Abstract

This study aims to analyze adolescent character, the role of the Youth Mosque Management of Nurul Tarbiyah Abdul Aziz, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in shaping adolescent character in Pasarwajo Village. This research uses a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving mosque youth administrators, community leaders, and local residents as informants. The results show that adolescent character in Pasarwajo Village is diverse; some adolescents demonstrate positive traits such as politeness, social awareness, and active participation in religious activities, while others show low discipline and limited involvement in positive activities. The Youth Mosque Management plays a significant role in shaping adolescent character through religious activities, guidance, social engagement, and by acting as role models and social controllers. Supporting factors include community support, family involvement, and mosque facilities, while inhibiting factors include low interest among adolescents, negative peer influence, and uncontrolled use of technology. Therefore, collaboration between mosque youth organizations, families, and the community is essential to develop better adolescent character.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences and effects of implementing the Inquiry Learning model assisted by the "Papan Tambah Ajaib" media on the mathematical concept comprehension abilities of 2nd-grade elementary school students. The main problem underlying this study is the low conceptual understanding of students at SD Negeri Pagersari 02, which is still below the Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP), as well as the learning process that tends to be teacher-centered without the use of concrete media. The research method used is a quantitative approach with an experimental method. Data collection instruments include tests (pretest and posttest), questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Data analysis techniques are carried out using the Independent Sample T-test to see differences between groups and the Simple Linear Regression test to determine the influence of variables. The research results indicate that there is a significant difference between the students' conceptual understanding abilities in the experimental class and the control class, proven by a calculated significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. Furthermore, the simple linear regression test produced a significance value of 0.027 < 0.05 and an F value of 5.778, which means that the Inquiry Learning model assisted by the Magic Addition Board media has a positive and significant effect on students' conceptual understanding abilities. Thus, the implementation of this model and media is very efficient and effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning in grade 2 elementary school.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low arithmetic skills of second-grade students at Inpres Bontoala I in the area of addition, which were attributed to conventional teaching methods and a lack of concrete learning materials. This study aims to determine the effect of using number cards on students’ arithmetic skills. The method used was quantitative research with a quasi-experimental approach employing a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, selected using purposive sampling. Tests (pretest and posttest), observations, and documentation were used to collect data, which was then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed an improvement in calculation skills in the experimental class, with a posttest average of 74.31 compared to 69.19 in the comparison class. Additionally, student learning activities in the experimental class fell into the active category. Meanwhile, the calculated t-value of 2.036 at a significance level of 0.05 yielded a calculated t-value > table t-value, specifically 2.036 > 1.99897. Therefore, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means there is a significant effect of the use of number card media on arithmetic skills in the addition material for second-grade students at SD Inpres Bontoala I.

Abstract

Indonesian proverbs represent a form of cultural heritage that embodies societal values, norms, and worldviews. The metaphorical frameworks of these proverbs describe how Indonesians perceive and understand reality. However, the usage of proverbs in teaching Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) is still limited. This article examines the metaphorical construction of cultural identity embedded in Indonesian proverbs and investigates their relevance for BIPA instruction, particularly at the intermediate to advanced levels, in fostering cultural literacy and intercultural competence among foreign learners. This study employs a thematic analysis approach to Indonesian proverbs by identifying recurring metaphorical patterns. Categorization is used to better understand the relationship between proverbs and broader Indonesian cultural themes. The research identifies seven key metaphorical domains: (1) family and kinship, (2) nature and the environment, (3) social harmony and collectivity, (4) caution and wisdom, (5) human emotions and interpersonal connections, (6) knowledge and experience, and (7) fate and human limitations. These domains show how abstract cultural values like morality, responsibility, and resilience are understood using concrete and familiar cultural images. Integrating proverbs into the BIPA curriculum can enhance learners’ linguistic competence while deepening their understanding of Indonesian cultural identity. With their clear metaphorical foundations, proverbs can serve as effective pedagogical instruments for linking language, culture, and intercultural understanding in Indonesian language education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Arabic in daily activities at TPQ Al-Kautsar Kayen Pacitan based on observation data and interviews with teachers. This research is motivated by the importance of learning Arabic from an early age as a foundation for understanding Islamic teachings and efforts to improve the linguistic competence of students through a habituation approach. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to describe the phenomenon systematically and factually according to field conditions. The data collection technique was carried out through direct observation of learning activities and semi-structured interviews with three teachers, namely Syaifullah, Zainal Abidin, and Ahmad Syahroni. Observations were focused on the use of Arabic in daily activities, teaching methods, and student responses and skill development. Data is analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study showed that the implementation of Arabic was carried out through the habit of opening and closing greetings, daily prayers, simple expressions, and class instructions in Arabic. The methods used include memorization of mufradat, drilling, simple questions and answers, and educational songs and games to increase learning motivation. The response of the students tends to be positive, characterized by an increase in mastery of basic vocabulary, understanding the meaning of prayer, and courage in having simple conversations. The main obstacles are differences in students' abilities and limited learning time, which are overcome through regular repetition, individual approaches, and the application of cooperative learning between students. This study concludes that the habituation of Arabic in daily activities in a consistent and structured manner is effective in improving the basic Arabic language skills of TPQ Al-Kautsar students, especially in terms of vocabulary and courage to speak. This implementation has the potential to become a habituation-based Arabic learning model in other non-formal educational institutions.

Abstract

Arabic is the source language of the Qur'an and hadith which is the main reference in Islamic da'wah activities. The mastery of Arabic by dai is an important factor in maintaining the accuracy of the meaning and quality of delivering religious messages to the community. However, the reality on the ground shows that not all dai have adequate Arabic language skills. This study aims to describe the urgency of mastery of Arabic for dai in the delivery of the Qur'an and hadith in Purwoasri Village, Pacitan. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consist of dai and religious education figures. The results of the study show that the limited mastery of Arabic causes dependence on translation, the potential for misinterpretation, changes in meaning due to reading errors, and low understanding of the congregation. Therefore, mastery of the Arabic language, at least passively, is an urgent need for the dai to improve the quality of da'wah and maintain the purity of the meaning of the Qur'an and hadith in society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the implementation of Matan Al-Jazariyah in teaching Mahāratul Kalām at Ar Royyan Islamic Boarding School and to examine its impact on improving students’ Arabic speaking skills. The background of this study is based on the importance of phonological aspects particularly the accuracy of makhārijul ḥurūf (points of articulation) and ṣifātul ḥurūf (characteristics of letters) as a foundation in speaking skills (kalām). Matan Al-Jazariyah, composed by Ibnu al-Jazari, has long been recognized as a primary reference in the science of tajwid; however, in this pesantren, it is applied integratively in Arabic speaking instruction. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including participatory observation and in-depth interviews with Madrasah Aliyah students. Data analysis is conducted through stages of data reduction, data display, and inductive conclusion drawing. Data validity is strengthened through technique triangulation between observation and interview results. The findings reveal that the implementation of Matan Al-Jazariyah is carried out through systematic stages: (1) memorization of naẓm (versified text), (2) understanding of tajwid rules contained in each verse, and (3) pronunciation practice in activities such as muḥādathah (conversation), dialogue, presentations, and tasmi’. The teaching methods applied include talaqqi, musyāfahah (face-to-face oral transmission), drill (repetitive practice), and oral evaluation with direct correction from the teacher. This integration demonstrates a strong relationship between mastery of tajwid theory and phonetic competence in Arabic speaking skills. The impact of this implementation is reflected in the improvement of accurate articulation (makhraj), mastery of letter characteristics, correction of vowel length (mad), increased fluency in speaking, and enhanced student confidence in communicating in Arabic. Although some challenges were encountered such as difficulties in memorizing the naẓm and an initial tendency to over-focus on pronunciation affecting fluency continuous practice and a supportive Arabic language environment were able to minimize these obstacles. In conclusion, Matan Al-Jazariyah has proven to be effective as a phonological foundation in supporting Mahāratul Kalām and is relevant to be developed as an integrative model for teaching tajwid and speaking skills in Islamic boarding school contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Multimedia extracurricular program as a support for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) learning at Kumpulrejo 02 Elementary School, Salatiga. The study uses a qualitative approach with the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model to obtain a comprehensive picture of the planning, implementation, and results of the Multimedia extracurricular program. The research subjects include the principal, Multimedia extracurricular mentors, and students from grades I to VI who participate in extracurricular activities with a total of 113 students. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and document studies, while data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions with triangulation of sources and techniques. The research results indicate that, in terms of context, the Multimedia extracurricular program was implemented based on the school's needs and aligned with the school's vision and mission in addressing technological developments in the digital era. In terms of input, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, and school policy support were deemed adequate, although there were still limitations in time management and optimal facility utilization. In terms of process, the extracurricular activities proceeded according to plan, with materials on the use of Microsoft Word and Canva applications through hands-on practice using Chromebook s. In terms of product, the Multimedia extracurricular program had a positive impact on improving students' basic ICT skills, creativity, and learning interests. Based on the evaluation results, the Multimedia extracurricular program was deemed worthy of continuation with improvements to enhance the program's effectiveness and sustainability.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve descriptive essay writing skills among fourth-grade students at SDN 3 Bongomeme, Gorontalo Regency, by utilizing the surrounding environment as a learning medium. This study employed a classroom action research design conducted in two cycles. Data collection techniques included tests, observation, and documentation. The implementation process consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation and evaluation, analysis, and reflection. The subjects were 14 fourth-grade students at SDN 3 Bongomeme. The observation results indicated that the students’ descriptive essay writing skills were initially low. Of the 14 students, only 2 students (14%) demonstrated adequate ability, while 12 students (86%) had not yet achieved the expected competence. In Cycle I, Meeting I, only 4 students (28%) were able to write a descriptive essay, which increased to 9 students (64%) in Meeting II. In Cycle II, Meeting I, a significant improvement was observed, with 12 students (86%) successfully writing a descriptive essay using the surrounding environment as a learning medium. Therefore, it can be concluded that the descriptive essay writing skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 3 Bongomeme, Gorontalo Regency, improved significantly.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the learning needs based on the 2025 Education Report Card to strengthen teachers' innovation competencies in a more targeted and evidence-based manner. The methodology used is a quantitative descriptive approach through a documentation study of the 2025 Education Report data covering 1,657 junior high schools in Banten Province. The data was analyzed using gap analysis techniques by referring to the Teacher Competency Model in accordance with national regulations. The analysis process includes identifying quality indicators, mapping competency needs, and determining intervention priorities. The results showed that as many as 823 schools (49.67%) were in the low achievement category and experienced declines in various indicators, especially in the aspects of literacy (A1), numeracy (A2), innovative learning practices (D2), and education quality financing support (E2). Tangerang Regency is the area with the highest level of need in almost all indicators. These findings indicate the need to strengthen teachers' innovation competencies that focus on technology integration, learning data processing, authentic evaluation, and continuous reflection. Thus, the results of this research can be the basis for designing a more adaptive, contextual, and data-based Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program to improve the quality of education in Banten Province
