Abstract

Modules in learning emphasize more on the activeness and activity of students. This study aims to develop a mathematics module based on an Active Learning (AL) strategy with the Active Learning (AL) type, namely The Power of Two (PT). This study uses an RD research design with the ADDIE model, which consists of 5 stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study involved three validators in assessing the validity of the module and 12 small group students to test student responses to the module, which was used to determine the practicality of the module. Based on the research results, it is known that the module developed has very valid criteria, with a percentage of 91.48% by two expert lecturers and a mathematics teacher. The results of student response tests used to assess the practicality of the developed module have very practical criteria, with a percentage of 90.22% by students. This shows that the mathematics module developed based on an Active Learning (AL) strategy with The Power of Two (PT) type is very valid and very practical.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a system-based academic supervision model to address specific inefficiencies in the supervision process, such as logistical challenges and resource limitations. The purpose of this research is to develop a system-based academic supervision model in overcoming the ineffectiveness of the academic supervision process. The method in this research is development research using the Borg and Gall model which consists of 10 steps of product development from preliminary research to product dissemination . The research subjects were teachers and school supervisors in Salatiga City, especially in elementary schools consisting of public and private schools. The selection of subjects is based on subjects with criteria, namely subjects who play an active role in the academic supervision process and have experience in academic supervision at school. The instruments in this study were observation guidelines, interview guidelines, user perception questionnaire, and product trial questionnaire. The research instruments have been validated by expert validators and meet the criteria of valid and reliable. The results showed that the development of the Management Information System for academic supervision of the Borg and Gall model resulted in a product that met the criteria of valid, effective and practical for academic supervision. The research findings show that using the academic supervision system makes it easier for supervisors and teachers to carry out the academic supervision process. In addition, the efficiency of supervision becomes better, because it can overcome the distance and the limited number of supervisors to the number of schools whose ratio is not balanced. In addition, the use of an academic supervision system speeds up the supervision process, simplifies the use of assessment instruments, and is practically used flexibly.

The purpose of this research is to analyze students' abilities writing poetry texts with vocabulary mastery in the environmental field is influenced by the experiential learning model. This type of research uses quantitative methods  experimental design. population 130 students. Sampling was done purposively as many as 22 people sampling technique in class X MIPA I, experimental class, and 22 people in class X MIPA 2, namely the control class. The results showed that the experimental class taught by experiential learning model was better than the control class taught by conventional methods. This can be seen from the results of th tt, meaning that there is a significant influence between the experiential learning model on the ability to write poetry texts of students. Students' ability in writing poetry texts and high environmental vocabulary mastery using experiential learning models is better than students' high environmental vocabulary mastery using conventional methods. The ability to write poetry texts of students with low environmental vocabulary mastery using the experiential learning model is better than students with low environmental vocabulary mastery using conventional methods. There is no interaction between the experiential learning model and environmental vocabulary mastery in influencing students' ability to write poetry texts.

Abstract

As the global halal market continues to expand, the role of educational institutions in fostering sector growth becomes increasingly crucial. This systematic literature review investigates the role of Indonesian universities in driving halal product innovation and education, which is essential in a country with the largest Muslim demographic worldwide. The review synthesizes findings from diverse scholarly articles, including peer-reviewed journals and government reports, published between 2015 and 2023, to present a comprehensive overview of how higher education institutions contribute to the halal sector's growth. It focuses on areas such as curriculum development, research initiatives, industry-academia collaboration, and the impact of these activities on the halal market. The methodology includes a rigorous selection process, adhering to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, and leveraging databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, and governmental archives, ensuring the analysis's relevance and depth. Key themes emerge, such as the integration of halal standards in academic programs, the role of universities in halal certification processes, and the incubation of halal product startups within university environments. The review also identifies gaps in existing research, notably in the quantification of universities' contributions to the halal market and the long-term outcomes of halal-focused education. Finally, the paper suggests areas for future research, including the need for longitudinal studies to assess the sustained impact of higher education on the halal industry's evolution in Indonesia and globally. This review provides policymakers with a framework for supporting academic programs that align with industry needs, thereby enhancing the national economy in Indonesia. It also offers valuable insights for academics and industry practitioners aiming to leverage educational institutions to foster innovation in the halal product sector.

Abstract

The integration of instant messaging services into educational settings has become increasingly prevalent, providing unique opportunities for enhanced communication and learning. This study aimed to examine the viewpoints of educators and students regarding the use of instant messaging services, such as WhatsApp, in their translation education and instruction. The study employed a qualitative research approach, specifically content analysis, to examine the utterances of two translation lecturers and fifteen ESP students. The results revealed that participants unanimously agreed that instant messaging services facilitated their teaching and learning of translation by using consistent terminology and rephrasing complex tasks to provide guidance throughout the chat. This approach enriched the translation understanding of ESP students. The study suggests using one consistent term to refer to the translation process throughout the text. In conclusion, chatting applications like WhatsApp are powerful and efficient communication tools that can facilitate an engaging, authentic, and meaningful learning experience when effectively included in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classrooms for online translation interactions.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle-Inquiry (LCI) model in enhancing critical thinking skills among pre-service elementary school teachers in remote areas of Malang, Indonesia. The development of critical thinking skills is fundamental for educational success and effective problem-solving in real-world scenarios. Despite its recognized importance, the cultivation of these skills remains insufficiently addressed in Indonesia's educational practices, especially among pre-service teachers destined for elementary education in remote locales. To address this deficiency, a quasi-experimental research design was implemented, involving 82 pre-service teacher students distributed across four classes. These classes were systematically assigned to either the LCI model, the learning cycle, inquiry-based methods, or conventional teaching strategies. The effectiveness of these methods was measured using ANCOVA and LSD statistical analyses. The findings revealed that the LCI model significantly improved critical thinking skills (p 0.001), outperforming other educational approaches, with a corrected mean value of 84.39. These results underscore the potential of the LCI model to substantially boost critical thinking capabilities and suggest its wider adoption could enhance educational outcomes in similar settings.
