Abstract

The complexity generally triggers the opportunity of fraud in operation experienced, so that it can potentially be a serious threat which has a significant loss impact for the company. This study focuses on the indications of financial statement fraud committed by commercial banks in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to examine whether the implementation of good corporate governance can reduce fraudulent financial statements activity in banks, using the moderating role of operational risk. The population determined is all commercial banks listed on the IDX for 2016 to 2020. All 25 banks that met the specified criteria were used as research samples. The data analysis technique used the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) method analyzed with SPSS Software. The research findings reveal no significant relationship between Bank governance and financial statement fraud directly. However, operational risk is shown to have a moderating role in the relationship between Bank governance and financial statement fraud. In addition, operational risk also has a function as a predictor concerning fraud. Overall findings of this study are exciting because the interaction between corporate governance and operational risk can influence the company's decisions on the possibility of fraudulent financial statement activities. The benefits of this research are expected to provide input for bank management in assessing the level of corporate governance implementation and response plans for financial statement fraud actions that have a significant impact on high operational risk costs. In addition, it can provide information for regulators in supervising and evaluating regulations related to anti-fraud strategies set in commercial banks and for investors to ensure the security of their investments to increase investor confidence in banks. Finally, it suggested that further research reconsider the concept and size of the study and add new concepts to provide more determinant factors that affect fraudulent financial statements in companies.

Abstract

This research investigates how financial performance metrics influence profit growth amongst firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange's (IDX) LQ45 Index from 2016 to 2023. Employing a quantitative methodology and utilizing secondary data derived from financial reports, this investigation assesses the influence of five crucial financial ratios: current ratio (CR), debt-to-equity ratio (DER), return on assets (ROA), gross profit margin (GPM), and net profit margin (NPM). Panel data regression techniques assess the relationship between these indicators and profit growth. The results show that ROA positively and significantly affects profit growth, whereas CR negatively impacts profit growth. By contrast, DER, GPM, and NPM did not have statistically significant effects. These results underscore the significance of effective resource utilization and cash flow management in boosting profitability. The research offers crucial insights for business decision-makers, especially in refining financial approaches within Indonesia's regulatory framework and market conditions.

Abstract

The study of halal consumption is very important because the halal market is booming and has practical policy implications for stakeholders (such as marketing managers, government and corporate vision). Therefore, this study explores the determinants of the purchase intention of halal products that have been certified among Muslim minority countries in Russia because of the low attention of researchers in the study. So far a lot of research on this issue has focused on Muslim-majority countries. The purpose of this study is to conduct empirical studies by analyzing empirical models of Halal awareness, Halal certification, Halal marketing, Halal habit, Halal knowledge and religious belief in consumers' intention to buy products that are halal certified among Russian consumers. Using a quantitative approach and non-probability sampling design, this study explores information from 216 respondents in one of the important cities in the Siberian region of Russia. From the collected data, 204 respondents were declared complete, then validity tests (correlation of person product moment) and reliability (cronbach alpha) were carried out for further classical assumption test analysis (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation test) to determine data quality. Based on multiple linear regression analysis, information obtained that Halal Knowledge and Religious belief significantly influence consumers' intention to buy products that are halal certified among Russian consumers. Surprisingly Halal awareness, Halal certification / logo, Halal marketing and Halal habit have no effect on their intentions. Finally, Russian consumers believe that consuming halal products is due to their religious encouragement and knowledge of halal products. Marketers need to design a unique strategy to convince consumers that products circulating in the Russian market are halal products that are in accordance with Islamic sharia and meet Russian halal certification standards.
