Abstract

This study aims to explore students' mathematical critical thinking skills based on belief at SMPN Satu Atap 1 Kabawo. This research is descriptive exploratory. The research subjects were students of class VIII for the 2020/2021 academic year. The instruments used in data collection were test of students’ critical thinking skills, questionnaires on students’ beliefs about mathematics, and interview guidelines. The data collected was then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the percentage of students' confidence of mathematics in the medium category was 61.12%, the percentage of students’ confidence of mathematics in the high category was 25%, and about 13.88% of students’ confidence of mathematics was in the low category. Students with high confidence showed a tendency to be able to solve critical thinking skills in the aspects of interpretation, analysis, and evaluation. Students with moderate confidence tend to be able to solve problems in the aspects of interpretation and evaluation, while students with low categories have not been able to solve problems in all aspects of critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is an important ability possessed by students. However, students' mathematical communication skills still tend to be low. An approach that can help students improve their mathematical communication skills is to use an integrated RME approach with local wisdom values which is also an effort to preserve local wisdom in Indonesia. This research is a quasi-experimental quantitative research. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. Class VII B is applied as the experimental class and VII C is applied as the control class. The data collection method consisted of a test of mathematical communication skills seen from the aspects of writing, drawing, and mathematical expression, as well as the teacher's observation sheet. The results of this study indicate that: The application of the integrated RME approach to local wisdom values has a better effect than the conventional approach on students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the online learning system at SDN 11 Ranomeeto, describe the level of fifth grade students' learning motivation when learning online, and analyze the effect of online learning on students' learning motivation in fifth grade mathematics learning. This research is a quantitative study with a survey approach. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 11 Ranomeeto with 22 students as respondents. Data collection techniques are observation, questionnaires, and documentation while data analysis techniques use descriptive analysis techniques and inferential analysis. The results of the study show that the online learning at SD Negeri 11 Ranomeeto V during the Covid-19 pandemic used the Whatsapp application. The level of student learning motivation is in the (moderate) category. The simple coefficient value (r) is 0.935 which means that there is a very strong relationship between online learning variables and learning motivation. The results of the coefficient of determination (KD) show that the influence of online learning variables on learning motivation is 87.5%, while 12.5% is influenced by other factors not discussed in this study.Keywords: Online learning, student’s learning motivation, elementary school

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan kemampuan yang penting untuk dimiliki siswa agar dapat mengkomunikasikan pemikiran matematika dalam penyelesaian masalah. Namun, faktanya kemampuan siswa masih belum maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di MTs Darul Ulum Ahuhu di Konawe dengan konteks kearifan lokal yang terdiri atas 3 aspek yaitu menulis, menggambar, dan mengespresikan matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penilitian deskriptif. Populasi yang digunakan adalah semua siswa kelas VII MTs Darul Ulum Ahuhu tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siwa dalam konteks kearifan lokal. Data yang telah dihimpun dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa 13,33% siswa MTs Darul Ulum Ahuhu memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis dalam katogori tinggi, 56,67% (17 siswa) dengan kategori sedang, dan 30% (9 siswa) pada kategori rendah. Pada ketercapaian masing-masing aspek komunikasi matematis, sebanyak 88% siswa pada aspek menulis, 57% siswa pada aspek menggambar dan sebesar 51% siswa pada aspek mengekspresikan matematika. Siswa dengan kategori tinggi telah memenuhi 3 aspek komunikasi matematis, siswa kategori sedang hanya mampu memenuhi 2 aspek (menuliskan dan menggambarkan), dan siswa dengan kategori rendah hanya mampu memenuhi aspek menuliskan.

Abstract

Distance learning, which is the only alternative to learning during the pandemic, is faced with various problems that arise in the field. This research was conducted to examine the portrait of distance learning at SD Negeri 5 Ranomeeto and to see the effect of the use of distance learning methods on student learning outcomes at the school. This study employed quantitative research with a survey approach. The total population was 40 students with a saturated sampling technique. Data on distance learning conditions at SDN 5 Ranomeeto were collected through interview and observation methods. Meanwhile, data on distance learning methods were collected using a questionnaire, and data on learning outcomes was obtained from students' daily test scores. Data analysis was carried out by means of qualitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis consisting of classical assumption test, while hypothesis testing used a simple linear regression test. The results of this study indicate that distance learning at SD Negeri 5 Ranomeeto utilizes the WhatsApp application. This learning provides a lot of time for students to take part in learning, but parents consider that the use of the WhatsApp application in distance learning is less effective and students quickly feel bored participating in learning. The distance learning method has a significant effect on student learning outcomes with the t-count value greater than the t-table value (8.818 > 2.024).

Abstract

One of learning media which is using in Problem-based learning that can improve students' conceptual understanding ability is GeoGebra. This study aims to: 1) describe the students' understanding of the concepts of SMA Negeri 1 Oheo. 2) determine the effect of problem-based learning assisted by the GeoGebra application on students' conceptual understanding at SMAN 1 Oheo. This research is pre-experimental research. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Class XI MIA as a research class. The data collection technique consists of students' conceptual understanding tests seen from the indicators explaining, understanding and concluding, as well as teacher observation sheets. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Students' conceptual understanding at SMAN 1 Oheo is in the high category where indicators of students being able to explain abstract concepts into a model have a 100% presentation, indicators of students being able to recognize and understand the main idea of a communication have a presentation 91.30%, and the student's indicator of being able to conclude from something that is already known material has an achievement of 78.26. 2) There is an effect of problem-based learning assisted by the GeoGebra application on students' understanding of concepts at SMAN 1 Oheo

Abstract

Creative thinking abilities are developed through divergent thinking in mathematics learning. This research aims to explore junior high school students' mathematical creative thinking abilities in solving geometric problems, specifically in terms of their overall mathematical abilities. This study is a qualitative descriptive research project. The subjects were 27 eighth-grade students from a state middle school in Loghia District. Data were collected using tests and interviews. The findings indicate that junior high school students with high mathematical abilities demonstrated creative thinking in solving geometric problems. In contrast, students with moderate and low mathematical abilities showed less creative thinking, particularly when answering questions about surface area and volume. Specifically, there were 3 students identified as creative, 4 students as less creative, and 20 students as not creative. Overall, most junior high school students were not creative in their approach to solving geometric problems. They struggled to demonstrate indicators of creative mathematical thinking, such as fluency, flexibility, and novelty.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan menganalisis 4 fokus; pertama, penggunaan teknik penilaian guru SMA di Kabupaten Muna pada masa pandemi dan setelah pandemic, kedua, strategi pelaksanaan teknik penilaian guru SMA di Kabupaten Muna pada masa pandemi dan setelah pandemic, ketiga bagaimana penggunaan teknik penilaian guru SMA di Kabupaten Muna berdasarkan karateristik matapelajaran MIPA dan Non MIPA, dan ke empat strategi pelaksanaan teknik penilaian guru SMA di Kabupaten Muna berdasarkan karateristik matapelajaran MIPA dan Non MIPA. Tulisan ini menggunakan survey yang dilaksanakan pada SMA di Kabupaten Muna, Sulawesi tenggara pada bulan Mei sampai dengan bulan September 2023. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Data yang akan dikumpulkan berupa teknik penilaian yang dipilih dan digunakan oleh guru pada SMA di Kabupaten Muna. Populasi target adalah siswa dan guru pada SMA di Kabupaten Muna yang terdiri atas 34 Sekolah. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling sehingga terpilih 8 sekolah SMA yaitu SMAN 2 Raha, SMAN 4 Raha, SMAN 1 Kabangka, SMAN 1 Kabawo, SMAN 1 Wakorumba Selatan, SMAN 1 Maligano, dan SMAS Ibnu Abbas. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dengan terlebih dahulu melakukan tabulasi dan persentase terhadap jawaban responden. Tulisan ini menunjukan Strategi pelaksanaan teknik penilaian guru SMA di Kabupaten Muna berdasarkan karateristik matapelajaran MIPA dan Non MIPA tidak ada perbedaan yang berarti dimulai dari persiapan penilaian, pemilihan teknik penilaian yang sesuai, serta pelaksanaan teknik penilaian.
