Abstract

This study seeks to analyse how feelings of uncertainty and self-confidence impact students' inclination to utilise social media. This research is quantitative. The study's population consisted of students. The sampling employed the cluster random sampling method with a total sample size of 376 students. The data collection technique uses an insecure scale developed from the theory of Kim Kim (2005, 2017) and Ting-Toomey (2005, 2015) with a validity of 0.314 – 0.884 and reliability α = 0.976. The self-confidence scale was developed from Lauster's (1992) theory, with validity 0.402 - 0.676 and reliability α = 0.907. The intention scale was developed from the theory of Fishbein Ajzen (1975), validity 0.315 – 0.793 and reliability α = 0.896. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the SPSS application. The relationship between insecurity and intention to use social media is significant t-count 11.470, sig. = 0.000 and coefficient 0.227. The relationship between self-confidence and intention to use social media is significant, with a t count of 15.168, sig. = 0.000 and coefficient 0.388. The results of the regression analysis test F = 405.248 table 3.74 and the Sig value. = 0.000 0.05. So, insecurity and self-confidence together have a significant effect on the Intention to Use Social Media. The determination analysis shows that the adjusted R-squared = 0.683. This shows that the variables of insecurity and self-confidence influence 68.3% of Social Media Use Intentions.

Abstract

Sex outside of marriage is prohibited in Muslim society due to religious rules and its potential negative impacts, such as lineage disruption and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). In Aceh, adult sexual relations are governed by Islamic law under Qawun Jinayah, which mandates public punishment for offenders. Despite this law being enforced since 2002, extramarital sex and the spread of STDs remain prevalent. This qualitative research uses data from journals and publications in databases like MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, PubMed, Elsevier, and legal sources. It also reviews textbooks and Qanun Aceh regulations. The study found that prohibitions and preventive measures of Sharia law have not effectively curbed extramarital sexual practices. Young people, especially those under 18, are particularly vulnerable due to inadequate sexual education and insufficient understanding of Islamic law, making them susceptible to sexual violence, STDs, and legal punishments. The research highlights the need for a multifaceted approach to prevention, combining religious, cultural, and comprehensive sexual education for children. Educating youth about religious prohibitions and health risks can reduce their vulnerability and prevent legal repercussions from norm violations. An integrated educational approach in Aceh, which includes collaboration between educators, religious leaders, and policymakers, is crucial. This holistic curriculum would promote healthier and more informed lifestyles among young people, addressing both religious and health education needs.

Abstract

The philosophy of the Merdeka Belajar curriculum, which emphasizes a learning approach focused on learners’ needs and potential, can strengthen caring values. This research analyzes the indicators for strengthening the value of caring in student and teacher books for Islamic religious and moral education. The research method used is a literature review. The study subjects are Islamic religious education and moral textbooks for Grade V in Sekolah Penggerak. The study found that the forms of strengthening the value of caring in the books only contain three sub-indicators: 1) affection, 2) empathy, and 3) sympathy. Based on these three sub-indicators, there are several benefits of strengthening the value of caring, including 1) improving the quality of student personality; 2) improving social skills; 3) increasing religious awareness, critical thinking skills, fostering positive attitudes towards learning, and improving the quality of life for learners. This research also recommends six forms of strengthening the value of caring educators, namely: 1) teaching the value of caring for the learner’s environment; 2) providing real-life examples to learners; 3) using learning methods that encourage learner care; 4) teaching the value of caring for others to learners; 5) appreciating caring behavior, and 6) teaching care for other living beings. Overall, this research contributes to the field of education by highlighting the importance of caring values in student and teacher books, suggesting practical implications for curriculum development, textbook evaluation, teacher training, student development, and future research endeavors.

Abstract

This study investigates the performance achievements of 60 Islamic teachers in madrasahs during the learning process and identifies the problems and solutions needed to ensure all teachers meet the standards set by the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 209//P/2021. Utilizing a survey methodology and in-depth interviews, the study found several challenges: 19 teachers struggled with implementing contextual learning; 8 teachers faced issues with process and results assessment; 18 teachers had problems with remedial and enrichment programs; 15 teachers found it difficult to create a pleasant learning environment; 31 teachers encountered obstacles in promoting reading and writing literacy; 10 teachers had trouble ensuring student safety, comfort, and cleanliness; and 17 teachers faced difficulties optimizing school facilities and infrastructure. These challenges were attributed to the lack of active participation in teacher quality improvement training programs such as contextual teaching and learning, assessment instruments, active learning, literacy, and media and learning resource development training. Interviews with teachers who did not face these difficulties indicated that their participation in ongoing professional development programs helped them overcome these issues. Consequently, it is recommended that school stakeholders support teachers' involvement in these professional development programs to enhance their performance.

Abstract

The challenge of integrating local wisdom values into the education of the younger generation, especially in the era of digital advancement marked by transitions from 4.0 to 5.0, is primarily due to a lack of awareness, educational curriculum gaps, and generational differences in understanding these values. This research focuses on the Tri Tangtu concept—a key element of West Java's traditional wisdom—emphasizing its significance in maintaining societal balance and harmony between individuals and their environment. The aim is to analyze Tri Tangtu comprehensively and develop strategies to rekindle students' interest in preserving and understanding this cultural legacy. Adopting a qualitative research approach, this study delves into the complexities of rejuvenating Tri Tangtu for student engagement, with data collection conducted through purposive sampling interviews, centering on students from Telkom University in Bandung, Indonesia. Results indicate a decline in students' engagement with traditional cultural values, often perceived as restrictive or superstitious. Notably, this research innovates by strategizing the revival of Tri Tangtu through new media platforms. It concludes that integrating local wisdom values into the curriculum, supported by social programs, community engagement, and technological interventions, is crucial for fostering students' cultural identity.
