Abstract

Low coverage of antenatal care (ANC) and mothers’ delivery conducted not in the health care facilities were two major problems related to maternal health care in of the West Nusa Tenggara Province. The accompaniment to pregnant women could be solution to prevent the risks of pregnancy by increasing the coverage of ANC and directing mother to deliver in health care facilities. This study aims to study the effect of mentoring pregnant women on maternal health behavior during pregnancy until delivery. A quasi-experiment study was conducted in two districts namely East and Central Lombok. Two public health centers ‘Puskesmas’ were selected in each districts. They differed as the intervention and controlled health centers. The criteria for the both health centers were having high number of pregnant women, but low coverage of maternal health services. The control health centers defined as having the closest distance from the intervention one. Study population of this study were all pregnant women in the study area. Sample were selected for those women with the gestational age of 24-26 weeks and willing to be accompanied further or neither not delivery. The total of 130 women were randomly selected from the study population. Results showed the accompaniment of pregnant women was able to increase the score of health behavior as compare to the control group. Pregnant women with accompaniment were 30 times higher chance of better health behavior (OR=30.89; 95%CI=10.72-84.40), and 3 fold prefer to deliver at health facilities (OR=2.89; 95%CI=1.16-7.21). Other positive impact of accompaniment was the obedience of iron pill at least 90 tablets, as well as food supplementation taken. Student accompaniment brought a positive impact to pregnant women on health behavior and delivery in health facility.

Abstract

Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is an autoimmune disease. The European Academy of Neurology recommends treatment using corticosteroids, immunoglobulin, plasma exchange, & other treatments as treatment options for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy. However, several studies in recent years have shown that there is potential in the treatment of chronic inflammatory demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy. The aim of this literature review is to provide the latest therapy for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy based on guidelines as well as other information therapy alternatives. The method used in this literature review uses searches in several databases. The results of several studies show the development of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy therapy both pharmacologically & non-pharmacologically. The development of therapy for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy, namely hematopoietic stem cells & spinal cord stimulation, shows potential as a therapeutic option for patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy.

Abstract

The yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) is a pelagic fish with distinct morphological development and behavioral traits. Understanding the early stages of morphology and behavior in yellowfin tuna larvae is crucial for successful cultivation efforts, particularly during the hatchery phase. This study aimed to observe and document the developmental progression and behaviors of yellowfin tuna larvae at the Tuna Laboratory of Balai Besar Riset Budidaya Laut and Penyuluhan Perikanan Gondol, Bali. Yellowfin tuna larvae were reared in 700 L round tanks at a density of 10,000 larvae per tank. Larval rearing was monitored over a period of 13 days, specifically on days 1 (D1), 3 (D3), 5 (D5), 7 (D7), 10 (D10) and 13 (D13) post-hatching. Morphological changes in the larvae were observed over time. On day 1, the larvae were transparent and planktonic, with closed mouths and eyes and the presence of melanophore pigments in their bodies. By day 3, the larvae had opened their mouths and eyes, becoming capable of feeding. The mouth opening measured between 0.34-0.68 mm (90°) and 0.18-0.37 mm (45°) on day 5 post-hatching. As the larvae grew, improvements in swimming ability were noted, correlating with the development of the swim bladder, tail fin, and dorsal fin.

Abstract

Aquaculture is an activity that produces waste in its production. Waste in the aquatic environment is dangerous because it can cause pollution. Source of aquaculture waste come from unetaen feed, feces and excretion products. Preventing this waste can be done by implementing an environmentally friendly aquaculture sistem that is in accordance with blue economy principles in order that aquaculture can be sustainable. One sistem that can be used is implementing Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA). IMTA is a aquaculture activity that apllies an integartion sistem between several species that are reared together. The IMTA principle is the use of nutrients in one rearing with the result that does not competition between spescies. The advantages of IMTA can minimize waste and increase profits because it can harvest more than one species.

Abstract

Aluminum alloy and glass waste is often found in the business of making display racks. It is necessary to do research on the utilization of waste into useful products. This study aims to determine the hardness and compressive strength of objects made of a mixture of aluminum alloy and glass using the powder metallurgy method. The first stage was making aluminum and glass powders up to 100 mesh in size, the next stage was mixing the powders (mixing) with time variations of 70 minutes, 80 minutes and 90 minutes with a composition of 80% aluminum and 20% glass. Then manufacture of specimens with a compaction load of 8 tons. Furthermore, the sintering process at a temperature of 500 oC with time variations of 60 minutes, 90 minutes and 120 minutes, then tested hardness and compressive strength. The results obtained from the hardness test and compressive strength test showed the highest value for the test object with variations in the stirring time and sintering time of 90 minutes. Based on the two-way ANOVA analysis, the mixing time and sintering time obtained the values of Fcount>Ftable, so that the mixing time and sintering time have a significant effect on hardness and compressive strength.

Abstract

Simpang empat Bengkel Kabupaten Lombok Barat adalah persimpangan yang memiliki tingkat kemacetan yang sangat padat pada peak hour. persimpangan ini sering terjadinya konflik lalu lintas yang dapat menyebabkan kecelakaan. Sehingga perlu pencegahan untuk mengurangi jumlah kecelakaan lalu lintas hingga diharapkan menjadi zero accident. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Traffic conflict technique (TCT) digunakan untuk mengolah data pada persimpangan. Hasil pengolahan data dengan metode Traffic Conflict Technique (TCT), maka didapatkan hasil bahwa Konflik untuk tingkat keseriusan yang sering terjadi adalah konflik serius. Dimana persentasi untuk konflik serius yaitu 94 % sedangkan untuk konflik yang tidak serius yaitu 6 %. Konflik-konflik tersebut melibatkan pengendara sepeda motor sebesar 100 kendaraan, pengendara kendaraan ringan sebesar 46 kendaraan dan pengendara kendaraan berat sebesar 18 kendaraan. Dimana jumlah tindakan mengerem sebesar 67 kejadian konflik, tindakan mengelak sebesar 9 kejadian konflik dan tindakan mempercepat kendaraan sebesar 6 kejadian konflik. Sehingga tingkat kecelakaan yang terjadi di simpang Bengkel Kabupaten Lombok Barat sangat tinggi.

The dust binder ratio also influences the asphalt film thickness, which plays an important role in increasing the resistance of asphalt mixture to humidity and temperature. The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of the dust binder ratio and asphalt film thickness on the volumetric properties of mixtures with various aggregate particle size distributions. Based on the analysis results, it was concluded that the dust binder ratio is inversely proportional to the thickness of the asphalt film. The dust binder ratio and asphalt film thickness had a significant effect on the volumetric properties of the mixture. The greater the value of the dust binder ratio, the more voids in the mixture, whereas the voids in the mineral aggregates and the voids filled with bitumen decreased. The thicker the asphalt film, the fewer the voids in the mix, and the voids in the mineral aggregates and those filled with bitumen increased. In this study, the volumetric properties of the mixture that met the Bina Marga specifications were obtained through the use of filler and asphalt with a dust binder ratio value between 1.2-1.32.

Abstract

From point view of earthquake engineering, the greater the mass of a structure, the greater the shear force imposed on the structures, and vice versa. To obtain a lightweight strong structure, lightweight concrete can be used instead of conventional concrete. Lightweight concrete can be made from various types of coarse aggregates, such as pumice. Smooth cracks occurred on the concrete surface due to hydration can be prevented by reducing cement content. Some amount of the cement can be replaced with natural pozzolanic which relatively easy and low-cost to produce. This research is to examine rheological and Mechanical properties of semi light-weight concrete due to partial replacement of cement content with Rice husk ash. The rice husk ash was prepared by burning Rice Husks in a furnace at a temperature of 700°±50°C for 4-hours. The chemical properties of both the Rice Husk Ash and Pumice was also tested in laboratory. In this study, the Compressive strength f’c and the Modulus of Elasticity of concrete Ec were tested with 15x30cm cylindrical specimens prepared according to SNI-1974-2011 tested at age of 28, 56 and 90 days. Based on a series of tests conducted, it was found that the Rheological properties of Semi-Light Pumice Concrete was greatly governed by the Rice Husk Ash. Furthermore, Partial cement replacement with Rice Husk Ash was potentially to be used with an optimum of 5% cement content. The compressive strength and Modulus of Elasticity of Semi Lightweight concrete are influenced by the age of the concrete testing.

Abstract

Prako Weir in East Lombok Regency has limited water availability, which affects its ability to serve the provision of irrigation water. Failure to meet irrigation water needs is increasingly felt, so adaptation steps are needed to reduce more significant losses at the farmer level. This study aims to evaluate the current cropping pattern and obtain alternative cropping patterns that are more appropriate according to water availability in Prako Weir to minimize the potential for farmer crop failure. The study began by analysing water availability by calculating the mainstay discharge using a ranking method using Prako Weir discharge data. Continued analysing water requirements in the current cropping pattern and several alternative cropping patterns using the KP-01 method. Furthermore, the best cropping pattern was selected using the water balance method. The results obtained were the best cropping pattern according to the water availability pattern in Prako Weir, namely Rice-Soybeans-Soybeans, which began planting in early October, with an annual water surplus of 775.24 l/second. Meanwhile, the current cropping pattern, Rice-Rice-Soybeans, shows an annual deficit of 625.31 lt/second. However, if economic considerations are used, then the current planting pattern is still acceptable even though it is at risk of being unable to meet its water needs. However, a solution can be taken by providing water in turns.

Abstract

Survey on the population and distribution of long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis [Raffles, 1821]) in the administrative areas of West Nusa Tenggara Province have been conducted during June-July 2024 to examine the distribution and population status on the macaque.  The on-road reconnaissance survey, interview and literature studies have applied to collect data. We recorded 6146 individuals from 307 groups of long-tailed macaques in eight regencies. Of the 6146 individuals of long-tailed macaques, 1532 individuals are recorded living in conservation area, while 4614 individuals live in outside conservation area, respectively.  The number of individuals and troops of the monkey showed us the minimum number that can be recorded. Further study needs to be conducted in addressed to dig more information on the existence of long-tailed macaque in West Nusa Tenggara. Furthermore, population information and distribution of long-tailed macaques could be the basic knowledge on the population management efforts in the future.
