Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ poetry writing skills in supporting the Active Literacy School Program at MTs Negeri 1 Pati. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects included Indonesian language teachers, the literacy coordinator, and students of MTs Negeri 1 Pati. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of students’ poetry works. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, assisted by ATLAS.ti software for systematic coding and thematic mapping. The findings indicate that students’ poetry writing skills consist of several interrelated aspects, including theme selection based on personal experience, thematic coherence, the ability to construct imagery, mastery of figurative language, and the ability to convey messages or moral values. In general, students are able to select themes related to their personal experiences and interests, maintain consistency between theme and content, and begin to develop imagery through language involving imagination and sensory perception. However, students’ mastery of diction and figurative language varies. The Active Literacy School Program plays a significant role in supporting students’ poetry writing skills through structured literacy activities, such as literacy hours, reading habituation, creative writing activities, and the publication of students’ works. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including differences in students’ interests, limited vocabulary, and constrained instructional time. This study concludes that the Active Literacy School Program contributes positively to the development of students’ poetry writing skills, although continuous guidance is still needed to enhance linguistic quality and aesthetic aspects.

Abstract

The rapid development of the Indonesian film industry has positioned film not onlyas a medium of entertainment but also as a form of mass communication capableof conveying social and moral values. One of the films that presents these values isTabayyun directed by Ilyas Bachtiar, which portrays women's courage in confrontingsocial pressure, defending truth, and maintaining personal integrity. This study aimsto analyze the moral messages regarding women's courage represented in the filmTabayyun. A qualitative descriptive approach employing content analysis wasapplied. The data source consisted of scenes, dialogues, character actions, andvisual elements contained in the film. Data were collected through observation anddocumentation, then analyzed by identifying, classifying, interpreting, anddescribing moral messages based on three dimensions: the relationship betweenhumans and God, the relationship with oneself, and the relationship with others. Thefindings reveal 47 moral message data, with the most dominant category being therelationship between humans and others, followed by the relationship with oneselfand the relationship with God. Women's courage is represented through moralfirmness, honesty, responsibility, resilience in facing social pressure, andcommitment to truth. These findings indicate that Tabayyun constructs women'scourage not merely as physical bravery but as moral and psychological strength thatreflects universal values relevant to contemporary society. The study contributes tocommunication studies by enriching discussions on moral messages and therepresentation of women in Indonesian films.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence's (AI) rapid developmenthas drastically changed how education is conducted, especially in the teaching of maths. Teachers no longer use AI merely as an information source but increasingly employ it to design instructional materials, develop assessment tasks, create learning media, and support instructional reflection. This study aims to explore mathematics teachers' experiences in utilizing AI as a learning support tool and to identify its perceived benefits, challenges, and future prospects in educational settings. This study used a phenomenological technique in a qualitative manner. Participants consisted of mathematics teachers from junior high schools, Islamic junior high schools, and vocational high schools who had experience using AI in teaching. Data were collected through an open-ended questionnaire distributed via Google Forms and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that AI is primarily utilized to develop instructional materials, generate assessment questions, design presentation media, and access learning resources more efficiently. Teachers reported improved work efficiency and enhanced creativity in designing mathematics instruction. Nevertheless, challenges remain regarding information accuracy, prompt engineering skills, digital literacy, and the necessity of validating AI-generated outputs. The study concludes that AI has considerable potential to become a professional partner for mathematics teachers, provided that it is implemented critically, ethically, and responsibly.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of education policy at SD Negeri Muncan, Central Lombok Regency, identify the challenges and opportunities encountered, and formulate strategies to improve its effectiveness. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. Data credibility was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. The findings indicate that the implementation of educational policies, including the National Curriculum, learning assessment, character education, school digitalization, teacher professional development, and school-based management, has been carried out in accordance with government policy directions. The effectiveness of policy implementation is influenced by communication, resource availability, implementers' commitment, and a well-defined bureaucratic structure. The main challenges include disparities in teacher competence, limited facilities, administrative workload, frequent policy changes, and varying levels of parental involvement. Conversely, participatory school leadership, teachers' commitment, community support, collaborative school culture, and the use of information technology provide significant opportunities to enhance educational quality. The study highlights the importance of strengthening human resource capacity, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous evaluation to improve the effectiveness of education policy implementation at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Providing false or inaccurate information in applications for Indonesian Travel Documents may undermine the integrity of immigration services and increase the risk of Indonesian citizens departing through non-procedural channels. This phenomenon is reflected in the Special Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office of Jakarta Selatan, which rejected or postponed 604 passport applications throughout 2025 due to issues including unclear travel purposes, inconsistencies in supporting documents, and discrepancies in applicants’ statements during interviews. This study aims to analyze the role of deterrence and legal compliance in preventing the provision of false information in Indonesian Travel Document applications from the perspective of Deterrence Theory. The study employs a juridical-empirical method with a qualitative approach through literature review, analysis of legislation, documentation, observation, and interviews. The findings indicate that interviews and document verification play an important role in increasing the likelihood of detecting false or inaccurate information, while the postponement and rejection of passport applications may serve as administrative consequences that encourage legal compliance. This study recommends the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for passport services that integrate written warnings, administrative sanctions, and criminal sanctions in accordance with Article 126C of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration, as well as strengthened preventive education through integrity pacts, public outreach, educational interviews, and continuous legal education. These measures are expected to establish both general and specific deterrence while increasing public legal awareness and compliance.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has encouraged the implementation of machine translation features on various social media platforms, including TikTok. Although this feature facilitates users in understanding foreign-language content, its translation quality, particularly for Arabic–Indonesian language pairs, still requires further evaluation due to significant linguistic and cultural differences. This study aims to analyze translation errors and evaluate the quality of Arabic–Indonesian machine translation on TikTok based on three aspects: accuracy, acceptability, and readability. This research employed a qualitative approach using content analysis. The data consisted of four Arabic-language TikTok contents translated automatically by TikTok's translation feature. Data were analyzed using the translation quality assessment instrument developed by Nababan et al. (2012) and described qualitatively. The findings reveal that the overall quality of TikTok's machine translation remains low. The average accuracy score was 33,33%, indicating that most source-language meanings were not transferred correctly. The acceptability aspect obtained an average score of 46,67, showing that many translations did not conform to Indonesian linguistic norms and sounded unnatural. Meanwhile, the readability aspect achieved an average score of 53,33%, indicating that the translated texts were still difficult for readers to understand. The most dominant errors included lexical errors, contextual errors, failures in translating idiomatic expressions, and deviations from Indonesian grammatical conventions. These findings indicate that TikTok's machine translation feature has not yet been able to accurately convey Arabic messages into Indonesian, particularly for religious and context-dependent expressions, and therefore still requires human post-editing to ensure translation quality.
