Abstract

For English teachers, there are several variations in delivering the idea of teaching English. These variations aim to prevent boredom in learning for students and to optimize teaching and learning activities. The purpose of this research is to reveal qualitative reasons for five selected-English lecturers when teaching English by using mnemonic strategies at Bina Sarana Informatika University, Jakarta. The method in this research is using the Interpretative Phenomenology Study; in which the author interviews in detail to reveal the exploration of an effort by the lecturer used when teaching English in certain English topic. After using the mnemonic strategy, the results stated that, there were five results, they are: 1. Facilitating Memory in Learning. 2. Increasing Memory. 3. Illustrating a Memory. 4. Facilitating Teaching and Learning Activities. and 5. Creating the Own in the Application of Mnemonic Strategies by Acronyms. As the additional result, students’ attraction and interest will increase. Then, this will also lead to an increase in learning outcomes, absolutely to their grades or score.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of the popular animated series, Bluey, on the language development of young children. A quantitative survey design was employed to analyze the correlation between the intensity of Bluey viewing and children's language skills. The sample consisted of 30 children aged 3-6 years from Taman Baca Amalia. Results showed a significant positive correlation between the intensity of Bluey viewing and children's language abilities, including vocabulary, syntax, and narrative skills. The study also found that children who watched Bluey more frequently exhibited higher levels of imitation of Bluey's language patterns. These findings suggest that high-quality animated programs like Bluey can have a significant educational value, particularly in terms of language development. This study contributes to the understanding of the role of media in early childhood education and highlights the potential of integrating entertainment elements into language learning strategies.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the educational games assisted by wordwall applications is effective on student interest and learning outcomes of IPAS class V SDN Tugu Jebres No.120 in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research approach used is quantitative with the quasi experimental research and non-equivalent control group design. The samples of the research amounted to 41 fifth grade students who were selected through sampling with saturated sampling technique. The data analysis technique was used the Independent Sample Test followed by the N-gain test. The results of the research indicated the effectiveness treatment of educational game assisted by wordwall application, which was obtained in the hypothesis test with a sig. value 0.000 < 0.05 on student learning interest and sig. value 0.002 < 0.05 on learning outcomes. On the basis of the N-gain test, the experimental class learning interest percentage was 57.44% with a quite effective criteria. Meanwhile, the N-gain test on learning outcomes of the experimental class obtained a percentage of 56.96% with a quite effective criteria. So it could be concluded that the treatment of educational games assisted by wordwall application is quite effective on student interest and learning outcomes of IPAS class V SDN Tugu Jebres No.120 in the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of PBL assisted by concrete media on learning outcomes in place value of tens and units in grade 2 elementary school. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of pre-experimental design with one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample in this study was all 28 grade 2 students at SD Negeri Tawangmas 01. Using test data collection techniques (normality test, n-gain test, and paired sample t-test) and non-test (interviews and documentation). The results of this study obtained average pretest data of 58.93. while the average result of the posttest was 90.00. The results of the pretest and posttest Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed sig > 0.05 with pretest data 0.260 > 0.05 and posttest data 0.209 > 0.05 at a significance level of 0.05 and N = 28, so H0 was accepted. The n-gain test obtained was 0.7010. Stating the criteria for the N-Gain test value of 0.7 < g < 1 is categorized as high criteria. The Paired Sample T-Test obtained a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.005 so that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The conclusion is that PBL assisted by concrete media has an effect on the learning outcomes of place value of tens and units in grade 2 of elementary school. This can be seen from student learning outcomes before and after being given treatment.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the use of Education Report Card data in the data-based planning process at SDN 03 Setalik. Using qualitative methods, this research explores the experiences and perspectives of school principals, teachers, and other stakeholders on how Education Report Card data is integrated into decision-making and educational planning processes. The research results show that Education Report Card data provides valuable information about student achievement, learning quality, and school climate. However, there are challenges in integrating this data into planning, such as a lack of adequate human resource capacity and policy support. This research highlights the importance of increasing the competence of teachers and school principals, as well as the need for appropriate policy and program support to facilitate the effective use of Education Report Card data in educational planning.

Abstract

The success of a school in implementing Asset-Based Thinking in instructional leadership for driving schools can influence, motivate, and engage teachers in achieving educational goals. This research focuses on how Asset-Based Thinking is implemented and evaluated in instructional leadership at SD Negeri 6 Tanah Jambo Aye and SD Negeri 7 Syamtalira Aron in North Aceh Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach involving interviews with principals of driving elementary schools in North Aceh Regency. The findings indicate that the implementation of Asset-Based Thinking in instructional leadership requires readiness or creativity from teachers and curriculum representatives in planning and executing Asset-Based Thinking. It is also necessary for them to continually develop themselves through collaboration and participation in training or In-House Training (IHT). The implementation of Asset-Based Thinking in instructional leadership still faces internal challenges, including lack of awareness, unsupported school culture, and limited resources. External challenges include curriculum and evaluation demands, pressure from parents and the community, and changes in educational policies.

Abstract

Intelligence is a person's ability to recognize, understand, manage and express emotions well. Dhuha prayer, as a sunnah prayer performed in the morning, has been proven to have a positive impact on students' emotional intelligence. Through Duha prayer, students are taught to increase self-awareness, control negative emotions, and increase empathy towards others. The research methodology is quantitative research. In this research, the population is all class VIII students of SMP IT Al-Kaffah Binjai for the 2023/2024 academic year, in this case there are two classes, namely VIII-A and VIII-B. The total number of class VIII students is 32 people. Sampling for this research used the total sampling technique. In accordance with the number of students in class VIII, namely 32 people, the sample in this study will be 32 students. The results of the discussion are that there is an influence between Duha prayer on students' emotional intelligence with a coefficient value (R Square) = 0.752 indicating that the influence of Duha prayer on students' emotional intelligence is 0.752 or 75.2%, in the range of 0.60-0.799. and is in the strong category.‎

Abstract

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of many teenagers who have difficulty controlling their phubbing behavior around them. This phenomenon can be seen in social interactions, where someone ignores the person they are talking to by continuously focusing on their smartphone. This behavior also reflects a lack of mutual respect between individuals. Phubbing behavior describes individuals who are too focused on their smartphones. Many teenagers ignore interpersonal communication because they are busy with their smartphones, so this phenomenon is increasingly common among teenagers. This study aims to analyze differences in phubbing behavior based on the gender of students at SMPN 102 Jakarta. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, with data collection techniques using the Phubbing instrument developed by Karadag (2015) which has been modified and adapted. The scale used is the Likert scale. The research sample consisted of 36 students, consisting of 19 male students and 17 female students. The results of the statistical analysis showed no significant difference based on gender, but were included in the moderate category.

Abstract

Character education of akhlakul karimah at Pesantren At-Taubah Dr KH Ishak Muzawwir Karawang Indonesia is carried out through habituation such as reading the Qur'an, memorizing verses of the Qur'an, behaving politely and having manners according to Islamic teachings. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of akhlakul karimah character education at At-Taubah Islamic Boarding School. The research method used is a qualitative approach, types and sources of data using primary data and secondary data, data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques use data triangulation where data is selected that is important and appropriate and then processed to draw conclusions. The result of the research is that students at the At-Taubah DR KH Ishak Muzawwir pesantren have implemented akhlakul karimah character education through habituation and role models from teachers. There are three education programs, the first is daily, monthly and annual programs. The inhibiting factor is that not all students come from the pesantren. Supporting factors are pesantren leaders and teachers who give examples of akhlakul karimah, extensive infrastructure facilities around 3 hectares. A beautiful conducive place away from the hustle and bustle of the crowd. Gentle pesantren leaders and teachers, habituation of akhlakul karimah through habituation.

Abstract

The study aims to assess the role of the Kuta Beach environment on the English language learning of young bracelet sellers there and how they use English in their daily activities. This study encourages qualitative approach, data collection techniques using, observation, interview and documentation. The researcher found and concluded that the environment at Kuta Beach plays a significant role in the development of English language skills among these children even to develop next level that is grammar mastery. Even they are not necessarily having access to informal education such as course. They are able to communicate effectively due to their regular interactions with tourists from diverse country. The lively and socially engaging environment of Kuta Beach provides them with opportunities to practice and improve their language skills.
