Abstract

The benefits obtained if someone think critically is to make students active and effective in life, they can also develop understanding, evaluate different insights, develop problem solving skills so that later students have the ability to analyze further. The purpose of this analysis is to describe the critical thinking abilities of students in Sleman Regency. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method using an essay with 5 questions referring to indicators of critical thinking. Apart from that, the population in this analysis is all state high schools in Sleman Regency with a purposive random sampling technique of 9 schools, totaling 258 students. The results of the research show that students' critical thinking abilities are in the low category, so it is hoped that innovation will be needed in the form of developing methods, media, strategies and learning models that support students' 21st century abilities, especially in the aspect of critical thinking abilities.

Abstract

Research on educational games in learning contexts and advances in science and technology are becoming increasingly important. This research aims to analyze the use of educational games in the learning context in Indonesia, focusing on computer science and social science. The method used in this research is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), with inclusion criteria of publication period between 2018 and 2023, English language articles, article accessibility, and relevance to computer science and social sciences. The results of this research analysis include several important findings, namely: 1) the number of educational game document publications has fluctuated, 2) affiliation trends vary, 3) author trends also vary, and 4) the results of the systematic analysis show that educational games can improve student academic achievement, problem-solving abilities, creative thinking, and independent learning abilities. In addition, the role of teachers and parents is recognized as an important factor in supporting and maximizing the benefits of digital educational technology. The findings from this research emphasize the importance of designing learning that integrates educational game-based approaches to improve the quality of learning and achieve better learning outcomes for students. The implications of this research provide a basis for developing innovative and sustainable learning strategies in the fields of computer science and social sciences in Indonesia

Abstract

Dendrobium lasianthera (Orchidaceae) is one of the potential plants as ornamental plants because it has beautiful and long-lasting flowers. Propagation of orchid plants through in vitro culture technique has been widely done to meet market demand. One of the supporting factors in plant propagation through in vitro culture techniques is growth regulators. Cytokinin is one of the growth regulators commonly used in plant propagation, including orchids. The study aims to determine the effect of several cytokinins and find the best type for shoot induction of Dendrobium lasianthera. The method used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications with several types of cytokinis (control; BAP 1.2 mg/L, Kinetin 2 mg/L, and Thidiazuron 1 mg/L) in Murashige & Skoog (MS) media. The results showed that several cytokinins significantly affected the number of shoots, time of shoot appearance, and shoot length of D. lasianthera. Thidiazuron was the best cytokinin for in vitro shoot induction of D. lasianthera

Abstract

While conducting observations at SD Negeri 022 Rambah, the researcher encountered several problems faced by students and teachers at SD Negeri 022 Rambah during the learning process, the problems encountered were as follows; The science learning process that takes place at school is still not enjoyable, Teachers only use the lecture method, and Low student learning outcomes occur at SD Negeri 022 Rambah among class IV students. The treffinger learning model is a learning model that leads to critical and creative thinking skills. This research is Classroom Action Research. Data collection techniques in this research used observation sheets and tests. Data analysis techniques by analyzing data from observation sheets and tests carried out by students. The research results show an increase in learning outcomes with the application of the Treffinger learning model. In cycle 1, meeting 1, the number of students who completed 8 students became 11 students with an average score of 76.30 with a student learning completion percentage of 55%. Experiencing an increase in cycle 2, the number of students who completed 13 students at meeting 1 became 17 students with a completion percentage of 85% with an average class score of 83. It can be concluded that the application of the treffinger learning model can improve student learning outcomes at SD Negeri 022 Rambah Samo.

Abstract

Mappacci is one of a series of traditional wedding rituals of the Bugis tribe. This research aims to classify and identify various types of plants and the meaning of their use in the traditional rituals of the Bugis mappaci tribe. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research found 7 types of plants in the Mappacci traditional ritual. The plant species used are Pacar (Lawsonia inermis L), Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam), Banana (Musa paradisiaca L), Rice (Oryza sativa L), Coconut (Cocos nucifera L), Palm (Arenga pinnata Merr) and Cotton (Ceiba pentandra) which includes 6 families, namely Lythraceae, Moraceae, Musaceae, Poaceae, Arecaceae, Bombacaceae. The plant parts used are leaves (75%), fruit (50%), seeds (25%), sap (25%). The plants used in the Mappacci traditional rituals of the Bugis tribe have a philosophical meaning of goodness. Community knowledge in the use of these plants is a tradition passed down from generation to generation from their ancestors

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is an infectious disease, if we pay attention to the various characteristics of disease transmission, then the form of transmission from the agent is a very important form because the nature of this disease is more often endemic and spreads more easily in society. In Indonesia, the spread of HIV/AIDS occurs evenly in almost all provinces. The prevalence of HIV cases in the population aged 15 - 49 years has increased. This research aims to produce E-Booklet. This type of research is development research using a 4-D model. The development stage of this model starts from the define stage, design stage and develop stage. The instruments used in this development research were student, lecturer questionnaires and validation sheets E-Booklet by experts, as well as a practicality assessment sheet E-Booklet filled by students and lecturers. The research results show that E-Bookletvery valid with an average score of 86.01%. The practicality assessment of students in the field trial (group evaluation size) was with a score of 95.00% with very practical criteria, and the practicality assessment by the lecturer obtained a score of 93.00% with very practical criteria. Can be concluded that E-Booklet that has been developed is included in the very valid and very practical category.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of STEM knowledge for pre-service science and mathematics teachers in the 21st century. This research aims to analyze the STEM knowledge of pre-service science and mathematics teachers. The research method was carried out by distributing questionnaires with STEM knowledge indicators to the sample. The sample in this research was 86. They were 59 pre-service science teachers and 27 pre-service mathematics teachers, with different years of education, namely the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year of Universitas Negeri Semarang. The results of this research show that the average understanding of pre-service science and mathematics teachers regarding to the STEM-based learning in the definition aspect is 4.11, objectives are 3.94, benefits are 3.94, aspects are 3.69, components are 3.71, characteristics is 3.75, and implementation is 3.86. This proves that pre-service science and mathematics teachers' understanding of the definition of STEM-based learning is very good, while pre-service science and mathematics teachers' understanding of the objectives, benefits, aspects, components, characteristics, and implementation of STEM-based learning is good.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness and effect size of project-based learning (PjBL) model embedded with entrepreneurship in online physics learning to improve the physics application ability of senior high school students; and to describe students' responses to the entrepreneurship embedded PjBL model. This was a quasi-experimental study. The experimental design used was the clustered pretest-posttest controlled group design, which involved two groups and the sampling was carried out in clusters. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Mlati Yogyakarta on the subject of Elasticity and Hooke's Law. Data collection techniques in this study used tests and questionnaires. Data analysis utilized descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of the study showed that the application of the entrepreneurship embedded PjBL model was effective for improving students’ physics application ability in the moderate category. The effect size of the entrepreneurship embedded PjBL model towards the physics application ability was in the moderate category. Finally, the student responses toward the entrepreneurship embedded PjBL model were in the very good category.

Abstract

Metacognitive knowledge refers to what is known about memory function and the strengths and weaknesses of one's own cognition. This research aims to describe the influence of the problem-based learning model on the metacognitive knowledge and learning outcomes of class IX junior high school students. The research was carried out on Class IX students of Palu City Middle School, the entire population of Class IX consisted of three classes with a total of 45 students. Two classes were used as samples determined based on purposive sampling. Metacognitive knowledge data was obtained through questionnaires and learning outcome data through essay and multiple choice tests. Data analysis used an independent t-test with the help of SPPS version 25.0. The results showed that metacognitive knowledge with conventional learning was significantly lower than the PBL class with a gain of t(25) = 9.289, p < 0.000 and learning outcomes in the conventional class were significantly lower than the PBL class with a gain of t(25) = 4.520, p < 0.000. The conclusion of this research is that there is an influence of the problem-based learning model on the metacognitive knowledge and learning outcomes of class IX SMP students

Abstract

The Control of Culex sp. using synthetic larvicides is harmful to the environment and human health. Biolarvicide from red shoot leaves (Syzygium myrtifolium) is a safe alternative for the environment and human health. This study aims to determine the effect of Syzygium myrtifolium leaves extract with ethanol solvent and water solvent on larval mortality and the LC50 values of these extracts. ANOVA test results (α = 0.05) on the mortality of Culex sp. larvae exposed to the ethanol extract and aqueous extract of S. myrtifolium leaves consecutively showed F-calculated (287)>F-tabulated (3,11) and F-calculated (153)>F-tabulated (3, 11). The treatment of S. myrtifolium leaves extract with ethanol and water solvents had a significant effect on the mortality of Culex sp. larvae. The LC50 value of the ethanol extract and the aqueous extract of S. myrtifolium leaves are 1659 ppm and was 2053.7 ppm. It can be concluded that S. myrtifolium leaves extracts with ethanol solvent and water solvent have an effect on the mortality of Culex sp. larvae, but are not yet effective as biolarvicide
