Abstract

MSMEs contribute significantly to the growth of the national economy, although many still face challenges in managing their finances in an orderly and structured manner. Batako Simbah MSME is one example of a business actor that has not yet implemented an adequate financial recording system. This activity aims to optimize financial management through training in basic financial reporting and digitalization using Microsoft Excel. The methods used include observation, material presentation, technical training, and intensive mentoring. The results show that business owners have begun to understand the importance of financial recording, are able to prepare income statements, and calculate the cost of goods manufactured independently. The use of Excel for digital financial records has proven to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and accountability of financial information. This activity is expected to be the first step toward more professional financial management practices within MSMEs, with a long-term focus on sustainability.

Abstract

Based on the Objectives of Mathematical Concepts: so that students can understand and solve mathematical problems. Understanding mathematical concepts can also help students understand advanced lessons and solve problems in the world of work. Mathematical Concepts are the understanding, characteristics, specifics, nature, and content of mathematical material. Some of the objectives of learning mathematics, then the problems faced by students are: (1) improving intellectual abilities (2) training communication (3) developing student character (4) reasoning (5) connecting (6) proving (7) designing (8) improving knowledge attitudes and behavior. Assistance activities and training of mathematical learning outcomes through the basic learning problem model through the school curipot UPT SDN 064986, Medan Amplas District. In order for the purpose of learning mathematics to improve student learning outcomes with the concepts that have been applied by the teacher in the learning process and innovative students aim to help solve problems that are worked on individually and students of SDN 064986 Medan Amplas District are active in the learning process in the classroom. What we have implemented the purpose of the mathematical concept is achieved: so that students can understand and solve mathematical problems and understanding mathematical concepts can also help students in understanding advanced lessons and solving problems in the world of work.

Abstract

Authentic Assessment with the Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) approach offers comprehensive and thorough evaluations so that students can receive significant feedback. However, the implementation of Authentic Assessment with the ICC approach is still rarely carried out by English teachers at Yayasan SAS ANA Group because the teachers still use conventional assessments. This community service activity aims to enhance the understanding of English tutors in implementing Authentic Assessment with the ICC approach in English teaching. carried out systematically through the following stages: socialization, initial questionnaire completion, delivery of material using a communicative and tutorial approach, assessment creation practice, small group discussions, and continuous evaluation and mentoring. The survey results indicate a significant improvement in their understanding related to planning, interpretation, application, performance, and evaluation of assessments using the ICC approach

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to illustrate the successful implementation of Quran reading assistance that has been taking place at the residence of residents in Gang Sastro, Dusun V, Desa Bandar Setia. This activity is expected to provide benefits and tangible contributions to the children in the area. The approach used is a guidance method through direct practice assistance in reading the Quran for children of standard elementary school age in Bandar Setia Village. Where in reading the Quran, children still experience many difficulties in pronouncing letters and reading rules, so they still need guidance. The main source of learning is the Quran. The results of this activity reveal that Quran literacy mentoring for the children of Gang Sastra residents, Dusun V, Desa Bandar Setia has a positive impact and makes a tangible contribution. The children showed enthusiasm in learning, were able to read hijaiyah letters accurately, place harakat according to the rules, understand the rules of Quranic recitation according to tajwid principles, and could practice them correctly according to the guidance and instructions of the mentors.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the mental health of the people in Gantang Tani Village by utilizing local wisdom as a psychological resource that aligns with the cultural values and norms of the area. This agricultural village still maintains a strong traditional value system. Using a participatory approach through observation, interviews, FGD, and training for local facilitators, this activity explores cultural practices such as marsialapari (cooperation), manortor (traditional dance), customary rituals, and local proverbs in strengthening the psychological resilience of the community. The findings show that local wisdom can enhance a sense of solidarity, regulate emotions, and reduce collective pressure. The main issue is the cultural potential that has not yet been fully maximized as a psychological resource. This program fosters a new awareness of the significance of mental health within the cultural context. Suggestions include the integration of cultural values in psychological counseling, the development of locally-based mental health promotion modules, and the involvement of traditional leaders. This activity also produces a model of the village cultural calendar to support the mental well-being of the community. Overall, this service illustrates that culturally-based interventions have great potential in supporting mental health in rural communities in an inclusive and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance children's appreciation of Indonesia's cultural diversity through the use of flip-book and pop-up book media in an orphanage setting. The community service activity was conducted at Febrian Berkat Karunia Orphanage Foundation in Deli Serdang Regency. The implementation consisted of four stages: preparation, socialization, media demonstration, and evaluation through pretest and posttest. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity after engaging with the interactive media. Moreover, the intervention had positive effects on their cognitive, emotional, and fine motor development, as well as in strengthening their cultural identity. Flip-books and pop-up books proved to be effective educational tools that are engaging, interactive, and enriching for children's learning experiences on Indonesian cultural diversity.Keywords: Culture, Flip-book, Pop-up book

Abstract

This community service is carried out through mentoring activities for SAS English Laboratory tutors, 89% of whom are Generation Z. The current habits and the ease of social media have poisoned the mindset of Generation Z to experience "FOMO" by following current trends, especially frequent culinary tours in cafes. Restaurants or street food, which lead to poor financial management, have become a problem for SAS English Laboratory tutors in managing their finances. 65% of the tutors agree that culinary news shared on TikTok has become a destination that must be visited, even if only for a photo. This activity was carried out with the two-stay two-stray method, dividing each group to manage easy-to-make and delicious food, followed by the application of science and technology in managing finances well. The results from this community service activity have opened the partners' minds to better financial management, contributing to more effective organization and use of finances. This, in turn, helps avoid consumerism in daily life, particularly in food consumption outside of home, such as in cafes or snack places. The partners stated that savings significantly differentiate the characteristics of the two clusters, or in other words, the indicators by respondents in the two existing clusters are very different from one aThis also helps the psychology of Generation Z in managing finances.

Abstract

The implementation of community service carried out by vocational colleges certainly refers to the application of existing community skills in the educational environment. Increased knowledge and skills can be followed by an increase in the competitiveness of an educational institution. The implementation of the Solar Panel Module learning system and the basic introduction of electrical circuits will spur the development of learning systems through development of technology and information. Training with the application of the Solar Panel Module design method and the basic practice module of electrical circuits can answer the problems that exist in partners. The Collaborative Community Service Training that will be held is expected to establish a good relationship between the TCSC team of Medan State Polytechnic by involving institutions from other universities at home and abroad and Muhammadiyah 12 Elementary School Medan as a fostered partner by establishing an electrical engineering extracurricular activity at the elementary school level that can compete with other schools. The implementation of the training and learning methods is conducted in several stages. Firstly, a survey of activity implementation is conducted to build joint commitment with partners. This is followed by transferring knowledge gained from the Solar Panel Module training, which ultimately prepares for the establishment of a technology-based electrical engineering extracurricular activity tailored to the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of male and female preachers (mubaligh and mubalighah) in the context of inclusive Islamic preaching (dakwah) within urban areas, focusing on a case study at the Kreasi Bangun Semesta Foundation (YKBS) in Limo, Depok City. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Findings indicate that preachers in the YKBS environment face complex challenges, particularly with social diversity, the lack of contextual dakwah training, and limited utilization of digital media. Preaching activities remain largely normative and lack contextual adaptation to the urban setting. Therefore, revitalizing the role of preachers requires capacity strengthening in social communication, multicultural understanding, and community-based preaching strategies. This study recommends an inclusive, integrative, and participatory dakwah model as a strategic solution to address the dynamic challenges of urban Islamic preaching.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of teachers at the Al-Marwa Private Elementary School (MIS) in creating interactive and engaging digital literacy learning media, namely digital picture story books. The background to this activity is the low level of student literacy and the continued dominance of conventional learning methods that have not optimally utilized digital technology. Through a participatory training approach, teachers are equipped with digital literacy knowledge and technical skills using applications such as Canva and Heyzine to create digital books. The implementation results show that teachers experienced an increased understanding of digital literacy and enthusiasm in developing new learning media. Evaluations from 11 participants showed a high level of satisfaction with the material, understanding of digital literacy, and readiness to implement the training results. This activity not only strengthens teachers' competency in integrating technology into learning but also encourages the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) and the spirit of Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) through collaboration between lecturers and students. It is hoped that this activity can be implemented sustainably, and the training model implemented has the potential to be replicated in other schools to support improving the quality of digital literacy-based education.
