Journal of Educational Research and Evaluation (JERE) is an interdisciplinary publication of original research and writing on education which publishes papers to international audiences of educational researchers. Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that many students still need to be more disciplined in obeying the rules. This research aims to analyze the influence of parenting patterns on student learning outcomes, the influence of disciplinary behavior on student learning outcomes, and the influence of parental parenting and corrective behavior on student learning outcomes. This research is quantitative research with a correlational type. The population in this study was all students, totaling 74 students. The sample in this study used the entire population. The data collection methods used are questionnaires and documentation. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis techniques use validity, reliability, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and coefficient of determination. The results of data analysis show that, first, parental parenting influences student learning outcomes. Second, there is no influence of disciplinary behavior on student learning outcomes partially. Third, there is a simultaneous influence of parental parenting and corrective behavior on learning outcomes. It is concluded that good parenting and corrective behavior can improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students.

Abstract

At the junior high school level, there are still very few standardized tests of logical thinking abilities that can be used to measure students' logical thinking abilities. This research aims to analyze the validity of items and the effect of spurious overlap (ESO) unidimensionally and multidimensionally (a study of the effect of spurious overlap on tests of logical thinking abilities. This research is a type of instrument calibration research. The population of this research is all students of class VIII at junior high school, with the sample in the form of answers from 100 students’ selected using purposive sampling. Data collection method using tests. The results of data analysis obtained findings from testing the validity of unidimensional logical thinking ability test items before being corrected for the spurious overlap effect; 49 items were suitable for use as part of the test, and testing the validity of the multidimensional logical thinking ability test items before being corrected for the spurious overlap effect, 49 items are suitable for use as test constructors, in the unidimensional test of item validity after being corrected for the spurious overlap effect, 47 items are suitable for use as test constructors; and testing the validity of the multidimensional logical thinking ability test items before being corrected for the spurious overlap effect, 45 items are suitable to be used as test components, and the unidimensional ESO coefficient is smaller when compared to the multidimensional ESO coefficient of the items that make up the logical thinking ability test.

Abstract

Distance learning activities also present problems, such as students and teachers needing adequate device access and a stable internet connection. Based on this, this research aims to analyze the effectiveness of learning management in elementary schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. This type of research is qualitative research. The data collected is primary and secondary. The subjects of this research were all sixth-grade elementary school teachers from 25 state schools and two private schools. The methods used to collect data are interviews, observation, and documentation. The research instruments were interview guidelines, observation guidelines, documentation guidelines, cameras, and notebooks. The technique used to analyze data is qualitative descriptive analysis. The research results show first that during the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers used online, offline, and a combination of online and offline approaches. Second, learning management is in a suitable category. Third, learning obstacles include device availability, network disruption, internet package availability, student discipline, and inadequate teacher information and technology competence. Teachers overcome obstacles by paying attention to the causes of these obstacles. It was concluded that the effectiveness of learning carried out by teachers was adequate so that learning objectives could be achieved optimally.

Abstract

The components of arm muscle endurance, leg strength, and hip flexibility are bio motor components that are indispensable in the basic kayang technique in gymnastics. These factors affect gymnastics skills in amateur gymnastics athletes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the contribution of arm endurance, leg strength, and back flexibility to kayang skills in amateur athletes at the Lampung Gymnastics Idol Club. This research method uses descriptive quantitative. The population and sample in this study were 20 athletes with a total sampling technique. Arm endurance tests using push-ups, leg strength tests using a Leg dynamometer and back flexibility tests using sit and reach, and kayang skill ability tests using kayang skill observation sheets. The data analysis technique used a multiple correlation formula and then tested with product-moment correlation analysis techniques and tested significantly. The results showed that (1) there is a significant contribution between arm endurance to kayang skills in athletes (2) there is a significant contribution between leg strength to kayang skills in athletes (3) there is a significant contribution between back flexibility to kayang skills in athletes. So it can be concluded that there is a significant contribution together between arm endurance, leg strength, and back flexibility to kayang skills in amateur athletes of Club Idola Gymnastik Lampung. So this is the importance of the coach's role in knowing the contribution of some of these components to support more optimal skill movements, especially in amateur class gymnastics athletes.

Abstract

Learning and teaching practices in various tertiary institutions (PT) remain in didactic pedagogy, perpetuating teacher-centered learning methods, thus failing to take advantage of technological developments. This research aims to develop a pedagogical approach to learning design to develop learners' self-determined learning skills through a blended learning scheme. This type of research is development research. The model used in developing the Heutagogi approach learning design is the 4D development model. The subjects of this research are learning design experts, learning media experts, and learning device experts. The subjects of this trial were all 60 students. The methods used to collect data are questionnaires and test questions. The instruments used in collecting were questionnaire sheets and test questions. Techniques for analyzing data are qualitative, quantitative, and inferential statistical descriptive analysis. The research results are as follows: First, the learning design and learning support tools for developing self-determined learning skills are valid and reliable. Secondly, there are differences in the effectiveness of learning designs for self-determined learning strategies (Heutagogi). Third, there is a correlation between the value of self-determined learning skills and course learning outcomes (CPMK). It was concluded that the Heutagogi approach learning design is suitable for use in learning and improves student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The lack of learning media impacts student learning outcomes and low learning motivation. Based on this, this study aimed to develop and test the feasibility and effectiveness of lift-the-flap book media to improve learning outcomes of Pancasila Education. This type of research uses the Borg & Gall development model by simplifying 8 of the ten stages: potential and problems, data collection, media design, design validation, design revision, initial trial, product revision, and trial use. The research subjects were one learning media expert and one learning material expert. The test subjects were teachers and 27 fourth-grade students. The methods used to collect data are observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires and tests. The instruments used to collect data are questionnaires and test questions. The techniques used to analyze the data were qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative and inferential statistics. The study results are media and material validity, with very feasible categories of teacher and student responses in the exciting category. The t-test results show a difference in the average results between the pretest and post-test. It is concluded that the lift-flap-book media effectively improves Pancasila Education learning outcomes.

Abstract

The implementation of learning is still not optimal in utilizing and using learning media so students' motivation and learning outcomes in learning still need to be higher. This research aims to develop POPOIN Media in an effort to improve learning outcomes in Floor Pattern Material for class V students. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model. The subjects of this research are material experts and learning media experts. The test subjects were 27 fifth-grade students and fifth-grade elementary school teachers. The methods used to collect data are observation, interviews, questionnaires and test questions. The instruments used to collect data were questionnaire sheets and test questions. The techniques used to analyze data are qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistics. The results of the research, namely POPOIN media on Floor Pattern material, received very good qualifications from experts so that it is suitable for use in learning. The results of the n-gain test data analysis show an increase in scores between the pretest and posttest. The results of the t-test show that there is a difference in the pretest and post-test scores. It was concluded that POPOIN media in Floor Pattern material could be used to improve students' dance learning outcomes.

Abstract

Indonesia, which has significant human resources, needs better human resources. The efforts made by the government through the Independent Curriculum program, in fact, still need to be in line with expectations. Many students' potential has yet to be maximized, so innovation is needed to improve the quality of students through competitions and maximizing potential. This research aims to maximize students' potential and improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia. This type of research is qualitative, using quantitative research methods and t-test analysis. The research subjects were 60 students. The methods used to collect data are interviews, observations, and tests. The instrument used to collect data is test questions. Inference analysis was carried out using a Paired Sample T-Test. The Paired Sample T-Test results show a significant difference between the average achievement of students in the experimental group that uses the EXCELLA system and the control group that follows regular learning. The findings of this research have proven to have a positive impact on increasing student achievement and potential. This research implies that EXCELLA has excellent potential to become a practical learning innovation in improving the quality of Indonesian human resources. With continued support from the government and other stakeholders, EXCELLA can significantly create a superior and competitive future generation.

Abstract

Teachers need help in educational reform in planning, learning processes, and evaluation due to errors in identifying technical problems, especially in Indonesian language learning. This certainly has an impact on students' poor critical thinking skills. This research aims to analyze critical thinking in Indonesian language learning. This research was conducted using a mixed method approach. This type of research uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The method used to collect data is documentation. The data sources used are the Garuda Portal database and Google Scholar, done with the help of Publish or Parish. 8. The data collection technique uses a Prism Diagram. The techniques used to analyze data are qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. The results of this research are the publication of articles on critical thinking in learning Indonesian from several of the most productive years in 2022 and 2023, with 17 articles and 34 articles published from the Garuda portal and Google Scholar databases. Integrating critical and creative thinking skills in Indonesian language learning in SD/MI can help improve students' ability to understand, produce, and use language better. In an implementation, starting with learning planning, learning processes, and learning evaluation, there is an implementation in applying critical thinking in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

The learning activities carried out by teachers use the rote method, so many students need to be more interested and help learn them. Apart from that, the lack of learning media also has a low impact on science learning outcomes for elementary school students. Based on this, this research aims to analyze the influence of KOMIKA (Children's Comics) media on the learning outcomes of Class IV science material and the richness of Indonesian culture in elementary schools. This type of research is quantitative research. The method used in this research is an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study was 32 fourth-grade elementary school students. The method used to collect data is a test. The instrument used to collect data is a test question sheet. The technique used to analyze research results is inferential statistics. The research results, namely the t-test results, show an average difference between the experimental class post-test scores and the control class test scores. The results of the N-gain test show that the N-gain score for the experimental class falls into the high criteria, and for the experimental class falls into the medium criteria. It was concluded that learning using KOMIKA (Children's Comics) media was more effective than using only student books.
