Abstract

This study aims to explore how active learning strategies in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) can foster the internalization of religious moderation values at SDN 2 Serangan, Denpasar. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the implementation of active learning strategies such as group discussions, case studies, and storytelling significantly contributed to instilling values of tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among students. The IRE teacher served as both a facilitator and a moderation agent, contextually linking Islamic teachings to the students' socio-religious realities. The participatory learning model, supported by inclusive school policies, created an educational environment conducive to promoting religious moderation. This study concludes that transforming IRE through active learning strategies is an effective approach to developing moderate character in students from an early age.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education and Character Development plays a vital role in shaping students’ moral foundations. Traditional teaching methods often fall short in fostering engagement and deep internalization of values. This study aims to analyze the development and implementation of H5P-based interactive media in Islamic Education at SDN 1 Sukorejo. This qualitative research employed a case study approach. Data were collected through classroom observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of learning artifacts. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods with triangulation of sources and techniques. The findings indicate that H5P interactive media including interactive videos, drag-and-drop tasks, and branching scenarios enhanced student engagement, supported moral reflection, and facilitated internalization of core Islamic values such as honesty and empathy. Teachers responded positively, although technical limitations and time constraints were noted during media development. Offline implementation proved effective in low-infrastructure settings. These results align with recent studies demonstrating the effectiveness of digital media in supporting Islamic character education. H5P emerges as an adaptable and engaging tool suitable for primary education, provided that teacher training, linguistic adaptation, and institutional support are in place. It represents a viable solution for modernizing Islamic moral education in the digital era.

Abstract

Language is the main component that determines progress in science, the ability of the younger generation to use language greatly affects the level of education of a country. Reading is a language skill that should be learnt at an early age. This skill is divided into beginner and advanced levels. In grades one and two. Reading skills are taught so that students recognise letters, syllables, words and sentences. Failure to start reading can impact on comprehension of other material. Studies show that the Structural Analytic Synthetic (SAS) method works effectively in improving the reading skills of beginning students. It has a systematic and planned procedure to analyse and combine letter symbols into words and sentences. Many researchers have shown that this method improves students. Therefore, this technique can be a solution to overcome students who have poor initial reading skills at the primary level. To find and analyse relevant literature regarding the application of the SAS method in beginning reading, the researcher used the study literature review (SLR) method for this research.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of third-grade Indonesian Language students at Pucuksari Elementary School, Kendal Regency, were low, as evidenced by daily test data. Most students scored below the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKM ≥ 75), with only a few exceeding this threshold. Teaching methods were primarily teacher-centered and lacked diversity in instructional media, leading to low student engagement. To address these challenges, action research was conducted in the classroom using a jigsaw cooperative learning model supplemented with visual media. The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of this model in enhancing teacher skills, student activities, and learning outcomes in Indonesian Language lessons. The research design comprised two cycles, each involving planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The participants were 23 third-grade students—12 boys and 11 girls—from Pucuksari Elementary School. Data collection techniques included both non-test methods (observation, interviews, field notes, documentation) and test methods (written assessments). Findings revealed significant improvement in student engagement and learning outcomes, particularly in topics related to transportation technology. Achievement rates increased from 67% in Cycle I to 88% in Cycle II. Similarly, learning mastery rose from 55% with 9 students meeting criteria in Cycle I to 95% with 22 students achieving success in Cycle II. Conclusively, the implementation of the jigsaw cooperative learning model with pictorial media substantially enhanced student activities and learning outcomes. Teachers are encouraged to adopt this model to create more dynamic and engaging learning environments, yielding better academic results for students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the direct role of spousal support in reducing parental stress among dual-earner families in Indonesia using the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model (APIM). Rapid socioeconomic changes have increased parental responsibilities, especially in dual-earner families, heightening parental stress. Using a quantitative cross-sectional design, data were collected from 246 dual-earner couples. Parental Stress Scale and Spousal Support Scale were employed to measure parental stress and spousal support, respectively. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis revealed significant actor effects: husband's support significantly decreased wife's parental stress (β = -0.356, p < 0.001), and wife's support significantly reduced husband's parental stress (β = -0.341, p < 0.001). These findings emphasize the critical role of spousal support in alleviating parental stress, highlighting its importance in enhancing family well-being. The study offers practical recommendations for interventions and policies aimed at strengthening spousal support to improve parenting experiences within dual-earner families.
