Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain how diverse learning strategies in geography instruction affect the learning outcomes and motivation of SMA Negeri 1 Bunyu geography students. This study employs quantitative techniques and is the kind that has an experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, where there is an experimental class that uses differentiated learning strategies, while the control class uses expository learning strategies. The use of this design is based on the problems faced by teachers in the classroom, such as low student motivation to learn, and the strategies used by teachers are not diverse. This design makes it possible to compare different learning strategies between differentiated strategies and expository strategies on student motivation in the classroom. Sixty-three students made up the study's sample, which was selected using a combination of random and probability sampling techniques. SPSS version 25.00 data analysis techniques using the t-test (Independent Sample T-test). With a value of 0.000 0.05, the t-test results showed that using a variety of learning strategies can improve learning outcomes and increase student motivation. Differentiated learning tactics are implemented based on the needs and abilities of students in order to provide an inclusive learning environment. The utilization of various strategies can improve students' academic achievement in addition to encouraging deeper knowledge. The findings of this study show how differentiated instruction can improve students' academic performance and motivation for studying geography.

Abstract

This study aims to test the reliability, validity and wright person-items of the test instrument. It used to measure students' cognitive system thinking in genetics lectures. This cognitive system dimension (New Marzano Taxonomy) consists of 4 levels: retrieval, comprehension, analysis, and knowledge utilization. The research method used was descriptive quantitative, with respondents as many as 116 undergraduate students who had attended genetics lectures. The instrument used consisted of 20 multiple-choice questions developed from 4 levels of the cognitive dimension of the system. Data analysis using the Rasch Model-Dichotom to generate more accurate estimates based on individual abilities and difficulty levels of question items. The results showed that the Alpha Cronbach and Item Reliability value on the instrument was 0.81 (Very Good) to 0.92 (Best). Furthermore, person reliability is 0.63 (Moderate). It can be concluded the interaction between the question items and the quality of the question items on the test instrument indicates that the instrument effectively assesses constructs and is relevant for measuring the level of cognitive system thinking. Revisions are made to items that are too easy or too difficult, as well as a review of items with similar difficulties. So it can be assessed that this test has the potential to be widely used in measuring cognitive ability, but some improvements are needed to further improve its reliability for other population.

Abstract

Globalization has contributed to a decline in students' moral character, with traditional values like respect for parents, teachers, and the elderly fading. To address this, schools must prioritize character education. One effective method is incorporating local cultural elements, such as folk songs, into the curriculum. This study examines the character education values in the Riau Malay folk song "Bukoba Panglima Awang" and its implementation in literature lessons for junior high school students under the Merdeka Curriculum. Using a qualitative, descriptive approach, the research identified 19 character values in the song, including politeness, humility, obedience, religious devotion, hard work, and integrity. A key value is obedience, where children are reminded to obey their parents or face divine consequences. These values are integrated into literature learning modules for 7th-grade students, with particular emphasis on politeness, humility, obedience, and compassion. The findings suggest that traditional folk songs like "Bukoba Panglima Awang" offer a rich source of character education and can be effectively used to strengthen students' moral development within modern curricula. Further research should explore how local cultural elements can be more broadly applied to foster character education in schools across Indonesia.

Abstract

The integration of religious learning significantly shapes students' educational experiences and character development. This study explores specific dimensions of religiosity in the attitudes of Islamic primary school students in Indonesia, focusing on awareness, initiative, and altruism. Using a qualitative design with a grounded theory approach, the research was conducted in 64 classes from grades 1 to 6, involving 1,920 students. Instruments included a guidebook of students' daily worship activities and teacher observations. Data were analyzed using NVivo 14 and Crosstab analysis. The findings reveal that students' external religiosity, influenced by their environment and personal motivation, leads to internal religiosity characterized by conscientiousness, initiative, and altruism. Conscientiousness reflects adherence to religious norms, initiative is shown through disciplined and pious actions, and altruism manifests in helping others based on religious teachings. The study concludes that the development of students' religiosity dimensions results from disciplined and continuous training supported by teachers and parents. The findings highlight the importance of ongoing attention and guidance in fostering altruistic attitudes. These insights have implications for educators, policymakers, and parents, emphasizing the need for comprehensive religious education that promotes ethical behavior and social responsibility. Future research should explore the long-term effects of religious education on moral and social development, its impact across diverse backgrounds, and the role of digital platforms in enhancing religious education.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship courses are one of the important courses to be developed in the curriculum of education study programs. This is to equip students, apart from having abilities in the field of education, to have an entrepreneurial spirit. Prospective teacher students need to be equipped with entrepreneurial competencies as a provision for living life after graduating from lectures as prospective teachers. Currently, there are rarely studies on the development of entrepreneurship courses for prospective teachers. This study aims to develop competencies and study materials that need to be mastered by prospective teacher students in entrepreneurship courses. This research was conducted using the delphi method involving expert consensus to determine the competencies and study materials for entrepreneurship courses. These competencies and study materials are used as the basis for developing semester learning plans (RPS) by lecturers. The results showed that there are ten competencies that must be mastered by prospective teacher students in carrying out entrepreneurship lectures. The most important thing is about exploring local potential which can be utilized for entrepreneurial activities.  The ten competencies were also analyzed based on priority order factors that must be trained to students. Through this research, it is necessary to develop a more practical curriculum for educational study programs.

Abstract

Government regulations on Islamic education in Indonesia have provided significant clarity and fulfilled educational needs within a developing society. These regulations demonstrate democratic, cultural, and adaptable qualities in the legal framework of Islamic education. However, challenges remain in achieving parity between Islamic and general education policies. This research employed a literature review approach, analyzing data from books, scientific articles, and research reports. A comparative and historical analysis was conducted to assess the impact of government policies on Islamic education. The findings reveal three key outcomes: (1) Government policies have shaped Islamic education to help students understand and practice their religious teachings across various levels of general education; (2) The Ministry of Religion has been granted autonomy to determine Islamic education curriculum policies; and (3) Political efforts to equalize the status of Islamic education with general education have encountered significant challenges, hindering policy development. The research highlights the ongoing struggle to integrate Islamic education within the broader educational system, which continues to present obstacles for policymakers. Despite these challenges, the autonomy granted to the Ministry of Religion marks progress in shaping the curriculum according to Islamic values. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders, offering guidance on improving Islamic education policies in Indonesia. Further efforts are necessary to address the political challenges that affect the development and implementation of Islamic education laws.
