Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of School Operational Assistance Costs for Education (BOS) policy to increase school participation rates in elementary, secondary, and high school levels, both public and private, in East Java. This research is a systematic literature review that gathers existing data. The researchers surfed the largest web search engine for scholarly literature, Google Scholar, to collect the data. Five articles that represented the implementation of BOS Funds in East Jawa were selected as the data. To analyse the data, the researcher used Miles Huberman’s (1994) analysis steps, namely data reduction, data verification, and data display. The conclusion of the research results showed that the Education BOS program's budget allocation had been directed to improve the quality of learning. Almost most aspects of the implementation of Education BOS program have been implemented properly according to the Technical Guidelines BOS. The scope of financing, which is included in the allocation of the use of BOS for Education Administration and School Operational Assistance, is sufficient to support the implementation of the free school policy. However, the unit cost per student indeed needs to be re-evaluated by giving affirmations or special treatment, especially on the aspect of accessibility, for poor private schools and schools with very few students or schools that are geographically remote and isolated in rural areas to be given an additional unit size cost per student.

Abstract

The academic advisor and college counselling laboratories have an essential role in giving services to students. One of the assumptions is that these services can impact student learning readiness. This study aims to see how the relationship between Academic Advisors and the counselling labour impairs students' preparedness for learning. This research is quantitative research with a sample size of 297 people from seventeen studies programs for the 2019/2020 school year, where the sample is taken at random (random sampling). Instrument to measure the synergy and readiness to learn using a closed questionnaire Likert scale model. The data validation and data reliability are carried out through statistical analysis apps in the 21st version. The results showed that the correlation coefficient obtained between the variables of Academic Advisory and counselling laboratories and the variable of student learning readiness was 0.851, which was included in the fairly high or strong category. So it can be concluded that there is a synergy between Academic Advisors and counselling laboratories in providing services to students and also impacts student learning readiness.

Abstract

The ‘Freedom to Learn, Independent Campus’ or MBKM program is a flagship program that aims to create competitive, skilled, independent, and innovative students. This study aims to determine the implementation of the MBKM program in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences one of the universities in Central Sulawesi Province. This study used a quantitative approach. The population was the study program and MBKM units consisting of the faculty, lecturers, and students with a total of 111 respondents. The sampling used a purposive sampling technique to determine the criteria. The number of samples used a census so that the entire population was sampled. Data were collected by observation, questionnaires, and documentation. Then, data were analyzed using descriptive statistics guided by the mean value. The results of the study showed that the implementation of MBKM has not been effective in terms of communication, resources, and the attitude of the implementers, especially in the dimension of resources for the indicators of human resources and supporting facilities which are important to be considered in the implementation of MBKM program. Meanwhile, the dimensions of the bureaucratic structure have been effective as the standard operating procedures have been provided in the form of guidelines or implementation guidebooks. Furthermore, the responsibilities or authorities in implementing policies and the path of coordination have been well distributed.

Abstract

Distance learning requires teachers to select appropriate instructional methods to ensure that students comprehend what the teacher communicates without meeting face to face. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate how a Blended Learning model centered on two-way communication can be applied during a pandemic. This is a quantitative method of research that employs a quasi-experimental design. The research variables include the dependent variable, which is the outcome of mathematics instruction, and the independent variable for the Blended Learning model. The research design used was a pretest-posttest randomized control group design. Subjects were assigned randomly to the experimental group, administered a pretest, and received treatment using a blended learning model. Following that, the final test (posttest) was administered. Given that the final value of the test in this study is 1.712, the table value at a 0.05 significance level, and a sample size of 30 students is 1.697. The conclusion is that the value of 1.712 is greater than the 1.697 t table value. Because the value of t count is greater than the value of the t table, the criteria H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted. The blended learning model can effectively improve students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The government and schools have tried to strengthen the implementation of character education. However, there is no program to overcome radicalism. Everything returns to each individual, including the successful implementation of character education, which can at least minimize the influence of radicalism on the school environment. This study is intended to obtain a hypothetical model of Character-Based Leadership that can effectively affect the implementation of character education and efforts to combat radicalism. This research was conducted by studying phenomena that are part of the qualitative method. The object of this research is high school-level schools exposed to radicalism. The schools taken were two schools that had been exposed to radicalism. The subjects of this study were the principal, teachers, and students. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interview techniques, complemented by observation and document review. Data collection was carried out by several visits to the research field, cross-checking, primary data, and secondary data, complemented by literature studies and previous research. This study also meta-analyses several leadership models as a theoretical basis in producing character-based leadership components. The data processing of the results of this study was assisted by the NVIVO 12 Software to facilitate researchers in finding research results from so much field data. From the results of data analysis, researchers get many components of character values from character-based leadership, constructs, and frameworks in the implementation of character education. Finally, this study proposes the ideal character values possessed by someone who can be included in the category of character-based leadership who can become a leader in the implementation of character education and a leader who can prevent and overcome radicalism.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the Islamic Education Learning Strategy in the mental development of children with mental disabilities in inclusive schools in Medan City. In inclusive schools, Islamic education is distinct from other public schools. The Inclusive School of Medan City was the site of this investigation. The findings showed that planning, implementation, and evaluation all played significant roles in the Islamic Education learning method. Through the draft lesson plan, planning emphasizes the formation of religious characters (Ilahiyah) and moral development (Insaniyah). In order to improve the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development of mentally challenged children, this program's implementation focuses on helping youngsters internalize Islamic teachings through stages such as habituation, example, and full mentoring. Teachers collaborate with parents by providing a format for the daily tasks of students with mental disabilities to help them learn the Koran, the practice of Shalat and prayer, morals (commendable deeds performed, fiqh), and other aspects of Islamic religious learning, such as the Koran, the practice of Shalat and prayer, and other aspects of Islamic religious learning (procedures for purification). Children with mental disabilities can develop a sound mind via the study of Islamic education.
