded noteworthy results, with a 90% effectiveness rating, also classified as "very effective." The interface showcased a high level of efficiency, with a value of 0.0849 goals/sec. While the satisfaction value fell below the PSSUQ norm, students still found the interface to be user-friendly and satisfactory. Furthermore, the user experience testing, utilizing the UEQ-S, provided valuable insights. For teachers, the pragmatic aspect scored 1.85, the hedonic aspect scored 2.33, and the overall aspect received a commendable score of 2.09, all of which fell within the excellent category on benchmarks. Similarly, students' ratings were highly positive, with scores of 2.14 for both pragmatic and hedonic aspects, and an overall score of 2.14, signifying an excellent user experience. The retrospective think-aloud validation test reaffirmed the positive response from prospective users. Abstract

The growth of the internet globally keeps increasing as time goes. There's a big amount of data type saved there too. Those data need to be secured so anyone who doesn't have the right to access them can access it. The purpose of this article is to secure text information into image media using the Blowfish method for encrypting text information and securing it using the Hash function SHA-512 and then embedded it in image media using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method. The result of implementing those methods using image media sized 138Kb and 39.85Kb with plaintext measuring 27 and 85 characters shows that integrity data is secured with SHA-512 method. The test result using PSNR method to get the score of image quality after embedding information to the image shows that the average number of PSNR’s score is 70,74 dB which means the quality is good and has less difference from the original image.

Abstract

Purpose: In the learning process, most of the tests to assess learning achievement have been carried out by providing questions in the form of short answers or essay questions. The variety of answers given by students makes a teacher have to focus on reading them. This scoring process is difficult to guarantee quality if done manually. In addition, each class is taught by a different teacher, which can lead to unequal grades obtained by students due to the influence of differences in teacher experience. Therefore the purpose of this study is to develop an assessment of the answers. Automated short answer scoring is designed to automatically grade and evaluate students' answers based on a series of trained answer documents. Methods: This is ‘how’ you did it. Let readers know exactly what you did to reach your results. For example, did you undertake interviews? Did you carry out an experiment in the lab? What tools, methods, protocols or datasets did you use The method used is TF-IDF-DF and Similarity and scoring computation.  Theword weight used is the term Frequency-Inverse Documents Frequency -Document Frequency (TF-IDF-DF) method. The data used is 5 questions with each question answered by 30 students, while the students' answers are assessed by teachers/experts to determine the real score. The study was evaluated by Mean Absolute Error (MAE).Result: The evaluation results obtained Mean Absolute Error (MAE) with a resulting value of 0.123.Value: The word weighting method used is the Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency DocumentFrequency (TF-IDF-DF) which is an improvement over the Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) method. This method is a method of weighting words that will be applied before calculating the similarity of sentences between teachers and students.
