Abstract

The traditional paradigm of supervision—previously administrative and inspection-oriented—must now evolve into a model that is collaborative, responsive, and evidence-based. This article explores how Islamic educational supervision practices can be adapted through visionary leadership that integrates digitalization, Islamic values, and 21st-century competencies. The research method employed is a systematic literature review and conceptual analysis of English and Indonesian scientific publications from 2020–2025 discussing educational supervision, Islamic educational leadership, digital transformation, and the Industry 5.0 concept. Content analysis techniques were used to extract major themes and formulate a conceptual framework for adaptive supervision. The findings indicate that visionary leadership capable of formulating a “human-centric” and digital vision, supporting the digitalization of supervisory processes, and integrating Islamic values within technological guidelines is a key factor for successful adaptive supervision. Supervision designed through collaborative teacher engagement, peer-supervision, and real-time data utilization accelerates the transformation of learning practices.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SD 03 Ranah Batahan focusing on lesson planning, learning implementation, and assessment practices. Methods: The research used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving PAI teachers, school principals, and students. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Results: The findings reveal that planning documents such as ATP and Modul Ajar have been prepared, but their implementation varies according to teachers’ understanding. Learning activities generally follow the principles of differentiated learning; however, teachers still face challenges in applying diagnostic assessments consistently. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in its focus on elementary-level PAI learning practices within rural school contexts, showing unique challenges and strategies in adapting the Independent Curriculum

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine critically the implementation of Islamic-nuanced mathematics learning media as a means of strengthening Islamic Religious Education (PAI) values at SMP Negeri 1 Luhak Nan Duo. Methods: This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with mathematics teachers and students, and documentation analysis of lesson plans and learning media. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. Results: The findings reveal that the implementation of Islamic-nuanced mathematics learning media has not been carried out optimally. The integration of Islamic values tends to be incidental, not systematically planned, and largely depends on individual teacher initiatives. Limitations in teachers’ competencies, time constraints, and the absence of specific school policies hinder the effective use of such media in strengthening PAI values. Novelty: This study provides a critical insight into the managerial gaps in integrating Islamic values through mathematics learning media in public junior high schools, highlighting the need for systematic management support rather than solely pedagogical efforts.

Abstract

Objective : This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education learning media as an instrument for internalizing Islamic values at MTsN 4 Pasaman Barat. Methods: This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with Islamic Religious Education teachers and students, and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. Results: The findings show that various learning media such as audio-visual media, digital presentations, Islamic educational videos, and contextual teaching aids significantly support the internalization of Islamic values, including faith (iman), worship (‘ibadah), and morals (akhlaq). The use of appropriate media increases students’ engagement, understanding, and practice of Islamic values in daily life. Novelty: This study highlights the integrative function of learning media not only as instructional tools but also as value-internalization instruments within Islamic education at the madrasah level.

Abstract

Objective: The integration of visual and digital media in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning at the elementary school level is an important effort to improve the quality of the learning process and student engagement. This study aims to describe the practice of integrating visual and digital media in IRE learning and to identify the challenges encountered in its implementation at SD 10 Tarung-Tarung Utara. This research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through classroom observations, interviews with IRE teachers and school administrators, and documentation analysis of instructional planning materials. The findings indicate that the use of visual and digital media in IRE learning has not been optimally integrated. Teachers still tend to rely on conventional teaching methods with limited use of instructional media. Digital media are used incidentally and are not systematically planned within lesson designs. The main challenges include limited supporting facilities, insufficient teacher competence in managing digital media, and the absence of school policies that encourage sustainable media integration. These findings highlight the need for strengthening teacher competencies and institutional support to ensure more effective integration of visual and digital media in elementary-level IRE learning.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of ChatGPT use, digital literacy, and learning motivation on self-regulated learning (SRL) among students of the Educational Administration Study Program, Jambi University. Methods: This quantitative research employed a survey approach with a total of 188 active students from the Educational Administration Study Program in the 2022–2025 academic year, selected using a simple random sampling technique based on Slovin’s formula with a 5% error rate. The research instrument was a Likert-scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM–PLS) through SmartPLS 3.0 software. Results: The findings showed that: (1) ChatGPT use had no significant effect on self-regulated learning (p = 0.507; T = 0.664 < 1.96), (2) digital literacy had a positive and significant effect on self-regulated learning (p = 0.000; T = 4.392 > 1.96), and (3) learning motivation had a positive and significant effect on self-regulated learning (p = 0.020; T = 2.326 > 1.96). Simultaneously, ChatGPT use, digital literacy, and learning motivation influenced self-regulated learning with an R² value of 0.363, indicating a moderate category.

Abstract

Children’s character education is a fundamental aspect of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), especially in the context of increasingly complex globalization challenges, the rapid negative impact of digital technology development, and the growing moral crisis. The Prophetic Hadith, as the second primary source of Islamic teachings after the Qur’an, plays a strategic role in the process of shaping children’s personalities and character comprehensively. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Prophetic Hadith in the formation of children’s character, using a holistic and multidisciplinary approach in PAI learning. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research. Primary data were obtained from authoritative Hadith collections, while secondary data were drawn from relevant books and national and international scholarly journals. The findings indicate that the Prophetic Hadith contains universal principles for shaping children’s character that transcend time and can be effectively internalized through integrative and holistic PAI learning. Furthermore, a multidisciplinary approach in learning reinforces the relevance of Hadith values in the context of students’ development. This article is expected to provide both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of Islamic Religious Education oriented toward the formation of children’s character.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the dynamics of central government policies in the development of Islamic education facilities and infrastructure and to uncover the paradox between established regulations and their implementation in the field. This research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method. Data were obtained from government policy documents, legislation, and relevant journal articles and scientific books related to education policy and the management of Islamic educational facilities and infrastructure. Data analysis was conducted descriptively-analytically through a conceptual meta-analysis approach to identify policy patterns, implementation trends, and their implications for Islamic educational institutions. The research results indicate that, normatively, the central government's policies regarding the development of Islamic education facilities and infrastructure are in line with the mandate of laws and regulations and National Education Standards. However, at the implementation level, policy paradoxes are still found, characterized by weak coordination between the central and regional governments in the context of regional autonomy. This condition often leaves madrasahs in a vacuum of responsibility, resulting in suboptimal fulfillment and management of facilities and infrastructure. The difficulties of digitizing learning, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, have made the gaps in infrastructure and technological literacy in Islamic schools even more clear.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the use of digital media that is not optimal and less varied such as when explaining lessons is only supported by youtube media without any editing, this is because teachers are often burdened with high administration and workload, so that they find it difficult to spend time learning and integrating digital media into the teaching process This research aims to To produce interactive media based on articulate storylines that are valid, practical and effective in fiqh subjects of Hajj and Umrah material class VIII MTsN Agam. The research uses the Four-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model. The test subjects amounted to 23 students with interactive media objects based on articulate storyline. The results of the study show that the media developed is valid, very practical, and effective. Practicality from a student's perspective reached 92.87% (very practical category). Effectiveness was proven through a paired t-test between pretest–posttest with t-count = 9.27 > t-table = 2.074 (df = 22; α = 0.05), so that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes after using media. This finding confirms that the interactive media developed is feasible to support the achievement of fiqh learning goals in Hajj and Umrah materials at the MTsN 8 Agam level.

Abstract

Islamic education programs operate within complex educational environments that demand both measurable accountability and the preservation of Islamic moral spiritual values, creating distinctive challenges for program evaluation. This study aims to critically synthesize and conceptualize scholarly perspectives on the evaluation of Islamic education programs by examining their underlying principles, dominant frameworks, and implementation practices. Employing a conceptual and narrative literature review design, relevant studies published between 2018 and 2025 in internationally indexed and nationally accredited journals were purposively selected and thematically analyzed to identify convergent and divergent patterns. The findings reveal that evaluation practices in Islamic education remain largely dominated by outcome-based and accountability-driven models, often driven by external quality assurance and accreditation requirements, which inadequately represent holistic educational aims such as ethical formation and spiritual development. At the same time, the literature consistently emphasizes value-based evaluation principles grounded in Islamic educational philosophy, including holistic human development, moral accountability, and maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, yet these principles are rarely operationalized within coherent evaluative frameworks.
