Abstract

Corruption is a major impediment to the nation's social, economic, and political development, making early anti-corruption education crucial. This article discusses the role of the traditional game congklak as a learning medium for instilling anti-corruption values in Indonesia's younger generation. This study employs the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) to develop a congklak game that teaches values such as honesty, integrity, responsibility, and sportsmanship. The findings indicate that using congklak significantly enhances students' understanding of anti-corruption values. The game provides an interactive experience that helps students internalize essential values and comprehend their relevance to daily life. Despite its effectiveness, challenges remain, such as younger students' difficulty in grasping modified rules and longer-than-expected game duration. However, with appropriate adjustments, congklak can be integrated into character education curricula, preserving local culture while supporting the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045 as a nation of high integrity. This study presents an innovative approach to anti-corruption education through culturally relevant, local traditions.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the strategies implemented by SMK YPF Bandung to enhance students' religious character. The school conducts regular activities, including Dhuha prayers and Surah Al-Kahfi recitations, but faces several challenges in their execution. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the researchers conducted interviews, observations, and document analysis, with school staff and students as primary data sources. Findings reveal that these routine activities not only serve as acts of worship but also function as character-building tools, fostering traits like discipline, responsibility, and leadership among students. However, the school encounters challenges, such as maintaining student discipline and consistency, limited facilities and infrastructure, varying levels of students’ Qur'anic reading proficiency, and environmental influences, all of which hinder character development efforts. The study concludes that consistent engagement in Dhuha prayers and Surah Al-Kahfi recitations positively impacts students’ development into individuals with integrity, well-prepared to enter the workforce with strong ethical and moral values. This research is limited by its focus on a single school, meaning that the findings may not fully represent conditions in other schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in Pancasila learning outcomes between students who use the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) method and the conventional method. The research method uses an experimental approach with a control group design. The subjects of the study consisted of 60 PAI students who were divided into two groups: the SCL group and the conventional group, each consisting of 30 students. The results showed that the SCL group had a higher average score, which was 85.4 with an understanding level of 92%, compared to the conventional group which had an average score of 75.2 and an understanding level of 78%. These findings indicate that SCL is effective in improving Pancasila learning outcomes. However, this study has limitations in scope which only covers one study program at one university. Therefore, further research is needed to test the effectiveness of SCL in a broader context. In addition, educators are advised to integrate SCL in Pancasila learning in order to improve student learning outcomes as a whole.

Abstract

Indonesia is in second place as the largest producer of plastic waste in the world. This condition, in conjunction with the various natural disasters that have occurred, emphasizes the need for character education for Indonesian society. The reduce, reuse, recycle (3R) program is one method to foster an environmentally caring attitude and a sense of responsibility in students, in order to create a clean and comfortable environment. This research aims to shape the character of students according to the Pancasila student profile, such as concern for the environment and a sense of responsibility, through school innovation as an effective learning tool. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Research findings show that the implementation of the 3R program at SDN 17 Lubuklinggau has succeeded in forming a character that cares about the environment and a sense of responsibility. This effort is carried out by familiarizing students with separating waste based on its type, namely organic and inorganic waste. Apart from that, character formation is also carried out through daily habits, educational examples, cultivating discipline, integration in lessons, routine school activities, and structuring the learning environment.

Abstract

A textbook is an essential learning resource that must be continuously developed to support effective teaching methods. One of the courses at Universitas Sriwijaya requiring such development is the Student Development Course (PPD). Based on preliminary studies, students across all PPKn study programs at Universitas Sriwijaya face difficulties in accessing textbooks that align with their learning needs, which negatively impacts their academic performance. If left unaddressed, this issue could hinder the achievement of course competencies. This research applied the ADDIE development model, consisting of five stages: 1) analysis, 2) product design, 3) product development, 4) product implementation, and 5) evaluation. The research subjects were students enrolled in the PPD course in the Indralaya class. The findings revealed that the project-based learning (PBL) textbook tested on students was more effective, as it was easier to understand and better suited to their learning requirements. However, the study's limitation lies in its focus on Universitas Sriwijaya students, making the findings less generalizable to other institutions with different student characteristics. Further research is recommended to evaluate the application of this textbook in a broader range of institutions and learning contexts.

Abstract

Globalization often brings social changes that lead to a decline in community participation in preserving local wisdom. This study aims to analyze the revitalization process of the Tolak Bala tradition and its contribution to strengthening civic culture, particularly in cultural preservation and identity reinforcement. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method to illustrate social phenomena in their actual context and to uncover the characteristics and meanings of these realities. Data collection was conducted through observations, interviews, and documentation, with informants including traditional leaders, community figures, and residents from two villages in Buol Regency. Data analysis techniques involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that strengthening civic culture through the Tolak Bala tradition is associated with several key values: cultural values that reinforce local identity, social values that enhance solidarity among residents, religious values that serve as a means of seeking divine protection, and intellectual values that encourage critical reflection on human relationships with nature and spiritual entities. The revitalization of this tradition has been carried out through several initiatives, including (1) cultural education and outreach, (2) the development of cultural festivals, (3) support from the government and relevant institutions, (4) involvement of younger generations, and (5) the use of social media to expand the reach of information and cultural promotion. This study is limited to the context of Buol Regency, so its findings may not be generalizable to other regions with different social characteristics and traditions. Further research is needed to explore the effectiveness of this revitalization process in a broader context.

Abstract

Virtual reality (VR) technology is increasingly being adopted in education, offering innovative and engaging methods for teaching. This study examines the application of VR-based learning media in Ecological Citizenship education, with a focus on enhancing students' environmental awareness. Through VR, students can engage in interactive simulations that realistically depict various aspects of the environment—from biological dynamics to the impacts of environmental changes. The findings demonstrate that VR not only improves students' technical understanding but also strengthens their attitudes towards environmental conservation through active participation. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, document analysis, and classroom observations to gather data. However, challenges at Lambung Mangkurat University, such as inadequate technological infrastructure, limited lecturer proficiency in effectively utilizing VR, and the need for curriculum-aligned content, hinder the full implementation of VR-based learning. Based on these results, the study recommends integrating VR into the curriculum as an effective pedagogical tool to foster environmental awareness and prepare future generations to be more responsive to environmental issues.

Abstract

Schools function as civic laboratories by utilizing digital technology to instill national values in students, enabling them to promote local culture and traditions through digital media and contribute to a modern national algorithm. This study identifies strategies for integrating digital technology into Pancasila education and examines the role of schools in shaping this national algorithm via social media. Using a systematic literature review, the research focuses on technology-driven citizenship education in the digital era. Findings indicate that schools integrating digital technology into civic education significantly enhance students' understanding of national values. Generation Z actively participates in digital-based civic activities, spreading regional culture, language, and traditions through social media. Teachers, as facilitators of digital citizenship, play a crucial role in shaping students' national identities, particularly in schools with strong technological access. Students receiving digital-based civic education are more proactive in sharing nationalistic content, fostering a national algorithm that boosts national and state awareness among social media users. This research offers practical implications for educators, serving as a guide for integrating digital technology into civic education to develop a national algorithm. It also provides a fresh perspective for Indonesian education policy, advocating the inclusion of digital citizenship in the civic education curriculum to address the challenges and opportunities of the digital era.
