Abstract

Article Leaders are the determinants of the security and comfort of the institutions they lead, this study aims to analyze and explore the policies of leaders in countering radicalism in Islamic universities which include policies for new students, students who are already studying and policies for Lecturers and Education Staff. This study uses a qualitative approach involving researchers as research instruments. In data collection, the rector is a key informant. Other informants are selected based on the snowball sampling technique. This process continues until the data is saturated. In addition to interviews, research data is collected through observation and written documents. The collected data is analyzed following the steps proposed by Miles and Huberman (1984), such as data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions (illustration/verification). More specifically, data validation is carried out through triangulation. The results of the study show that the leader's policy for new students starts from students entering to fill out a google form created by the religious moderation house, in PBAK they are equipped with Islamic values that are rahmatan lilalamin and are required to reside in the ma'had and madin for one year, the policy for students who are already in college through the tridharma of higher education, namely learning that inserts religious moderation values, through KKN and research and the leader's policy for lecturers and education personnel by participating in religious moderation workshops, especially for young lecturers and new education staff.

Abstract

The transformation of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum in Indonesia has undergone significant changes from the pre-independence period to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to analyze the development of the PAI curriculum through a socio-historical approach. Data collection was carried out through documentary studies. A qualitative approach was used in this research to explore the curriculum change process influenced by various social and historical factors. The analysis was conducted using curriculum transformation theories and sociological approaches to education. The findings of this study indicate that the PAI curriculum has evolved in line with the social and political dynamics in Indonesia, starting from the colonial era, independence, to the reform era, culminating in the Merdeka Curriculum. Factors such as the roles of key figures, government policies, and global influences have played a part in shaping the direction of this curriculum policy. The findings of this research provide insights into how the transformation of the PAI curriculum in Indonesia supports the development of character and religious understanding among the younger generation.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation in education has brought significant challenges and opportunities, particularly in integrating technology to improve learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in enhancing student learning outcomes, focusing on the Education Management course. Using a quasi-experimental design, the research involved 18 students who underwent pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes, with the average post-test score (80.67) significantly higher than the pre-test score (54.89), supported by statistical analysis (sig. 0.000). The findings align with Al-Fraihat et al. (2020) and Sun et al. (2008), emphasizing the importance of LMS usability, content quality, and integration with active learning strategies. However, challenges such as the digital divide and lack of face-to-face interaction need addressing through equitable access to technology and hybrid learning models. The study concludes that LMS is an effective tool for digital learning transformation, recommending continuous content development, training, and periodic evaluation to maximize its potential.

Abstract

This study explores the shifting paradigms in instructional strategies by examining the application of the Flipped Classroom model within the framework of Open and Distance Learning (ODL). Utilizing a literature review method, this research analyzes scholarly articles, books, and previous studies relevant to the integration of flipped learning in virtual and remote educational settings. The data were processed through systematic reduction, organization, interpretation, and synthesis. Findings indicate that the Flipped Classroom approach significantly enhances student learning outcomes in ODL environments. By encouraging students to engage with instructional materials prior to scheduled sessions, this model transforms traditional passive learning into active participation. Students demonstrated positive responses toward the approach, citing increased preparedness and deeper understanding during synchronous interactions. The integration of video-based content and digital platforms supports a more flexible, accessible, and student-centered learning process. Furthermore, the synergy between the Flipped Classroom model and ODL enables a learning experience that is not constrained by time or space, aligning with the demands of 21st-century education. Educational experts emphasize that this paradigm shift promotes greater engagement, improved comprehension, and higher academic achievement through more interactive and efficient use of instructional time.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research investigated the effectiveness of the peer interaction strategy in enhancing tenth-grade students’ speaking skills at SMA Islam Sabilunnajah. Conducted over two cycles with seven meetings, including six treatment sessions, the study followed the stages of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The results demonstrated significant improvement, with the average score rising from 67.4 in cycle 1 (52.4% meeting the minimum competency criterion) to 75.8 in cycle 2 (80% meeting the criterion). The findings indicate that peer interaction fosters a more engaging and supportive classroom environment, making it an effective approach for improving speaking skills. This study provides valuable insights into systematically implementing peer interaction in EFL classrooms, offering educators innovative, socially interactive learning strategies to enhance students’ confidence and proficiency in English communication.

Abstract

This research examines the high-frequency vocabulary knowledge of students at Manado State Institute of Islamic Studies utilizing a corpus-based approach. By applying quantitative research design and utilizing the AntWordProfiler software as the mean for generating statistical data of the vocabulary, the research identifies and analyzes the students’ lexical proficiency within the first and second General Service Lists (GSL). The results indicate that students demonstrated limited mastery of high-frequency words, covering only 18% of GSL 1 and 10% of GSL 2, with an overall inclusion of merely 15% across both lists. These findings highlight a critical gap in students' foundational English vocabulary, which has significant implications for English language teaching and curriculum development at the institution. To improve language acquisition outcomes, tailored vocabulary instruction strategies and curriculum adjustments are suggested to enhance students' mastery of high-frequency vocabulary.
