Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

Daya tarik wisata rohani memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk keseimbangan antara kebutuhan spiritual dan rekreasi masyarakat modern. Penelitian ini fokus pada kajian daya tarik wisata rohani Salib Kasih di Tarutung, Tapanuli Utara, yang dikenal sebagai destinasi spiritual umat Kristen sekaligus simbol sejarah penyebaran agama di Tanah Batak. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, kajian ini menggambarkan makna spiritual, nilai budaya, serta peran sosial-ekonomi yang muncul dari keberadaan Salib Kasih sebagai pusat wisata spiritual. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Salib Kasih tidak hanya memiliki nilai religius melalui simbol salib dan sejarah misi Dr. Ludwig Ingwer Nommensen, tetapi juga menawarkan keindahan alam perbukitan yang menciptakan suasana reflektif dan damai. Fasilitas yang memadai, partisipasi masyarakat, serta inovasi pengembangan kawasan wisata turut memperkuat daya tariknya sebagai destinasi perikanan unggulan di Sumatera Utara. Selain berfungsi sebagai tempat ziarah dan pembinaan iman, kawasan ini juga memberikan dampak positif terhadap perekonomian lokal dan pelestarian nilai budaya. Oleh karena itu, Salib Kasih berperan sebagai sarana spiritual sekaligus potensi strategi dalam pengembangan pariwisata rohani berkelanjutan di Indonesia.

Teori belajar humanistik ialah teori yang berpandangan bahwa belajar harus memanusiakan manusia. Selama ini pendidikan Islam banyak mengadopsi teori belajar dari barat. Padahal jika ditarik ke belakang, Islam memiliki sebuah pendidikan yang sangat bagus yang mampu menghasilkan para ulama' serta ilmuan hebat pada masanya. Untuk itu diperlukanlah istiqra' atau penelitian terhadap kitab-kitab para ulama' mengenai teori pendidikan Islam. Artikel ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui titik relevansi antara teori humanistik (barat) dan guru etika dalam kitab Adab al-'Alim wa al-Muta'allim (Islam). Perlunya mengetahui relevansi antara teori barat dan Islam dikarenakan untuk menghasilkan mix-teori antara barat dan Islam sehingga diperoleh teori kombinasi yang maksimal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah studi literatur atau studi kepustakaan (ribrary Research). Data-data dalam penulisan artikel ini diambil dari data primer, yakni kitab Adab al-'Alim wa al-Muta'allim serta data skunder yang meliputi jurnal, buku, serta situs yang terpercaya. Temuan yang penulis peroleh dari penelitian ini ialah adanya titik relevansi antara teori humanistik dengan perspektif guru etika kitab Adab al-'Alim Wa al-Muta'allim. Titik relevansi tersebut berada pada macam-macam guru etika terhadap peserta didiknya pada jenis yang ke tiga dan sembilan dalam kitab Adab al-'Alim wa al-Muta'allim.

This study aims to describe the forms of verbal violence and the meanings of harsh words found in the YouTube video Ambo Nai "PT. Lolang Penni." The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis, focusing on the relationship between the signifier (signifiant) and the signified (signifié). Data collection was conducted through video transcription, followed by analysis to identify elements of verbal violence based on cultural and social contexts. The research findings show that the video contains various forms of verbal violence, both direct and indirect, such as insults, mockery, threats, and degradation of gender and personal identity. The semiotic analysis reveals that each utterance of verbal violence carries deep meaning that not only represents individual expression but also reflects the social structure, culture, and power relations in the speaker's community.

A transformation of learning strategies in Islamic education from traditional methods centered on memorization and lectures to modern approaches that are interactive and technology-based is demanded by contemporary developments. This research is aimed at analyzing the comparative effectiveness of traditional and modern learning strategies in Islamic education and evaluating their compatibility with the principles of ijtihad as a foundation for innovation in contemporary Islamic educational contexts. A qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical literature review approach is employed in this study to examine classical and contemporary literature related to Islamic learning strategies and the concept of ijtihad. It is indicated by the findings that modern learning strategies demonstrate advantages in enhancing student engagement and developing critical thinking skills, while traditional strategies remain relevant in providing a strong knowledge foundation, and both approaches are aligned with the principles of ijtihad that promoted flexibility and adaptation in Islamic education. The integration of traditional and modern learning strategies in Islamic education is represented as a manifestation of contemporary ijtihad concepts that enable innovation in educational methods without abandoning the fundamental values of Islamic teachings.

Education plays an essential role in preparing students to become high-quality human resources in the future. Mastery of more than one language, particularly Indonesian and Malay, is an important factor in supporting cross-cultural communication skills within the learning environment. This study aims to analyze the influence of bilingual teaching materials on students’ communication skills at Sanggar Bimbingan Kampung Bharu, Malaysia. The research employed a descriptive quantitative method, with data collected through observation, tests, and documentation involving 10 third-grade students. Data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test to determine the significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. The results revealed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) with an average increase from 37.63% to 63.81%, indicating a positive effect of bilingual teaching materials on students’ communication abilities. These findings suggest that the use of two languages in teaching materials not only enhances students’ comprehension and confidence in communication but also helps create an inclusive and adaptive learning environment that supports the development of cross-cultural communication skills.

Artikel ini membahas pentingnya profesionalisme guru dalam meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran pada era abad ke-21. Profesionalisme guru dipandang sebagai fondasi utama yang menentukan keberhasilan pendidikan nasional, mencakup kompetensi pedagogik, kepribadian, dan komitmen terhadap profesi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi literatur (library research) melalui analisis isi berbagai sumber ilmiah, baik buku, jurnal, maupun kebijakan pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa guru profesional berperan sebagai fasilitator, inovator, dan teladan moral yang mampu mengintegrasikan teknologi pembelajaran serta membentuk karakter peserta didik. Penguatan profesionalisme guru menuntut adanya pembinaan berkelanjutan, budaya reflektif, dan dukungan kelembagaan yang adaptif terhadap perubahan zaman. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca siswa di kelas II SD Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip sehingga masih banyak siswa yang belum lancar dalam membaca. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media puzzle digital terhadap keterampilan membaca siswa kelas II SD Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dalam bentuk Pre-Experimental dengan jenis One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Adapun sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 22 siswa kelas II SD Negeri 1 Simpang Teritip. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes lisan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas dan uji hipotesis Paired Sampel t-tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, dari perhitungan uji normalita berbantuan Statistical Package and Social Sciences (SPSS 26) diperoleh bahwa nilai pretest 0,250 > 0,05 dan nilai posttest 0,061 > 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis berbantuan Statistical Package and Social Sciences (SPSS 26) diperoleh angka signifikansi pretest dan posttest yaitu 0,000 < 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Hₐ diterima. Berdasarkan hasil hitung manual diperoleh nilai uji normalitas pretest sebesar 0,899 dan posttest sebesar 0,923. Sedangkan, uji hipotesis diperoleh hasil perhitungan manual sebesar 6,9317 dan sebesar 2,079 menunjukkan Hₒ ditolak dan Hₐ diterima. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media puzzle digital terhadap keterampilan membaca siswa kelas II SD Negeri 1 Simpang Tertip.

This study is motivated by the suboptimal use of academic supervision data as the basis for evaluating learning processes. The study aim to describe the role of the principal’s leadership in strengthening learning quality through data-based academic supervision at MI Muhammadiyah Tahfidzul Qur’an, Matesih, Karanganyar. The study focuses on three main aspects: the form of the principal’s leadership in implementing academic supervision, the implementation of data-based academic supervision, and its contribution to strengthening learning quality. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative design with teachers and the school principal as the research subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the principal applied transformational and participatory leadership styles that fostered a collaborative and reflective culture among teachers. Data-based academic supervision was systematically implemented by utilizing classroom observation results, learning evaluations, and teacher reflections as the basis for professional development. The application of data-based supervision improved the objectivity of assessments, teacher professionalism, learning effectiveness, and student achievement. The study concludes that the integration of principal leadership with data-based academic supervision serves as an effective strategy to build a sustainable culture of learning quality in elementary education. The implications indicate that improving the quality of learning in elementary schools can be achieved more effectively when principals develop a structured, data-driven, and reflective academic supervision system. The findings of this study can serve as a reference for principals and school supervisors in designing continuous professional development policies for teachers, as well as a basis for future researchers to explore data-based academic supervision models in broader educational contexts.

As time progresses, many literary works have been adapted into films, including animated films that often present moral values. One animated film that portrays moral values is Grave of the Fireflies by Isao Takahata. This study aims to analyze the forms of moral responsibility expressed by the main characters in Grave of the Fireflies. The research employs a qualitative method, using dynamic structuralism theory that examines the interrelationships among the elements of the story as a whole through two types of analysis: intrinsic analysis (characterization of the main characters, plot and conflict) and extrinsic analysis (Japanese cultural values). Furthermore, the analysis is supported by moral responsibility theory to identify and describe the forms of moral responsibility portrayed by the main characters. The results revealed that the main characters moral responsibility in this film is divided into two main forms. The first is Protective and Practical Responsibility, reflected in Seita’s decision to care for and protect his younger sister, Setsuko. The second is Existential Moral Responsibility, evident in his decision to leave his aunt’s house and the moral consequences that arise from his actions. These two forms of responsibility highlight the strong influence of Japanese cultural values (bushidō and giri) that emphasize honor, loyalty, sacrifice, and moral obligation toward the family. These findings highlight that Grave of the Fireflies not only portrays the destructive impact of war but also presents a profound reflection on humanity and moral responsibility within the context of Japanese culture. This study aims to analyze the effect of using Augmented Reality (AR) technology on student learning outcomes in science subjects, specifically on the Solar System material in sixth grade at SD Negeri 216/IV Kota Jambi. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 30 students divided into an experimental group (15 students) who received learning using AR technology and a control group (15 students) who used conventional learning. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant effect of using AR technology on student learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The average post-test score of the experimental group was 76.67, higher than the control group at 37.33, with t count value of 14.473 > t table 2.048. This study proves that AR technology is effective in improving student learning outcomes in understanding abstract concepts such as Solar System material because it presents interactive and contextual three-dimensional visualizations.
