Abstract

The study aimed to find out the effectiveness of substitution drill in teaching simple present tense. This study discussed about the treatment given for the language ability especially in Simple Present Tense. The method is used quantitative research. The data collection technique in this study used pre - test and post - test. The subject is 32 eighth grade students. In the process of English learning, the problem came up in grammar part, especially for simple present tense. Students have difficulty in this teaching learning process. It was caused many students are studying at home due to the COVID-19 disease. These teaching and learning activities have been carried out online, making the activities indirectly felt monotonous, getting bored and even stressed by the online learning situation. Students are increasingly lacking enthusiasm for learning because they found difficulties to understand the material explained by the teacher. Then, students may experience decreased motivation to study at home, because it is difficult to focus while studying online.  As the result and conclusion of this study, that substitution drill was an effective technique, it could improve students’ ability in learning simple present tense.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the effect of student motivation and honesty on science learning achievement. This study used quantitative in nature and employs a survey method.Three variables will be analyzed in this study: honesty, motivation, and science learning achievement. The subject in this researxh is 53 undergraduated students. Respondents completed questionnaires distributed by the researchers. After collecting data from respondents, the data must be tested. At the time of learning, the most critical characteristic that students must instill in each individual is the character of honesty and student motivation to participate in ongoing learning. This is done so that when students are actively engaged in learning, they can be completely honest in their actions and demonstrate a strong desire to learn. As a result, if it is instilled in students, it will affect their learning achievement. The findings of this study indicate that there is a significant effect of both honesty and motivation on student science learning achievement

Abstract

This study focused on students' learning strategies and extensive reading experience, as well as the varied tactics and disparities between them. In this study, the narrative inquiry method was applied. We polled ten active university students from a variety of disciplines and faculties. While conducting the intensive reading tasks, the researchers asked the respondents a few questions and asked them to discuss their experiences. The students were also interviewed over the phone by the researchers. The researchers chose the responders at random, without considering their major, knowledge, or other factors. Based on the findings, we can deduce that each student has similar challenges and employs a similar learning technique. The majority of them use online dictionaries to look up the definitions of new words.

Abstract

One of the challenges experienced by every university is to improve the quality of the tridharma of higher education, where the most important component in improving the quality is the lecturer. Pamulang University as one of the universities with the largest number of lecturers in Indonesia, namely 2024 lecturers, of course requires many aspects to improve its quality in order to realize the vision it wants to achieve. This study aims to produce a model of strengthening creativity in the form of a constellation model of the influence between variables and their mathematical model. From the mathematical model, it can be derived into a research hypothesis. The research begins by interviewing informants who are considered competent in providing the expected answers for further data reduction, data codification, data analysis, and conclusion drawing. The research was conducted at Pamulang University from June 2020 to February 2021. From the research that has been carried out, it is concluded that there are variables that are thought to have a positive and dominant influence on creativity, namely professional commitment, job satisfaction, and achievement motivation, while the intervening variables are job satisfaction and achievement motivation

Abstract

The POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) model is a constructivism-based learning model that allows students to build their own knowledge. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of the Lectora Inspire-assisted POE learning model on students' critical thinking skills. The research sample was 32 students of class XI MIPA 1 as the control class and 32 students of XI MIPA 3 as the experimental class. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design with nonequivalent control group design where in this study one group was given learning treatment using the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) model assisted by Lectora Inspire and the other group was not given any treatment. The data was obtained through a description test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing using T-test analysis, the value of Tcount is 4.309. The value of Tcount is 4.309 mote than Ttable 1.999 at a significance level of 0.05 then Ho is rejected, meaning that there is an influence of the Lectora Inspire-assisted POE learning model on students thinking skills on the bodys defense system material.

Abstract

The era of globalization is marked by changes and rapid developments that occur in various fields of life, one of which is in the field of education. This situation becomes a challenge for educators to always develop their abilities. This critical thinking skill becomes important to be appointed and trained in biology learning. Through this research, the aim is to analyze students' critical thinking skills using a blended learning model assisted by nearpod media on ecosystem materials. This study uses a quantitative approach which used method is a quasi-experimental method. The technique for collecting research data is through a description test of ten questions given during the pretest-posttest. Based on the data obtained during the study, it can be concluded thatthe results of critical thinking skills assisted by nearpod media got an average pretest of 55.53 which increased to 78.25 with an N-Gain value of 0.46 medium criteria. Students with critical thinking skills in the high category were 28 students, the medium category was 3 students, and the low category was 2 students.

Abstract

The rise of corruption cases illustrates that Indonesia is experiencing a crisis of morals and trust. Seeing these conditions, efforts to eradicate anti-corruption are needed. One of them is through preventive efforts in the form of anti-corruption education from an early age. This research aims to 1) develop the webtoon CANTIK, 2) find out the feasibility of the webtoon CANTIK, and 3) find out the effectiveness of the webtoon CANTIK to introduce anti-corruption moral values to children. The research method used is research and development which consists of 4 stages: define, design, development, and dissemination. The content contained in CANTIK contains simple forms of corruption and anti-corruption values. The first series describes a form of bribery corruption with anti-corruption values: honesty, responsibility, independence, and courage. The second series describes the form of corruption of the time with anti-corruption values: discipline, care and justice. The third series describes the form of greed corruption with anti-corruption values: simplicity, hard work, and responsibility.

Abstract

For pupils to acquire English, listening skill is a key component. TED Talks have emerged as a useful resource for teaching students the importance of being able to listen. The aim of this research is to distinguish students’ perceptions of Using TED Talks on listening comprehension in English Language Teaching at The English Education Study Program of Bengkulu University. The research design was descriptive quantitative research which involved 33 undergraduate students from classes A of semester V in the 2022-2023 academic year. They are all enrolled in the English department at Bengkulu University. In this research, the data were collected using a questionnaire adopted from Izzah et al., (2020) through google forms consisting of 10 questions. Hereinafter, the data were analyzed using IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) 26.0 program. The result showed that students’ perceptions of using TED Talks on public speaking were positive perspectives. Since the students are already aware of TED Talks from a previous course, students generally had positive perceptions of using TED Talks to improve listening skills
