Abstract

This research focuses on understanding how conflicts that occur in Islamic boarding schools are managed and the strategies used to resolve these conflicts. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The collected data was analyzed using data analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman, which included data reduction, data presentation, and a conclusion. The study results show that conflicts in Pesantren appear in various forms, such as political, economic, task, and organizational conflicts. The conflict management strategies implemented include Tabayyun (clarification), deliberation, and the application of the Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar value (inviting goodness and preventing evil). This study found that effective conflict management can increase cooperation, motivation, and discipline among Pesantren members. Conversely, poorly managed conflicts can degrade the performance of institutions and create internal tensions. The implication of this study is the importance of implementing conflict management strategies based on religious values to create a harmonious environment and support the development of Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the transformational leadership of the madrasah principal in the development of Madrasah Adiwiyata. This study uses a qualitative approach of the case study type through a multi-site approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use an interactive model consisting of four stages: data collection, data presentation, data condensation, and concluding. The study results indicate that The 4 "I's" of Transformational Leadership are refined into Pancatransformational by adding elements of Idealized Religious Influence. Pancatransformational in madrasah leadership includes Religious Influence, Idealized Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation, and Individualized Consideration with leadership principles based on wasathiyah/moderate religious values that can realize the development of a more holistic Adiwiyata school program. The implications of this study indicate that the concept of Pancatransformational, with elements of Idealized Religious Influence, strengthens the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in madrasahs. Based on wasathiyah/moderate values, this leadership integrates religious values in environmental conservation efforts. It motivates the entire school community to participate actively, creating an inclusive and sustainable school culture.

Abstract

This study explores the application of situational leadership by principals in improving the quality of education in public senior high schools. This study is based on the importance of situational leadership in facing educational challenges, especially in improving the quality of teaching and supporting teacher professional development in the Merdeka Belajar era. The qualitative research method with a multi-site study type examines two different educational locations to compare situational leadership's implementation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis approach, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The study's findings indicate that principals apply situational leadership that is flexible and responsive to the needs and readiness of teachers. Principals use more directive and supportive leadership styles and give more freedom to experienced teachers. Applying this leadership style has been shown to increase motivation and quality of teaching and encourage continuous teacher professional development. Situational leadership based on the perspective of Hersey and Blanchard's theory can improve the quality of education. This study is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the importance of implementing situational leadership in Indonesian education. It suggests that other schools adjust their leadership style according to the needs and readiness of individuals to improve the quality of education effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of religious culture on the development of students' life skills in schools. Using a qualitative case study research design, this study explores how the integration of religious values in the educational environment can influence the formation of students' character, social, emotional, leadership, and resilience skills. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, extracurricular supervisors, and students, as well as direct observation of activities at school. The findings of the study indicate that the application of religious values has implications for the development of students' life skills, emphasizing moral, ethical, and emotional management aspects in everyday life. The integration of religious values in formal and extracurricular learning helps students build leadership skills based on collaboration and increases their resilience in facing academic and social challenges. Practically, the results of this study imply the need for schools to continue to strengthen the integration of religious values in every educational activity in order to prepare students to face increasingly complex life challenges. This study contributes to the development of character-based educational management theory, as well as providing insight for educational practitioners in designing learning environments that support students' holistic development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the managerial and organizational culture in one of the Islamic universities in Indonesia that has humanist and Qur’anic characteristics, as well as the forms of its implementation. This is expected to be a differentiator from the organizational culture patterns in other higher education institutions, especially private ones. This study uses an ethnographic approach with a data collection flow that adopts the Spradley model. This method was chosen to understand in depth how the integration of humanist and Qur’anic values is applied in the managerial culture that is characteristic of the university. Data collection was carried out through participatory observation, unstructured interviews, and closed questionnaires. Qualitative data validation used triangulation techniques of sources, methods, and researchers. Data analysis techniques were carried out qualitatively using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study indicate that the managerial culture applied in the Islamic university has unique characteristics, namely integrating the values contained in the Qur’an, which are manifested in real humanistic actions. This can be seen both in terms of regulations and interactions within it involving the leadership, lecturers, and employees. In addition, this study also found how the institution collaborates with external partner institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Quadrupel Helix model in strengthening the quality of Islamic higher education. The type of research used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis process is carried out through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data verification, with an inductive, deductive, and comparative approach. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Quadrupel Helix model in the transformation of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) into the State Islamic University (UIN) can strengthen the transition process through the synergy of four leading actors. First, government actors play a role in making regulations that facilitate changes in higher education levels. Second, industry actors function to establish cooperation in academic development. Third, academic actors are responsible for managing quality education services. Finally, community actors play a role as active supporters in educational activities. This study provides important implications for the development of Islamic higher education through the application of the Quadrupel Helix model as a strategic foundation for improving academic quality, expanding networks, and creating synergy between government, industry, academics, and society.

Abstract

This study investigates how teaching load and implementing project-based learning (PBL) models influence teacher performance, specifically focusing on the mediating role of work compensation. Despite the increasing adoption of PBL in classrooms, limited research has examined its direct and indirect effects on educators themselves. Using a quantitative survey approach, data were collected from 300 teachers across several schools in Probolinggo Regency. The research employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through SmartPLS to analyze direct and mediated relationships between the variables. Findings reveal that teaching load has a significant positive effect on both work compensation and teacher performance, whereas the direct impact of PBL on performance is statistically insignificant. However, PBL positively influences compensation, significantly contributing to performance improvement. These results suggest that compensation mechanisms are crucial in translating instructional innovations and workload demands into tangible improvements in teacher outcomes. The study underscores the importance of aligning institutional compensation policies with workload realities and pedagogical strategies to foster a more effective and motivated teaching workforce. The findings offer practical implications for educational stakeholders seeking to improve teacher performance through a balanced consideration of workload, compensation, and teaching methodology.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of zoning policies in new student admissions (PPDB), especially its role in strengthening public trust in education policies. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through three main stages: data reduction, data presentation, and verification, which refers to the Miles and Huberman approach. The study results indicate that the zoning policy has succeeded in increasing educational accessibility, especially for students from low socio-economic groups, with a more equitable distribution. However, technical challenges, such as limited technological literacy in the community and the need for more effective socialization, are still significant obstacles. Assistance posts in schools have proven to be an effective solution in increasing public understanding of this policy. Adjusting the zone radius based on school capacity is a strategic step to overcome the imbalance in the number of applicants. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of a multi-channel communication approach, strengthening community technological literacy, transparency in the implementation of education policies, and resources as considerations.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) utilization and digital collective synergy on the Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) of teachers in Islamic elementary schools (SDI). The study aims to fill the gap in understanding how knowledge sharing mediates the relationship between ICT utilization, digital collective synergy, and IWB. A quantitative approach was employed, using a structured survey distributed to 144 teachers selected through multistage cluster sampling. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the hypothesized relationships. The findings reveal that ICT utilization and knowledge sharing significantly contribute to enhancing IWB, while digital collective synergy does not have a direct impact. However, knowledge sharing proved to be a key mediator between ICT utilization and IWB. These results suggest that fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging knowledge sharing among teachers can enhance their innovative capabilities. The implications of this study highlight the importance of integrating ICT and knowledge-sharing initiatives in teacher development programs. This research contributes to the understanding of how technology and collaboration influence innovation in education, offering insights for policymakers and educational leaders to create more effective learning environments.
