Abstract

This study was motivated by the common problem of students’ lack of responsibility, which contributes to low learning outcomes, particularly in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak at State Islamic Senior High School 2 Muaro Jambi. The purpose of this research was to analyze the values of responsibility character developed through scouting activities and their role in improving students’ learning outcomes. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of Aqidah Akhlak teachers as key informants, scout instructors and the principal as supporting informants, and students of class XI 1 and XI 2 as respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that students’ learning outcomes varied; although most students achieved the Minimum Completeness Criteria (75), some remained below the standard. Students who demonstrated responsible behaviors—such as completing assignments on time, participating actively in class, and avoiding academic dishonesty—tended to achieve higher scores. Scouting activities fostered responsibility through self-discipline, accountability to others, and active participation. Supporting factors included students’ interest, instructors’ competence, institutional support, facilities, and parental involvement, while inhibiting factors involved lack of discipline, absenteeism, and peer influence. Efforts to strengthen responsibility values were conducted through advice, role modeling, task assignment, punishment, and reward systems. These findings indicate that the cultivation of responsibility character through scouting activities contributes positively to improving students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

The School Field Introduction Program (PLP) is an academic activity designed to provide university students with direct experience in teaching practices within school environments while also contributing to the improvement of learning quality in partner educational institutions. This activity was conducted at SMP Imam Bukhori, Yayasan Said Muhammad Abu Bakar Al-Jufri Batam, for one month, from January 6 to February 7, 2026. This study aims to describe the implementation of Arabic language learning assistance for Phase D students during the PLP program. The implementation was carried out through several stages, including observation of the school environment, preparation of instructional materials, implementation of Arabic language learning in the classroom, and evaluation of the learning process. Learning assistance was conducted using a teaching module with the theme of ta’aruf (introductions), which was implemented through a communicative approach and supported by interactive learning media. The results indicate that the learning assistance increased students’ engagement in the learning process and encouraged them to use Arabic more actively in conversational activities and group discussions. In addition, the implementation of PLP contributed to the improvement of students’ pedagogical competence, particularly in classroom management, preparation of teaching modules, and the application of communicative learning strategies. However, several challenges were still encountered, including differences in students’ ability levels and limited instructional time. Therefore, more varied and contextual learning strategies are needed to ensure that the Arabic language learning process can be implemented more effectively and optimally

Abstract

This research is motivated by the declining practice of the Khatam Al-Qur'an tradition, especially among the younger generation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Qur'an teachers, students from Generation Alpha, and parents in Sungai Jambat Village. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative techniques through the interpretation of field data to answer the research questions. The results of the study show that Qur'an teachers have made various efforts to revive the Khatam Al-Qur'an tradition, including active mentoring, instilling discipline, providing consistent motivation, and involving parental support. Supporting factors include the patient and careful guidance of the teachers, adequate facilities, parental involvement, and the students’ internal motivation. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include excessive use of mobile phones, limited ability to read the Qur'an among some students, students who stop before completing their recitation, and students’ responsibilities in helping their parents. Although there are no students who have completed reciting the full 30 juz yet, this research found several forms of success, such as improved fluency and quality in reading the Qur'an, increased motivation to continue reading, improved discipline and attendance, the formation of reading habits outside learning hours, and increased religious awareness in daily life. This study concludes that Qur'an teachers play a very important role in reviving the Khatam Al-Qur'an tradition, although support and cooperation from parents, the community, and the government are still needed.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Aptitude Treatment Interaction (ATI) learning model assisted by Arga Laragasil media in improving learning activities and learning outcomes in Civic Education (PKn) among elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental design involving third-grade students of SD Islam Al Azhar 34 Makassar. Data were collected through observation of students’ learning activities and tests of learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing through a t-test to determine the effect of the ATI model implementation on students’ learning outcomes. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the ATI model assisted by Arga Laragasil media significantly improved students’ learning activities during the learning process. This improvement is reflected in the increased participation of students in discussions, group work, and classroom learning activities. Furthermore, the analysis of the learning outcome data shows that the average score of students increased after the implementation of the ATI model compared to the scores obtained before the implementation. The hypothesis testing results also reveal a significant effect of the ATI model assisted by Arga Laragasil media on students’ Civic Education learning outcomes. The improvement is influenced by the learning strategy that adjusts instructional treatment according to students’ abilities and the use of engaging and contextual learning media. Therefore, the ATI learning model assisted by Arga Laragasil media can be considered an effective alternative instructional strategy to improve the quality of Civic Education learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study discusses the learning of speaking skills at the Mamba’ul Ma’arif Denanyar Jombang Islamic boarding school from the perspective of Nasir Abdul Ghalli and Abdul Hamid Abdullah. This study aims to examine the learning of speaking skills through the book Al-Hiwar Bayna Yadayk, from the perspectives of Nasir Abdul Ghalli and Abdul Hamid Abdullah, and to identify its advantages. This study uses a qualitative case study approach. The study’s subjects were speaking skills teachers, male class XI students, and male dormitory supervisors. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana models. The results of the study indicate that: 1) speaking skills learning takes place in accordance with the learning principles of Nasir Abdul Ghalli and Abdul Hamid Abdullah. 2) The advantages of the book Al Hiwar Bayna Yadayk are the use of language that is easy to understand, a relatively simple sentence structure (tarkib), material that is relevant to learning needs, each chapter contains new vocabulary (mufradat), and the vocabulary presented is applicable and can be used in everyday communication

Abstract

Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning on the topic of changes in the states of matter in elementary schools requires teaching materials that can help students understand concepts clearly and in an engaging way. However, based on the results of observations at SD Swasta Pelangi Medan, the teaching materials used are still limited to textbooks and Student Worksheets (LKPD), so the presentation of the material is less interesting and is not supported by varied learning media. In addition, limited facilities such as the unavailability of projectors cause the use of technology-based teaching materials to not be implemented optimally. This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Canva-based Science Mini Book teaching materials on the topic of changes in the states of matter in grade IV of SD Swasta Pelangi Medan. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were 20 fourth-grade students of SD Swasta Pelangi Medan. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The results showed that the Science Mini Book teaching material obtained a validation percentage of 86% from media experts, 90% from material experts, 96% from education practitioners, and a student response percentage of 97.4%, with an overall average of 92.35% which is categorized as very feasible. Therefore, the Canva-based Science Mini Book teaching material is declared valid, practical, and effective so that it is feasible to be used in IPAS learning on the topic of changes in the states of matter in grade IV of elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of using the Nearpod application on the interest in learning history among Grade XI IPS students at SMAS Mujahidin Pontianak. The research method employed was a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design, specifically the posttest-only control group design. The population of this study consisted of all Grade XI IPS students at SMAS Mujahidin Pontianak, totaling 137 students. The sample comprised two groups, namely the experimental class and the control class, which were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted using the Mann–Whitney U test. The results of the study show that: (1) the interest in learning history of students who participated in learning using the Nearpod application was categorized as very high, with a percentage score of 81% in the experimental class; (2) the interest in learning history of students who participated in learning without using the Nearpod application was categorized as high, with a percentage score of 72% in the control class; and (3) based on the results of the Mann–Whitney U test, a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.008 < 0.05 was obtained, along with an average percentage score of 80%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Nearpod application has a significant effect on the learning interest of Grade XI IPS students.

Abstract

Pedagogical competence is an essential ability that must be possessed by education program students as prospective teachers. Field observations indicate that not all students optimally utilize school observation activities, and there are differences in students’ learning motivation during lectures. This condition is suspected to affect the development of students’ pedagogical competence. This study aims to examine the relationship between the intensity of school observations and learning motivation with students’ pedagogical competence. A quantitative approach was applied using a correlational method. The study involved 43 students as respondents. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 36 items covering three research variables: school observation intensity, learning motivation, and students’ pedagogical competence. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics through a series of tests including validity, reliability, normality, correlation, and multiple regression analyses. The study found a positive relationship between school observation intensity and students’ pedagogical competence, as well as a positive association between learning motivation and pedagogical competence. Regression analysis indicated that school observation intensity and learning motivation collectively contributed to students’ pedagogical competence, with a coefficient of determination of 0.547 or 54.7%. These findings suggest that school observation intensity and learning motivation play a significant role in enhancing pedagogical competence among prospective teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using fill-in-the-blank storyboard media based on educational mobile games on the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SD Inpres Mallengkeri Bertingkat. The type of research used is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design, namely an experiment involving one class without a comparison class. The population in this study were all fourth-grade students at SD Inpres Mallengkeri Bertingkat, totaling 26 students and also used as research samples. Data collection techniques used include observation, tests, and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that the use of fill-in-the-blank storyboard media based on educational mobile games had an effect on students' reading comprehension skills. This was seen from the increase in student learning outcomes between pretest and posttest scores. Before being given treatment, students' reading comprehension skills were still relatively low and most students had not reached the minimum completion criteria (KKM). However, after the application of fill-in-the-blank storyboard media based on educational mobile games, student learning outcomes increased significantly and all students had achieved learning completion. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using a paired sample t-test, a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained, thus H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of fill-in-the-blank storyboard media based on educational mobile games significantly influenced the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students at SD Inpres Mallengkeri Bertingkat.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study explains that the principal’s transformational leadership has been implemented in an effort to improve teachers’ work discipline at SMP Negeri 1 Doloksanggul. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of the principal’s transformational leadership on teachers’ work discipline at SMP Negeri 1 Doloksanggul in the 2025/2026 academic year. The method used in this research is an inferential quantitative method. The population in this study consisted of all teachers of SMP Negeri 1 Doloksanggul, totaling 50 people, and this research used a population study. The research instrument was a closed questionnaire. The results of the data analysis show that there is a positive and significant influence of the principal’s transformational leadership on teachers’ work discipline, and the principal’s transformational leadership has been implemented at SMP Negeri 1 Doloksanggul in the 2025/2026 academic year. This is proven through the following data analysis: (1) Analysis prerequisite tests: (a) the normality test obtained an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.200 > 0.05; (b) the linearity test obtained a significance value of deviation from linearity of 0.368 > 0.05. (2) Hypothesis testing: (a) the correlation test between variables X and Y obtained rxy = 0.323 > rtable = 0.279, indicating a positive relationship between variable X and variable Y; (b) the significance test obtained tcount = 2.363 > ttable = 2.021, indicating a significant relationship between variable X and variable Y; (c) the regression equation test obtained the regression equation Ŷ = 51.336 + 0.390X; (d) the coefficient of determination test (r²) = 10.4%; (e) hypothesis testing using the F test obtained Fcount > Ftable, namely 5.584 > 4.08. Thus, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that the study concludes that there is a positive and significant influence of transformational leadership on teachers’ performance at SMP Negeri 1 Doloksanggul in the 2025/2026 academic year, with a contribution of 10.4%. Transformational leadership itself is a leadership style that inspires and motivates members of an organization to achieve higher performance and organizational goals through vision, motivation, and positive change.
