Abstract

This research aims to contribute to modern business, new work systems, and industrial relations. This research is a longitudinal study involving manufacturing companies. Researchers collected data at two different periods. Researchers surveyed by sending a questionnaire to the company's human resources managers. Research findings show a reasonably strong relationship between implementing new work practices and better company results. However, according to the dominant theory, this result does not always occur in every case. These results indicate a greater focus on small businesses, which play a significant role in the fabric industry. The third result shows the durability or sustainability of individual practices. These new practices have proven effective in improving company performance, which may be why groups are more confident implementing them. Discriminant analysis reveals that firms' structural and market characteristics account for most of the variability in their orientation toward organizational innovation. The intensity of relationships with other companies positively correlates with using new work practices, mainly if the company operates internationally. The competition level in the company's market is also related to the use of new work practices and intense, innovative activities, especially those related to technology and the coordination of activities within the organization, such as information technology.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the challenges and opportunities in the digital transformation of MSMEs, as well as effective technology management strategies. In the digital era, MSMEs face various challenges such as limited financial and human resources, inadequate digital infrastructure, and lack of knowledge and awareness about technology. Nevertheless, digital transformation also offers significant opportunities for MSMEs, including improved operational efficiency, access to broader markets, and the ability to analyze data for better decision-making. Through a qualitative approach with literature review, this research finds that effective technology management strategies are crucial for the successful digital transformation of MSMEs. These strategies include developing a technology strategic plan aligned with business goals, selecting and integrating appropriate systems, and training and developing employees' skills. The proper implementation of digital technology can help MSMEs automate business processes, reduce operational costs, and enhance productivity and innovation. The study concludes that digital transformation is not just about adopting technology but also about changing work processes and mindset to create sustainable added value for MSMEs. With adequate support and well-planned strategies, MSMEs can overcome challenges and leverage digital opportunities for business growth and sustainability.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between regulatory compliance, internal control, management competence, and financial integrity to better understand the dynamics that influence the resilience and performance of Indonesian startups. Our quantitative research uses Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 4) and is based on a stratified random sample of 215 startups from different industries, sizes, and countries. Strong validity and reliability are demonstrated by the measurement model, and good correlations between important constructs are highlighted by the path coefficients. The beneficial effect of regulatory compliance on financial integrity is shown to be amplified by internal control, which is found to be a key mediator. The validity of the suggested relationships is reinforced by the good fit of the structural model. The results of this study provide insightful information for academics, politicians, and startup executives, and offer solutions to navigate the complicated terrain of the startup ecosystem in Indonesia. The results of this study provide useful information for policymakers and startup executives. Maintaining financial integrity requires strengthening internal controls, especially when combined with an emphasis on managerial competence. A customised approach considering industry, scale, and local environment can improve overall financial health and regulatory compliance

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to shut down their operations and shift to digital platforms to survive and ensure their business continues. Hence, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have undergone an accelerated digital transformation to adopt technological innovations. The research aimed to identify the factors that encouraged and hindered digital innovation in MSMEs during economic destabilization, focusing on the perspectives of young entrepreneurs in Makassar City. Qualitative methods were used, involving in-depth interviews with 25 young entrepreneurs in Makassar City to explore the positive and negative impacts of transitioning to digital platforms post-pandemic. Data analysis was conducted using the inductive content analysis method. The results show that digital innovation in MSMEs after the pandemic is influenced by external factors (market and demand restrictions) and internal factors (personal and professional development). The limited financing, technology, and management of MSMEs compared to large enterprises make them more vulnerable to post-pandemic bankruptcy. Barriers faced in running businesses post-pandemic include market challenges on digital platforms, the need for necessary skills, and infrastructure availability. The implications of these findings are expected to develop programs that support young entrepreneurs and provide recommendations for the government in formulating policies and strategies to encourage digital entrepreneurship, especially in developing countries after the current pandemic.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the export competitiveness of cinnamon commodities in Jambi Province and West Sumatra Province in the domestic and international markets. The analysis tool for this research uses the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) index during 2011-2023. The research results show that the RCA value of cinnamon in the domestic market of West Sumatra Province is higher compared to Jambi Province. Meanwhile, the RCA value of cinnamon in the international market, Jambi Province and West Sumatra Province have not shown a strong comparative advantage, with an average RCA value < 1 From the results of this research, several policies are recommended to increase the competitiveness of cinnamon exports, including providing subsidies and incentives to farmers and exporters, developing transportation and logistics infrastructure, supporting research and development (R&D), promoting international trade, providing training and upgrading. capacity, as well as implementation of international quality standards and certification. The implementation of these policies is expected to increase the production and quality of cinnamon that meets international standards, as well as strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian cinnamon products in the global market.

Abstract

Batik MSMEs play a vital role in local economic development in Sungai Penuh City. Sungai Penuh’s distinctive batik features motifs inspired by local culture, making it a unique attraction with high market value. However, the development of this sector faces various challenges, such as limited capital, low adoption of technology, low production capacity, and restricted marketing networks. This study aims to analyze the current condition of batik MSMEs in Sungai Penuh City, formulate development strategies based on innovation, collaboration, and technology, and provide policy recommendations to local governments and other stakeholders. The analytical tools used include the IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) matrix, EFE (External Factor Evaluation) matrix, IE (Internal-External) matrix, and SWOT analysis. The findings indicate that batik MSMEs possess a primary strength in their unique motifs rooted in local culture but face significant challenges in production capacity, marketing, and capital. Major opportunities lie in digital markets, government policy support, and strategic partnerships. Based on the IE matrix, batik MSMEs are positioned in a "grow and develop" category, requiring intensive strategies such as market penetration, market development, and product innovation.

Abstract

This research examines the dynamic interplay of product innovation, community involvement, and regulatory policies in the context of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurship in Indonesia. MSMEs are pivotal contributors to Indonesia's economy, constituting a significant portion of the GDP and providing substantial employment. The study focuses on understanding how product innovation, community engagement, and regulatory frameworks influence the success of MSMEs. The research employs a conceptual framework, literature review, and empirical analysis to explore the relationships among these variables. Data collection involves structured surveys distributed among MSMEs, and the analysis employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS SEM). The results indicate positive correlations between product innovation, community involvement, regulatory policies, and entrepreneurial success. The study's implications highlight the need for supportive regulatory environments, community-centric policies, and innovation support for MSMEs. The research contributes valuable insights for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and MSME entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
