Abstract

This research was motivated by students' difficulties in understanding arithmetic operations. This is influenced by the dominant lecture method used by teachers and the lack of innovative learning media, resulting in students having difficulty understanding the material and tending to be less motivated to learn. The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and practical Arithmetic Operations Board learning medium that can help students understand arithmetic operations more easily, enjoyably, and interestingly.This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the 4D development model consisting of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. However, this research is limited to the Develop stage for certain considerations. The instruments used in this study were validation sheets for material experts and media experts, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires to determine the media's practicality. The subjects of this study were fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Dane Rase, with 18 respondents. Based on the media validation results, the results obtained a score of 97.22% and the results obtained a score of 97.22% for the material validation, with the criteria being "very feasible" or "Very Valid." Meanwhile, the teacher response questionnaire results obtained a score of 95% and the student response questionnaire results obtained a score of 97.7%, with the category "Very Feasible" or "Very Practical." Therefore, the developed Arithmetic Operations Board is valid and practical, and suitable for use as an alternative mathematics learning medium in elementary schools.

Abstract

The Korean Wave (Hallyu) represents the globalization of culture that shapes cross-national consumption patterns, with K-pop as its central manifestation. This study aims to analyze the role of K-pop idols in driving consumer trends through a regional geography perspective. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using literature study by reviewing secondary sources such as journals, books, reports, and industry data. The findings reveal that K-pop idols function not only as entertainers but also as role models and brand ambassadors who influence consumption through fashion, cosmetics, and global brand collaborations. Regionally, consumption patterns vary: East Asia emphasizes physical consumption, North America highlights digitalization and hybridization, Europe prioritizes live concert experiences, while Southeast Asia demonstrates collective digital fandom contributing significantly to global streaming. These differences confirm the relevance of consumption geography theory in explaining spatial variations of popular culture. The study concludes that K-pop idols act as both cultural and economic agents shaping the consumer identity of the young generation. The limitation of this research lies in its reliance on secondary data; thus, future research is recommended to employ empirical methods such as surveys or interviews across regions to obtain deeper insights.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya filsafat pragmatisme dalam membentuk arah pendidikan modern yang berfokus pada pengalaman nyata dan kebermanfaatan praktis. Masalah yang muncul adalah perlunya pemahaman lebih mendalam mengenai bagaimana aliran pemikiran pragmatisme memengaruhi praktik pendidikan, khususnya dalam konteks Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji fondasi pemikiran pragmatis, menelaah pendekatan pendidikan yang lahir dari aliran tersebut, serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap proses pembelajaran. Metode penelitian menggunakan studi historis dan eksplorasi filosofis dengan menganalisis naskah, literatur, serta konsep-konsep yang dikembangkan tokoh utama pragmatisme, yakni John Dewey, Charles Sanders Peirce, dan William James. Analisis teoritik digunakan untuk menafsirkan relevansi gagasan tersebut dengan praktik pendidikan kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pragmatisme, dengan penekanan pada pengalaman, relevansi kontekstual, dan orientasi pada pemecahan masalah, memberikan landasan penting bagi pengembangan metode pembelajaran aktif dan partisipatif. Dalam konteks Indonesia, pengaruhnya tampak pada penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman, integrasi ilmu dengan kehidupan nyata, serta pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Selain itu, pemikiran pragmatisme juga memiliki jangkauan luas dalam bidang pedagogi sains, pembelajaran bahasa, kesehatan mental, hingga manajemen krisis, sehingga memperkuat signifikansi filsafat ini bagi dunia pendidikan dan praktik sosial secara lebih luas.

Abstract

Artikel ini menganalisis praktik manajemen pendidikan di Indonesia abad ke-21 melalui lensa humanisme dialogis Paulo Freire. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi bahwa dominasi paradigma birokratis dan teknokratis dalam manajemen sekolah telah menimbulkan berbagai ketimpangan, seperti alienasi guru, pseudo-partisipasi, kesenjangan digital, dan dehumanisasi proses pendidikan. Melalui studi kasus multipel di enam sekolah menengah, ditemukan bahwa ruang dialog, refleksi kritis, dan aksi transformatif masih sangat terbatas akibat kuatnya logika kepatuhan administratif dan budaya hierarkis. Namun, terdapat bukti bahwa integrasi prinsip-prinsip Freire—dialog, conscientização, praxis, dan liberasi—dapat mendorong transformasi manajemen pendidikan menjadi lebih partisipatif, inklusif, dan membebaskan. Artikel ini merekomendasikan perlunya reformasi administratif, penguatan kapasitas reflektif, serta pemanfaatan nilai-nilai lokal dan teknologi digital untuk mewujudkan manajemen pendidikan yang humanis dan relevan dengan kebutuhan abad 21.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model based on Malay culture with the assistance of the educational game Wordwall to improve junior high school students’ numeracy skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were 40 eighth-grade students of SMP Swasta Al Washliyah 8 Medan. The results showed that the developed MMP model based on Malay culture was valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ numeracy abilities. The model’s validity, obtained through validation by material experts, media experts, and cultural experts, reached an average of 96.6% (very valid category). The practicality of the model, assessed by teachers and students, achieved an average score of 88.6% (very practical category). The learning effectiveness was reflected in the improvement of students’ numeracy test results, with an N-Gain score of 0.86 (high category). The integration of Malay culture in mathematics learning provided a more meaningful context for students, while the use of Wordwall increased engagement and learning motivation. Therefore, this model is feasible to be implemented as an innovative learning alternative to improve students’ literacy and numeracy skills at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Low learning motivation in Arabic remains a major issue in many madrasahs, including Madrasah Aliyah Abil Hasan As-Syadzily Sidoarjo . Students exhibit low participation, weak self-confidence, and difficulty understanding materials. This study aims to analyze the causes of low motivation in learning Arabic and to formulate effective strategies for improving motivation among tenth-grade students. The research applied a qualitative descriptive approach, using open-ended questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observations. Data were analyzed through Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña’s interactive model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.The findings indicate that low motivation is influenced by intrinsic factors, such as lack of interest, low self-confidence, and perceived language difficulty, as well as extrinsic factors, including monotonous teaching methods, limited learning media, and insufficient environmental support. These factors lead to decreased participation, academic performance, and increased language anxiety. Efforts to improve motivation can be achieved through communicative and contextual teaching methods, the use of digital media based on the ARCS model (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction), and strengthened social support from teachers and the madrasah environment. The study concludes that improving Arabic learning motivation requires a holistic approach integrating psychological, pedagogical, and social aspects to create meaningful and sustainable learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the teacher code of ethics in improving the pedagogical competence of Islamic education teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darus Salam Al Islami Tebo. The research methodology is descriptive qualitative case study, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study are Islamic education teachers. The results of this study prove that the implementation of the teacher code of ethics can improve the pedagogical competence of Islamic education teachers, which has three indicators, namely moral, emotional, and spiritual maturity, self-development, and student-centered orientation. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the teacher code of ethics is carried out in several stages, namely the head of the madrasah conducts periodic and scheduled socialization of the teacher code of ethics at the beginning of each semester, followed by supervision and evaluation of the implementation of the teacher code of ethics. The obstacles to implementing the teacher code of ethics are that there are still teachers who do not fully understand all the details of the regulations containing the teacher code of ethics, and there are still teachers whose moral, emotional, and spiritual maturity needs to be improved. Efforts to implement the teacher code of ethics in improving the pedagogical competence of teachers include requiring Islamic education teachers to attend socialization sessions on various professional codes of ethics for teachers and seminars related to codes of ethics and the teaching profession.

Abstract

Peineiliitiian iinii beirtujuan untuk : Meinjeilaskan peinggunaan meidiia peimbeilajaran Peita Hajii dalam meiniingkatkan peimahaman siiswa tiingkat meineingah teirhadap mateirii Hajii. Fokus peineiliitiian iinii meincakup bagaiimana Peita Hajii dapat meimbantu siiswa meiniingkatkan keiteirliibatan meireika dalam proseis beilajar, dan akhiirnya, meimpeirmudah peimahaman meireika teirhadap konseip-konseip yang ada pada mateirii Hajii. Tujuan iinii akan meimbantu dalam meingeimbangkan peimbahasan yang leibiih meindalam meingeinaii peiran Peita Hajii seibagaii meidiia peimbeilajaran dalam meiniingkatkan peimahaman siiswa teirhadap mateirii Hajii. Peineiliitiian iinii sangatlah peintiing untuk diikajii kareina meidiia peimbeilajaran Peita Hajii dapat meinjadii solusii untuk masalah yang muncul teirutama pada mateirii hajii. Guru dapat meinggunakan meidiia iinii untuk meinyajiikan mateirii seihiingga siiswa dapat meimahamii konseip peimbeilajaran deingan mudah. Peingalaman beilajar dan peimahaman siiswa juga dapat diitiingkatkan deingan meidiia peimbeilajaran Peita Hajii. Dalam konteiks iinii, peinggunaan meidiia Peita Hajii juga seijalan deingan peindeikatan peimbeilajaran konteikstual (conteixtual teiachiing and leiarniing), yaiitu peindeikatan peimbeilajaran yang meingaiitkan mateirii peilajaran deingan siituasii duniia nyata siiswa. Meilaluii peimbeilajaran konteikstual, siiswa tiidak hanya meineiriima iinformasii seicara pasiif, teitapii juga diiajak untuk meinghubungkan mateirii yang diipeilajarii deingan peingalaman dan keihiidupan seiharii-harii meireika. Deingan Peita Hajii, siiswa dapat meimbayangkan seicara konkreit proseis iibadah Hajii, lokasii-lokasii peintiing, seirta urutan peilaksanaannya, seihiingga peimbeilajaran meinjadii leibiih beirmakna dan mudah diiiingat.

Abstract

This study explores elementary school teachers’ perceptions of using digital applications as an evaluation medium in mathematics learning. The research employed a qualitative approach through interviews and observations with teachers, students, and the principal to gain a deep understanding of the benefits, challenges, and implementation of digital applications in classroom evaluation. The findings revealed that teachers perceive digital applications as effective, interactive, and efficient tools that simplify the assessment process and enhance student motivation. Teachers highlighted that digital platforms enable quicker and more accurate evaluations, allowing real-time monitoring of students’ progress and providing instant feedback. Students reported that learning mathematics through digital applications is more engaging and enjoyable due to interactive features such as animations, quizzes, and feedback mechanisms. The principal emphasized that digital evaluation aligns with the school’s vision to integrate technology into learning, supported by training and adequate facilities. Despite minor challenges related to technical skills and digital literacy, the overall perception toward digital applications is positive. The use of digital applications not only improves evaluation efficiency but also promotes student independence, critical thinking, and digital competence. This research concludes that integrating digital technology in mathematics evaluation supports effective learning, modern education goals, and student readiness for the digital era. Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of character education and religious values into the Early Childhood Education (ECE) curriculum through a literature review approach. Character education integrated with religious values is considered a fundamental component in shaping children’s personality, morality, and spirituality from an early age. Values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and patience are not only conveyed through cognitive aspects but are also internalized through contextual activities such as storytelling, role-playing, communal worship, and everyday modeling. The findings indicate that the success of this integration is highly influenced by the role of educators, the synergy between schools and families, and a curriculum designed to be adaptive. Furthermore, challenges such as limited teacher competencies, the lack of appropriate learning media, and time constraints are obstacles that must be addressed through ongoing professional development and the support of all stakeholders. This study concludes that the integration of religious values into character education at the early childhood level is an effective strategy for fostering a generation that is not only intellectually capable but also morally and spiritually strong. Through a holistic and collaborative approach, these noble values can be consistently instilled from an early age, serving as a crucial foundation for children's future lives.
