Al Ishlah Jurnal Pendidikan
This journal focuses on advancing scholarly research and critical discourse in the field of education. It publishes original research articles that address contemporary issues and emerging trends in curriculum development, instructional practices, learning processes, educational policy, and teacher preparation. The journal aims to contribute to the development of educational theory and practice in both national and international contexts. The journal also welcomes submissions related to environmental education and studies that examine learning through psychological, social, cultural, cognitive, and historical perspectives. Research that explores the interrelationships among teaching, knowledge construction, learner development, and educational contexts is particularly encouraged. Furthermore, the journal accepts research and academic discussions across a broad range of subject matter within education, including mathematics education, religious education, language pedagogy and English for Specific Purposes (ESP), natural sciences, social sciences, history, chemistry, and other related educational disciplines. The journal includes the following thematic sections: Learning: Theoretical and empirical investigations concerning learning processes and their development across diverse contexts. Issues and Trends: Analytical and interpretive essays addressing current educational, social, and philosophical issues. Learning in Everyday Life: Studies of learning experiences occurring outside formal academic settings, such as in homes, communities, digital environments, and cultural institutions. Teacher Education: Research on teacher preparation, professional development, and the broader conditions shaping the teaching profession. Education Policy: Critical analyses of educational policies, their principles, implementation, and effects on educational practice. Comments and Criticism: Scholarly dialogue aimed at clarifying, challenging, or expanding upon previously published works. Book Reviews: Reviews of recent publications relevant to the field of education. The Editorial Board invites manuscripts employing rigorous quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method approaches that demonstrate academic originality and significant contribution to educational scholarship. All submissions must present a thorough review of relevant literature, articulate a clearly defined research problem or argument, and provide well-grounded conclusions addressing implications and limitations.

<![CDATA[The objective of this research and development research is to provide educational resources centred around the Local Wisdom of Pagaralam City, specifically focusing on topic 8 "My Living Area" and sub-theme 1 "My Living Environment" for fourth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Pagaralam City. The employed approach is Research and Development (RD) utilising the Tessmer development model, which has two distinct stages: the preliminary stage (including preparation and design) and the formative evaluation stage (including self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one assessment, and small group evaluation). The participants of this developmental study consisted of fourth-grade students at A Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Pagaralam City. The findings of this developmental research indicate that valid thematic teaching materials can be generated based on the local wisdom of Pagaralam City. The results of the walkthrough sheet at the expert review stage indicate that the material expert validator scored 78%, the design expert validator scored 64%, and the linguist validator scored 81%. These scores place the material in the valid category and confirm its suitability for use in the learning process. The teaching materials that focus on the Local Wisdom of the City of Pagaralam can be considered practical. This is evident from the student questionnaire results, where students rated the materials as highly practical with an average percentage of 91. These materials are suitable for use in the learning process.]]>

<![CDATA[The quality of education is significantly influenced by the implementation of high-quality learning processes by teachers, supported by technology, to prepare an advanced and excellent younger generation towards the Golden Years. Integrating technology-based media, such as Edpuzzle, into educational materials can enhance the learning experience. This study explores the application of Edpuzzle in teaching volleyball to improve educational outcomes. The research employs the Research and Development (RD) ADDIE model, which encompasses five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This comprehensive approach involves collaboration with media experts and subject matter experts to ensure the quality and relevance of the developed educational media. The study resulted in the creation of an interactive multimedia learning product using the EdPuzzle application for volleyball materials. This product incorporates various multimedia elements, including videos, sound, text, images, and questions, structured in a way that follows educational syntax such as material concepts and activity phases. The effectiveness of this product was assessed through user reviews from students, who gave it an average score of 93.8%, categorizing it as excellent. The findings indicate that the EdPuzzle-based interactive multimedia learning product is highly effective in teaching volleyball. The high user review score suggests that students find this method of learning enjoyable and beneficial. The multimedia elements and interactive features likely contribute to a more engaging and efficient learning experience. The research concludes that the EdPuzzle-based interactive multimedia learning product is feasible and effective as a learning resource for volleyball materials. This technology-enhanced approach not only improves the quality of education but also makes the learning process more enjoyable and efficient. Therefore, it can be recommended for broader use in educational settings to support the development of an advanced and excellent younger generation.]]>

<![CDATA[The Merdeka Curriculum serves as a pivotal framework for cultivating a resilient and socially adept golden generation, aligning with the cherished principles of Pancasila. This study endeavors to evaluate the efficacy of the Merdeka Curriculum in fostering Indonesia's golden generation, gauging its influence on soft skills and character development as per the Pancasila learner profile, and identifying obstacles encountered during its implementation across diverse educational settings in Indonesia. Employing a systematic literature review approach following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, this research sourced pertinent articles from the "Semantic Scholar and Google Scholar" platforms, yielding 20 articles meeting the criteria spanning from 2022 to 2023. Findings reveal that the Merdeka Curriculum's implementation holds immense promise in nurturing Indonesia's golden generation, facilitating the cultivation of 21st-century skills, granting educators autonomy in pedagogical design, and leveraging digital media. Its holistic approach fosters an educational milieu emphasizing students' character and social competencies grounded in Pancasila values. Despite encountered challenges, educational institutions are emerging as hubs of innovation and catalysts for positive transformation. Nevertheless, delving deeper into the specific components and enduring impacts of the Merdeka Curriculum is imperative. Recommendations for future research entail comprehensive examinations of participation across various educational tiers and geographic regions, alongside longitudinal studies to elucidate its sustained effects. ]]>

<![CDATA[The goal of this research is to look into the effects of inclusive education policy in Indonesia in order to protect the rights of children with special needs. A systematic literature review was conducted to synthesize the kinds of literature pertaining to inclusive education policy on children with special needs. The kinds of literature were attained from several article search engines, namely Google Scholar and ScienceDirect, published from 2011 to 2023. The data collected includes the rules and regulations, policies, guidelines, and instructions linked with inclusive education. The study's findings reveal that inclusive education policies substantially impact the issue of ensuring that children with special needs are given their rights. Specialized educational services will be provided to children with special needs, and efforts will be made to strengthen the overall inclusive education system and make education more accessible to all children. Improving the quality of human resources, guaranteeing that all students have equal access to special education services, and raising public awareness about the significance of inclusive education are all crucial if we want to see an increase in the effectiveness of inclusive education policies. Therefore, it is desired that all children, including those with special needs, would have equal and adequate educational opportunities.]]>

<![CDATA[Non-permanent teachers, in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as educators and instructors, have the right to earn income above the minimum living standards and social welfare guarantees. Teachers highly anticipate the issuance of regional regulations in the field of education in an effort to improve the welfare of teachers in Sumenep. This research aims to determine the urgency of regional regulations for improving the welfare of non-permanent teachers in the Sumenep Islands. This research uses a qualitative approach, which is a descriptive analysis with a case study type. Informants were determined using the purposive sampling method, and the informants in this study were 7 school principals, 25 honorary teachers, and seven salary treasurers. Data collection used three methods, namely, interviews, observation, and documentation. The collected data was analyzed using an interactive analysis model. According to the study's findings, the pay for non-permanent teachers as a whole is still below the minimum living standards set in the Sumenep region. Teachers do not always hope to be able to take part in the civil service selection so that teachers' minimum living needs can be met and social welfare can be guaranteed.]]>

<![CDATA[Despite the rollout of the Merdeka Curriculum, its adoption in some madrasas remains incomplete. This study explores the readiness of PAI (Islamic Religious Education) instructors in Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Madrasah Aliyah to implement the Curriculum Merdeka, focusing on the challenges posed by limited socialization opportunities and a general lack of motivation among teachers. Utilizing a qualitative research design, this study employed descriptive methodologies to gather insights. Data was collected through questionnaires from 36 respondents and analyzed using a systematic approach involving data reduction, data display, and verification processes. The findings reveal significant gaps in the readiness of PAI teachers to effectively implement the Curriculum Merdeka. Only 16.67% of teachers demonstrated a high level of awareness of the curriculum’s content. About 11.11% of the instructors showed a deep understanding of its fundamental principles and could distinguish it from the previous curriculum. Furthermore, only 16.67% had access to the necessary curriculum and learning documents, and a mere 11.11% possessed adequate learning resources to apply the Curriculum Merdeka effectively. This study underscores the need for enhanced training and resource allocation to ensure the successful adoption of the Curriculum Merdeka in madrasas.]]>

<![CDATA[This article investigates the principal's strategies for enhancing the quality of education through human resource management at MTs Al Anwar Sarang. The school faces several challenges, including teacher discipline, the mismatch between academic qualifications and teaching assignments, and the mastery of learning methods and media. A qualitative research method was employed, involving in-depth interviews to gather data on the strategies used by the school principal to improve education quality. Interviewees included principals, educators, education personnel, and other relevant parties. The data were analyzed using data condensation techniques as described by Miles and Huberman, followed by presentation and conclusion drawing. The study revealed that the principal implemented several effective strategies. These included granting educators the freedom to develop professionally, providing motivation and support, delegating training responsibilities, and involving resource persons. Additional support was given through adequate facilities, sufficient time, family meetings, and rewards. These strategies led to improvements in individual skills and fostered a dynamic, collaborative, and reward-focused school environment. Specifically, they enhanced educator discipline, improved the quality of teaching, and bolstered mastery of learning methods and media. The findings suggest that the principal’s policies, which promote autonomy and professional development, significantly contribute to educational improvements. Furthermore, the strategies created a positive atmosphere and a solid community of educators, supporting sustainable growth for the entire educational team. This study provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers into how strategic human resource management can enhance education quality. The pragmatic framework introduced here demonstrates how school principals can effectively guide human resource management to achieve significant educational improvements.]]>

<![CDATA[This comprehensive study explores the predictive role of self-esteem in relation to anxiety, specifically trait anxiety and state anxiety. The research encompasses 229 college students from a university in Medan, Indonesia, who participated in an online survey. Utilizing Multi-Group Analysis PLS-SEM, the collected data underwent thorough analysis. The outcomes obtained from partial least squares structural equation modeling demonstrate that self-esteem has a negative impact on students' anxiety levels, encompassing both trait anxiety and state anxiety. Furthermore, the structural model was assessed across two distinct gender groups (Group 1: Female; Group 2: Male), and the results indicate the model's consistency across these groups. This study contributes novel insights to the existing literature on anxiety mitigation within educational contexts, particularly among Eastern populations. In conclusion, the findings emphasize the crucial role of self-esteem as a predictor of anxiety among college students in Indonesia. The research highlights a negative association between self-esteem and both trait anxiety and state anxiety. Additionally, by demonstrating the robustness of the structural model across gender groups, the study implies the universal implications of its findings. Overall, this research provides valuable insights for educators and practitioners seeking to address anxiety-related concerns and enhance the well-being of students in educational settings.]]>

<![CDATA[This study seeks to evaluate the impact of Android-based teaching tools on enhancing the skills of Physical Health And Recreation Education students, particularly in rhythmic activity courses for the upcoming academic year 2022/2023. This study follows the research conducted by Borg and Gall across 10 stages. The research will be conducted at the Faculty of Sports Science, Universitas Negeri Medan. This research was conducted over one semester, specifically from May to June 2023. This study focuses on students of the Physical Health And Recreation Education programme who are enrolled in a rhythmic activity gymnastics course during the fifth semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 115 students. A modest sample size of 30 students, contrasted with a more substantial sample of 50 students. Conducting data collection involves distributing questionnaires to small samples, large samples, and comparison samples, as well as consulting material experts and learning media experts. Based on the statistical analysis, the trial using an android-based media for rhythmic gymnastics demonstrated a significant improvement in students' competence, with a p-value of 0.000. Graduation competencies in rhythmic gymnastics for students, particularly the fundamental movements they possess prior to utilising an android-based rhythmic gymnastics learning tool, demonstrate a notable improvement. Lecturers are adept at utilising teaching media to enhance learning.]]>

<![CDATA[TikTok as a social media, nowadays is increasingly used for various purposes including video content about religion, such as Da’wah. It is an effective choice to disseminate moderate da'wah for the process of educating (tarbiyah) the community to become smart, wise, and polite people who can implement their spiritual and social responsibilities. The research method in this study used a qualitative type using a literature study approach, with data collection techniques of documentation on TikTok videos, and data analysis techniques using induction, interpretation, and comparison. The results of this study show that the moderation in da'wah education on TikTok has gained an extensive scope in the public view and the enthusiasm of the community to learn Islam or "ngaji" has increased. Among the preachers with moderate da'wah education on TikTok are Gus Iqdam, Gus Kautsar, and Neng Umi Laila, who always carry out the process of education (coaching) to the community with a humanist, contextual, and dialectical da'wah model with straightforward rhetoric, hamble and packed with light language so that it is easily accepted by all circles. Their da'wah ideology is based on ahlussunnah which is very compatible with the spirit of togetherness in Indonesia, so they acquire a positive response from the audiences. This reinforces that the digitalization of da'wah on social media is a powerful and quick strategy in the process of educating people to practice religion in a friendly, peaceful, and full of togetherness amid diversity.]]>
