Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate two important factors: the understanding of the verses of the Qur'an and the multicultural attitudes of Muslim students (BI) in Pontianak and their correlation. This study applied a quantitative research design through the distribution of questionnaires (online) to 130 of 200 Moslems students at a private university in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Then, the data were analyzed descriptively and non-parametrically. The results of this study revealed that BI students had a high understanding of the verses of the Qur'an and multicultural attitudes and the two variables had a very close positive relationship based on the results of the Kendall Tau Correlation analysis (τ = 0.856, p < 0.001). The results of this study indicated that Islamic Religious Education could be an effective pathway in building multicultural attitudes, even without direct intercultural contact. In contrast to previous multiculturalism studies that generally highlight differences between religious groups, this study explores multicultural attitudes among Muslim students from various tribes/ethnicities (Malay, Javanese, Dayak, Madurese) within the same religion, which is still relatively rarely studied. Furthermore, the theoretical and empirical implications of this research are also discussed in this article

Abstract

This study aims to describe muhadarah activities can build students' communication skills at MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya. There have been problems with students' lack of ability to communicate, lack of self-confidence, fear and so on. Muhadarah activities are activities to deliver speeches or lectures related to religion or achieve goals, especially in communication skills. The method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that muhadarah activities are carried out routinely and in a structured manner, and have a positive impact on communication skills. This can be seen from the increase in good communication skills, self-confidence, assertiveness and self-control. The conclusion is that muhadarah activities can run effectively if they are carried out consistently and receive maximum guidance. Suggestions are given to continue to develop the implementation of muhadarah activities in line with Islamic values and can help students' communication skills, as reflected in the verses of the Qur'an, one of which is QS. An-Nahl verse 125 and the hadiths of the Prophet SAW.

Abstract

This study examines the Islamic spiritual development strategies implemented for soldiers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in Lampung Province and their implications for spiritual well-being. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed to explore soldiers’ subjective experiences, with data collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews with five informants (n = 5), and document analysis. Data were analyzed thematically to identify the forms of practice, implementation challenges, and perceived outcomes of the program. The findings indicate that spiritual development was conducted through congregational prayer, Qur’anic recitation, dhikr, religious study sessions, spiritual counseling, spiritual retreats, and social service activities, which collectively contributed to enhanced discipline, emotional stability, and strengthened religious commitment among soldiers. However, program effectiveness was constrained by demanding military schedules and variability in counselors’ competencies. The study recommends capacity-building for spiritual counselors, scheduling adjustments, and systematic program evaluation to improve intervention quality. The research is limited by its small sample size and single-site focus, which restrict the generalizability of the findings. Future research is recommended to employ mixed-method designs with larger samples to assess quantitative impacts on discipline, mental well-being, and religiosity

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in madrasahs plays a strategic role in shaping adolescent character amid the challenges of globalization characterized by value pluralism and moral decline. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education in madrasahs in fostering adolescent character through the perspectives of values education and moral development. The study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, drawing on academic books and peer-reviewed journal articles on Islamic education, character education, and adolescent moral development, mainly published within the last five years. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education in madrasahs significantly contributes to adolescent character formation through moral value internalization, moral identity development, strengthened self-control, and enhanced moral resilience against global influences. Islamic Religious Education also functions as a protective factor against deviant behavior and promotes prosocial attitudes among adolescents. This study highlights the importance of strengthening Islamic Religious Education as a holistic and contextual values-based education within madrasah education policies.

Abstract

This research explores the contribution of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in nurturing students’ character at SMKN 3 Buntok. The study aims to illustrate the strategies employed by these educators, the obstacles they encounter, and the methods they adopt to overcome them. Utilizing a qualitative research approach, data were gathered through interviews. The results reveal that PAI teachers serve as exemplary figures, advisors, and motivators by modeling positive behavior, instilling good habits, implementing life-related learning, and using persuasive communication. Key challenges include limited instructional time and the diversity of students’ backgrounds. These are addressed through humanistic and cooperative teaching practices. The study concludes that the active involvement of PAI teachers, along with collaborative support from the school community, plays a vital role in character education.

Abstract

This study explores the responsibility of the Tasikmalaya Police Resort in ensuring public safety and order, based on Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police, and viewed through the lens of Siyasah Dusturiyah (Islamic constitutional politics). The main issue addressed is the rising crime rate including motorcycle theft, gang violence, and street crimes that has caused public unrest. Employing a juridical-empirical approach with descriptive qualitative methods, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Tasikmalaya Police have implemented both preventive (patrols, legal counseling, public education) and repressive (investigation and law enforcement) strategies. Community-based programs such as "Police, Friends of the People" and "Friday Dialogues" have also enhanced public-police cooperation. From a Siyasah Dusturiyah perspective, the police embody the role of muḥtasib, enforcers of amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, tasked with maintaining public welfare and order. Thus, police responsibility is both legally mandated and spiritually driven as a divine trust

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of mobile banking and service quality on customer satisfaction among Generation Z at the Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School in Tasikmalaya. The rapid development of digital technology in the financial sector has led to the widespread use of mobile banking as an accessible and efficient platform for conducting banking transactions. Generation Z, having grown up in a digital environment, exhibits strong preferences for banking services that are fast, easy to use, and technologically integrated. At the same time, the quality of service—such as responsiveness, reliability, and security—remains a key determinant of customer satisfaction, even within traditional educational institutions like Islamic boarding schools. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method, with a sample of 100 Generation Z students selected from the Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to assess the individual and joint effects of mobile banking and service quality on customer satisfaction. The results show that mobile banking has a positive and significant partial effect on satisfaction, indicating that ease of use, functionality, and personalization features are highly valued by young users. Furthermore, service quality demonstrated a dominant and statistically significant influence on satisfaction, especially in terms of responsiveness and assurance. Simultaneously, both variables together were found to significantly affect satisfaction levels, reinforcing the importance of integrating high-quality service delivery with digital innovations. The study concludes that improvements in both digital banking applications and service delivery are essential for meeting the expectations of young digital-native customers. Practically, banks should focus on upgrading technical features while also ensuring consistent and empathetic service interactions. Theoretically, the findings contribute to the existing literature by highlighting how user satisfaction is shaped in religious-based educational settings through a combination of digital convenience and service excellence

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of marketing communication and Instagram social media on brand awareness in the local culinary business PaPa Burjo and its implications for strengthening digital education from the perspective of Islamic Education. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 respondents who are consumers of PaPa Burjo, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The results indicate that marketing communication and Instagram social media simultaneously and partially have a significant effect on brand awareness, with Instagram social media showing a more dominant influence. These findings confirm that ethical, creative, and informative digital communication strategies align with the values of Islamic Education, particularly honesty (ṣidq), responsibility (amānah), and consumer education. This study contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of digital literacy and value-based marketing communication among students and local entrepreneurs within an Islamic educational framework.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the validity and reliability of the interview instrument related to Islamic Educational Values in the Indigenous Knowledge of Mangawah Culture: Analysis of the Validity and Reliability of the Interview Instrument in the Bahaul North Barito Event.. The approach used is exploratory qualitative. To calculate validity and reliability, Microsoft Excel was utilized. The results of the validity test show that the instrument achieved a feasibility score of 85% and a validity score of 66.96%, which according to Arikunto's criteria falls into the 'feasible' category. Meanwhile, the reliability test results indicate a Cronbach Alpha value of 0.808, which based on Sugiyono's criteria (2017) is classified as very high reliability. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the interview instrument used in this study has met the standards of validity and reliability, making it suitable for collecting data on the values of Islamic education in the mangawah tradition during the bahaul event in Jambu Village, Barito Utara Regency.

Abstract

This article aims to analyse the integration of reconstructionist thought in Islamic Religious Education. Reconstructionism as an approach in educational philosophy views education as an important instrument in the process of social change. In the realm of contemporary Islamic education, this approach has become a strategic alternative in responding to the challenges of modernity, the crisis of values, and the need for curriculum reform. This study adopts the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to examine five scientific articles highlighting the application of reconstructionist thought in the context of Islamic education. The research findings indicate that reconstructionist principles play a significant role in strengthening character education, redesigning the curriculum, mainstreaming the Islamization of knowledge, and fostering social awareness among students. The results of this study provide a solid theoretical foundation for the development of a more progressive, adaptive, and contextual model of Islamic education
