Abstract

This study is motivated by the high number of non-linear teachers at MTs S Ma’unah Sari, Pamenang District, Merangin Regency, Jambi, where 5 out of 10 teachers teach subjects that do not match their educational background. This condition is not supported by specific coaching programs from the principal, resulting in suboptimal development of non-linear teachers’ professional competence. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of the principal’s leadership, the efforts undertaken, and the challenges faced in improving the professional competence of non-linear teachers. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data sources consist of the principal, the vice principal, and non-linear teachers. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The findings indicate that the principal’s leadership has not provided targeted, needs-based coaching for non-linear teachers. The efforts made are limited to giving motivation, directing teachers to join MGMP (subject teacher forums), and utilizing general workshops that are not specifically designed for non-linear teaching challenges. Teachers largely improve their competence independently through self-learning and consulting senior teachers. Major challenges include limited subject mastery, weak IT skills, minimal learning facilities, and budget constraints. In conclusion, the professional development of non-linear teachers is strongly influenced by the effectiveness of the principal’s leadership. More structured, intensive, and needs-oriented coaching is required to ensure non-linear teachers can teach professionally.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis kekuatan dan kelemahan guru dalam menerapkan Kurikulum Merdeka di SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi dengan melibatkan guru, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, dan kepala sekolah yang ditentukan melalui purposive dan snowball sampling. Analisis data menggunakan Model Miles dan Huberman serta diperdalam melalui analisis SWOT untuk memetakan kondisi internal secara objektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru memiliki pemahaman yang baik terhadap komponen utama Kurikulum Merdeka seperti diferensiasi, modul ajar, dan asesmen formatif. Guru juga memperoleh dukungan melalui kolaborasi MGMP dan komunitas belajar sekolah serta kepemimpinan yang mendukung. Pemahaman guru yang belum merata, pemanfaatan teknologi yang terbatas serta pelaksanaan kokurikuler yang belum konsisten menjadi kendala dalam pengimpelmentasian kurikulum merdeka. Keterbatasan sarana digital serta beban administrasi turut menjadi hambatan dalam pelaksanaan kurikulum. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa kompetensi guru berada pada tingkat cukup hingga baik, namun memerlukan pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan khususnya dalam penguasaan teknologi, pengembangan modul, serta penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of visionary leadership on institutional reputation in higher education, with strategic values and digital capability serving as mediating variables. A quantitative approach was applied using SEM-PLS based on 280 simulated (dummy) data points, constructed realistically to follow common empirical patterns in educational management research. The results indicate that visionary leadership significantly influences strategic values (β = 0.649) and digital capability (β = 0.605), yet it does not have a significant direct effect on institutional reputation (p > 0.05). Institutional reputation is strongly influenced by strategic values (β = 0.514) and digital capability (β = 0.332). Moreover, digital capability significantly mediates the relationship between visionary leadership and institutional reputation. The model demonstrates strong predictive power with an R² value of 0.693. These findings suggest that the reputation of educational institutions in the digital era relies heavily on the implementation of strategic values and the effectiveness of digital capability development. The study recommends strengthening value-based management and accelerating digital transformation to improve institutional reputation.

Abstract

Kesenjangan sosial ekonomi merepresentasikan tantangan struktural persisten dalam pembangunan perkotaan Indonesia, di mana akselerasi pertumbuhan ekonomi tidak berbanding lurus dengan distribusi kesejahteraan yang ekuitable. Koefisien Gini Pekanbaru mencapai 0,392 pada tahun 2023, mengindikasikan ketimpangan distributif yang substansial. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi dinamika kesenjangan di Kelurahan Simpang Baru melalui investigasi mendalam terhadap bentuk stratifikasi, determinan pembentuk, manifestasi empiris, serta implikasi sosial yang ditimbulkan. Metodologi kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus diimplementasikan, mengintegrasikan triangulasi data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan purposive sampling, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumenter. Analisis dilakukan secara sistematis melalui kondensasi data, presentasi naratif, hingga verifikasi temuan dengan kerangka teoretis stratifikasi sosial. Temuan mengidentifikasi tiga strata ekonomi dengan karakteristik distingtif, dibentuk oleh disparitas kepemilikan aset produktif, ketimpangan akses pendidikan, segmentasi pasar kerja, dan gentrifikasi properti. Kesenjangan termanifestasi dalam diferensiasi kualitas hunian, aksesibilitas layanan kesehatan, dan peluang pendidikan, mengakibatkan reproduksi kemiskinan intergenerasi dan erosi kohesi sosial. Riset ini menghasilkan rekomendasi kebijakan holistik multidimensional berbasis keadilan spasial untuk mencapai pertumbuhan inklusif dan pemerataan kesejahteraan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan TikTok terhadap perkembangan kemampuan bahasa formal pada siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex post facto. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang dibagikan kepada siswa kelas V dan VI MI Muhammadiyah 11 Bara Baraya dan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal. Uji hipotesis dengan uji sampel independen menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan TikTok tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan bahasa formal siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun TikTok digunakan secara intensif oleh siswa, faktor lain dalam lingkungan pendidikan lebih dominan dalam mempengaruhi kemampuan bahasa formal mereka.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of social institutions as agents of educational socialization in shaping the character, values, and behavior of learners. Education not only takes place formally in schools, but also through social institutions such as families, communities, religious organizations, and mass media that have a significant influence on individual development. The research method used is the study of literature by analyzing a variety of relevant literature on the function of social institutions in the educational process. The results showed that social institutions act as a liaison between individuals and their social environment through the process of internalization of values, norms, and culture. In addition, social institutions help expand the learning experience of students, strengthen formal education, and instill social skills needed in community life. Thus, social institutions are not only supporters of formal education, but also serve as strategic partners in shaping human character, knowledge, and noble character.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine how Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning can be a means of internalizing religious moderation, which will influence the emotional and behavioral control of fourth-grade students at SDN 81 Mallusesalo. The importance of religious moderation lies in its ability to foster an attitude of tolerance, balance, and respect for differences since children are in elementary school. In this study, the method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of this study indicate that the integration of religious moderation values ​​​​in PAI learning can have a significant impact, students are able to develop the ability to control emotions, demonstrate mutual respect, and build more positive behavior in daily interactions. In addition, teachers play a crucial role in designing contextual learning strategies that emphasize the practice of tolerance, justice, and togetherness. Therefore, PAI learning not only functions as a means of transferring religious knowledge, but also as a medium for character formation that aligns with the values ​​​​of religious moderation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan strategi yang tepat dalam proses rekrutmen dan seleksi tenaga pendidik di SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda, Kalimantan Timur. Dalam prosesnya penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang diuraikan secara deskriptif dengan sumber data yang terdiri dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Proses pengambilan data dengan menggunakan subjek penelitian yang diperoleh dari 3 informan utama, yaitu 1 kepala sekolah, 1 wakil kepala sekolah bidang Humas dan 1 guru. Pengolajan data menggunakan uji kredibilitas data dalam yaitu dengan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses rekrutmen dan seleksi di SMA Negeri 11 Samarinda telah dilaksanakan berdasarkan prinsip transparansi, objektivitas, dan kompetensi, meskipun terdapat tantangan dalam hal keterbatasan fasilitas pelatihan dan beban administrasi guru. Kepala sekolah berperan sentral dalam perencanaan kebutuhan guru, sedangkan wakil kepala sekolah memastikan pelaksanaan teknis dan guru menjadi pelaksana kebijakan yang berorientasi pada peningkatan profesionalisme. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa sinergi antarkomponen sekolah melalui pendekatan sistem menjadi kunci keberhasilan manajemen pendidikan yang berkelanjutan Kata kunci : Strategi, Rekrutmen dan seleksi, Tenaga Pendidik, dan SMA Negeri

Abstract

This study aims to implement a multimedia-based Drill and Practice learning model to improve the critical thinking abilities of third-grade students in mathematics at SD Negeri 3 Braja Harjosari. The problem identified in the classroom was the low development of students’ critical thinking skills, which was addressed by integrating an interactive and technology-supported learning approach. The implementation was conducted over three sessions using a mathematics learning application designed for structured practice, accompanied by teacher explanation, independent exercises, and feedback discussions. The study employed pretest–posttest design, including N-Gain and paired sample t-test analyses. The results show significant improvements in students’ performance, with average posttest scores increasing from 65–70 to 85–95. The N-Gain score of 0.681 indicates a medium-to-high level of improvement, while the paired sample t-test revealed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05). The multimedia Drill and Practice model effectively strengthened students’ conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and motivation through repetitive exercises, immediate feedback, and engaging visualizations. Challenges such as technical difficulties and test anxiety were resolved through additional guidance and more flexible assessment approaches. The findings suggest that the multimedia Drill and Practice model is a beneficial instructional strategy for enhancing critical thinking in elementary mathematics learning and is recommended for broader application with further integration of active learning and project-based activities.

Abstract

: This study aims to improve the listening skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 76 Tarowang through the implementation of the cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS). This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 8 fourth-grade students of SDN 76 Tarowang. The instruments used were observation sheets for teacher and student activities and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the application of the cooperative learning model type TPS could improve students' listening skills. This was evidenced by the increase in the average learning outcomes from 30% in the pre-cycle to 37.6% in the first cycle and significantly to 81.25% in the second cycle. Thus, the cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share (TPS) can be an effective alternative to improve the listening skills of elementary school students.
