Abstract

Research has been done on plastic waste as a mixed material in the manufacture of bricks.The plastic waste used is Polyethylene Terephlate (PET) mineral water bottle plastic waste.A comparison is made between plastic and aggregate, with the ratio of plastic: aggregate, namely 50%: 50% is A1, 60%: 40% is A2, and 70%: 30% is A3.The more PET plastic waste, the smaller the volume shrinkage with the results A1 = 1268.65 grams, A2 = 1257.08 grams, A3 = 1246.17 grams where the initial weight is 1,500 grams.The water absorption capacity occurs that the greater the water absorption PET, the smaller the water absorption capacity so that the dry weight is obtained A1 = 1257.08 grams, A2 = 1246.17 grams and A3 = 1246.17 grams.

Abstract

Research has been carried out at PT X in managing palm oil into biodiesel products. To get biodiesel from palm oil, it undergoes processes such as purification, transesterification and then methyl ester or biodiesel is produced. The biodiesel produced is a reaction between triglycerides (vegetable oil) and the chemical compound methanol with a catalyst. The company sets the standard for biodiesel to have a maximum triglyceride content of 0.2%. The production data turned out to show triglyceride levels above 0.2% with a very large number of outspec products so this indicates a problematic production system. Loss of quality or Quality Loss Function, this is due to damage in the manufacturing process stage, which will suffer losses, in the form of material, time, energy. At this stage the methanol used per hour is 4783 kg/hour and the catalyst is 773 kg/hour. This data is obtained from the total use of vegetable oil materials in 1 hour which is 46 tons/hour.

Abstract

Research has been carried out on the maximum absorption time of horseradish chitosan as an adsorbent for Hg metal. Next, the characterization of chitosan was carried out using SEM. The maximum flow time was fixed at 5 mL/minute, while the contact time between the adsorbent and the Hg sample was varied at 5,10, 15, 20, and 25 minutes. The results obtained that the maximum contact time between the chitosan adsorbent and the Hg sample was 25 minutes with a yield of 83.27%.

Abstract

Acid Value is an acid value that indicates the amount of fatty acid that has not become an ester in the sample determined by titration. From the eight samples of Oleic Acid that have been analyzed, the average Acid Value is 198.54. It can be concluded that the Oleic sample has met the company standards of PT. X where the Range Acid Value is 197.5 – 199.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk pemanfaatan limbah cangkang belangkas yang berfungsi sebagai adsorben pada logam Hg. Karakterisasi XRD pada kitosan menunjukkan hasil adanya puncak-puncak tertinggi yaitu pada peak di 20,28o; 21,64o; 18,64o. Puncak maksimum terdapat pada sudut peak di 20,28o. Kitosan memiliki ukuran partikel minimum sebesar 6.0326 nm dan maksimum sebesar 33.9043 dengan rata rata sebesar 8.5178 nm. Dengan ukuran seperti ini partikel kitosan dapat dikatakan sebagai nanopartikel. Karbon aktif dan kitosan dalam sifat adsorben terhadap logam Hg dengan menggunakan induktif ditambah Plasma - Atomic Emission Spectrometer (ICP - AES), masing masing diperoleh bahwa adsorben efektif digunakan pada waktu kontak 25 menit kitosan mampu menghasilkan penyerapan sebesar 55,54 %.

Abstract

Bahayanya formalin bagi kesehatan manusia mengharuskan kita untuk dapat megetahui apakah ada kandungan formalin yang umumnya dipakai untuk mengawetkan makanan. Penyalahgunaan ini harusnya dapat diketahui dengan mudah. Untuk itu perlunya alat yang dapat mendeteksi kandungan formalin pada makanan. Penggunaan sensor gas adalah cara tercepat untuk mendeteksi formalin yang dipakai pada makanan karena tidak diperlukan proses kimia yang tidak instan. Sensor HCHO dipakai sebagai piranti mengecap gas hidrogen lalu merubahnya menjadi nilai digital atau sinyal elektrik dan mengirimmya ke arduino untuk diolah dan diproses menjadi satuan konsentrasi gas dalam part per million (ppm). Dengan metode ini dapat diketahui dengan praktis penyalahgunaan formalin pada makanan.

Abstract

This service is carried out at the Layar Da'wah Foundation, where one of its activities is about vocational. So it is very important to know the acidic nature of some food ingredients consumed by the body. The materials to be used using red and blue litmus paper and also the use of pH indicators are carbohydrate-based foodstuffs such as cassava and protein-based ingredients such as eggs, as well as fruits such as oranges. With red and blue litmus paper, you can tell whether the food is acidic or alkaline by placing it on the litmus paper, if the litmus paper is red, it means that the food is acidic, and if the litmus paper is blue, it is alkaline. The pH indicator functions to determine the limits of how acidic and alkaline the food is. Where the limit of the pH indicator between smaller 7 means the food is acidic and greater than seven then the food is alkaline.

Abstract

The Main problem why companies keep raw material in quantities is as a safety stock, in chase of delay in delivery from supplier so the process of production process does not stop. Inventory control of auxiliary raw materials aims to achieve optimal efficiency and efectiveness in the supply of raw materials so that there is no excess and shortage of inventory stock. So this study aims to determine whether the amount of stock the raw materials in PT. PHPO KIM - II has been efficient when compared with the result of calculation by using MRP Method. This study will be done on four supporting raw materials that used for the glycerine manufacturing process are; HCl, Ca(OH)2, Filter Aid, NaOH.
