Abstract

Aggalara’ tradition in the pasunna’ ceremony in Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi, is part of a cultural heritage that holds religious values, especially those related to Islam such as gratitude, brotherhood, trust, and education. This research aims to understand how these values are realized in the implementation of the tradition. The approach used is descriptive qualitative research with an ethnographic method, through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data is analyzed using Talcott Parsons' structural functionalism theory to reveal how this tradition functions in strengthening social bonds and maintaining balance in the community. The research results show that gratitude is reflected in expressions of thanks to God for the blessings of life and the successful conduct of the pasunna’ ceremony. Solidarity and family relationships within the community demonstrate a strong value of brotherhood. Value of trust can be seen from the responsibilities of traditional leaders in carrying out their roles, while education is evident in the process of passing values to the younger generation. Aggalara’ tradition not only preserves local cultural identity but also deepens Islamic values in a contextual manner. This finding emphasizes that local culture can be an effective instrument for educating religious values in everyday community life.

Abstract

This research explored the impact of utilizing Wordwall-based educational games on the procedural writing learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Ujung Tanah 2 Makassar. Addressing the issue of students' underdeveloped writing skills, potentially linked to a scarcity of engaging instructional resources, the study adopted a quantitative methodology with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 30 students. The analysis of learning outcome data, conducted using a t-test with SPSS, showed a substantial increase in the average score from 28.17 to 85.83 (p < 0.05). These results indicate that the integration of Wordwall educational games had a positive and significant effect on the students' procedural text writing abilities.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the implementation of the "let's go to school" cultural strategy in realizing national education goals through the involvement of SMPN 3 Gempol One Roof in the community in Wonosunyo Village, Gempol District, Pasuruan Regency. The focus of this research is the implementation of the "let's go to school" cultural strategy. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The informants for this research were 5 people, namely teachers, students and the community. Data collection techniques in this research are structured interviews and documentation. Interview data will be analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that through outreach which is not only carried out by word of mouth, but through outreach, distributing brochures and posters inviting people to go to school, this can change people's mindset so that they are aware that education is mandatory for up to 12 years and is important for the future.

Abstract

Ethnoscience based science learning has gained increasing attention as an approach to contextualize science and integrate local wisdom into formal education. The study aimed to develop an ethnoscience teaching module integrating the local agroindustrial potential to improve students’ ecological literacy and entrepreneurial attitudes. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D models. The define stage involved needs analysis, the findings indicated that science learning remains conventional and has not yet utilized local potentials such as coffee, cocoa, patchouli oil, coconut oil, palm sugar, and palm oil as contextual learning resources. The design stage produced a module framework linking science concepts (carbon compounds, changes in matter, and green chemistry) with local commodity processing practices. The module was designed using an ethnoscience approach and was complemented with entrepreneurship projects and ecological literacy activities. In the development stage, expert validation yielded an average score of 3.7 (highly valid) and limited trial involving 23 students resulted in a practicality and readability score of 95% (highly practical). These findings imply that ethnoscience based modules integrating local agroindustry can serve as contextual and transferable learning resources to support students’ understanding of ecological literacy and entrepreneurial skills in regions with similar agroindustrial characteristics.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed models of communication and religious practice, including within the Sufi community. The purpose of this study is to analyze the transformation of the role of the murshid of the Qadiriyah Sufi Order in West Sulawesi within the educational and social spheres in the digital era. This research focuses on how the murshid uses digital media, the implications of this media use for spiritual authority, and its influence on the social cohesion of the congregation. This study utilizes a qualitative approach using communication ethnography methods, using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and digital content analysis. The results show that digitalization has reconstructed the role of the murshid from a traditional guide to a spiritual leader and virtual educator. WhatsApp, Zoom, and YouTube are used as tools for preaching, teaching, and strengthening congregational solidarity. These findings also indicate a shift in congregational preference for concise and practical content. Although concerns remain about the diminished spiritual meaning when direct contact with the murshid becomes less frequent. Therefore, digitalization opens up significant opportunities for the development of technology-based religious education, but still requires balance to ensure the spiritual depth and authority of the Sufi tradition are not lost.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the activity of browsing and uploading cultural content on Instagram towards the preservation of Bugis cultural values. This study uses a quantitative method with a causal associative design. The research sample consisted of 92 respondents who were active Instagram users in Arasoe Village, Bone Regency, selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale, while data analysis used descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results of this study indicate that the activity of browsing cultural content on Instagram has a partial effect. However, simultaneously, Instagram use still contributes to the preservation of local cultural values. This finding indicates that consumption of cultural content is more effective in strengthening awareness and internalization of Bugis cultural values than content production. Scientifically, this study contributes by distinguishing the role of consumption activities and content production in the preservation of digital culture and strengthens the application of Pierre Bourdieu's theory in the context of social media. Practically, the results of this study recommend the use of Instagram as a medium for cultural education by improving the quality of cultural content that is easily accessible to the younger generation.

Abstract

This research analyzes the role of the Inclusion Working Group (IWG) in improving the quality of life of vulnerable groups in Simbang Village, Maros Regency, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities (35 people: 14 men, 21 women) faced barriers to accessing public services, social stigma, and economic limitations before the KKI was established in 2022 through the INKLUSI-BaKTI Program. KKI serves as a bridge between the community and village government to realize inclusive development in accordance with Village Law No. 6/2014, filling a gap in the study of local institutions at the village level. The research methods involved in-depth interviews, participatory observation and documentation with purposive informants from KKI members, village officials and vulnerable groups. Data were analyzed through reduction, display, and verification with source triangulation to ensure validity. The results show that KKI plays a role in valid data collection, assistance in accessing services (Disdukcapil, social assistance), policy advocacy (Musrenbang), and economic empowerment through MSME training, which increases social participation, self-confidence, and the quality of life of vulnerable groups. Although structural challenges such as workspace and budget and social challenges such as family stigma still exist, KKI has succeeded in transforming the status of vulnerable groups from objects of pity to active subjects, in line with the SDGs “No One Left Behind”. This research contributes to the sociological study of social inclusion and provides practical input for responsive village policies. Key suggestions include strengthening KKI facilities and anti-stigma socialization for sustainability of inclusion.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how peer interaction can be effectively utilized to foster values of togetherness and social care within the context of Pancasila learning at the elementary education level, particularly in Class VI of MIN 2 Majene. The study adopts a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach, focusing on an in-depth understanding of the role of peers in cultivating togetherness and social concern through Pancasila instruction in Class VI of MIN 2 Majene. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using data triangulation techniques, which include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that peer interaction plays a central role in nurturing students’ values of togetherness and social care through Pancasila learning in Class VI of MIN 2 Majene. Activities such as group work, discussions, and educational games enable students to directly experience values such as cooperation, tolerance, and empathy within a supportive and engaging learning environment. Students feel more comfortable and motivated when learning alongside their peers, which accelerates the internalization of Pancasila values. However, teachers face challenges in optimizing this strategy due to time constraints imposed by curricular demands and limited opportunities for professional training.

Abstract

This study aims to understand teachers’ experiences in responding to curriculum changes and their implications for teaching performance at SD Hj. Isriati Moenadi Ungaran. The focus is not only on policy transformation but also on how teachers interpret and adapt to these changes in instructional practice. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological perspective was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and subsequently interpreted using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. The findings indicate that curriculum changes are perceived as both challenges and opportunities. Teachers encounter difficulties in understanding new concepts and adjusting instructional tools. In addition, limited training and administrative demands affect their readiness. However, these conditions also encourage teachers to become more adaptive and creative in their teaching practices. The impact of these changes is reflected in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. This study concludes that the success of curriculum implementation is strongly influenced by teachers’ ability to understand and adapt to change. Therefore, continuous professional development aligned with teachers’ real experiences is essential.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the story structure and uncover the cultural values contained in Palembang folktales. The study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. The data sources are several folktales that have developed in the Palembang community, obtained through documentation and literature studies. The analysis is carried out by examining elements of story structure such as theme, plot, characters and characterization, setting, and moral, then identifying the cultural values reflected in the stories. The results show that Palembang folktales have a relatively simple narrative structure but are strong in conveying moral messages. In addition, various cultural values were found that are still relevant to community life, such as the values of togetherness, respect for parents, local wisdom, honesty, hard work, and the relationship between humans and nature and their social environment. These values indicate that folktales function not only as entertainment, but also as a means of cultural inheritance and character formation in society. This research is expected to enrich the study of regional literature and become learning materials in education, especially in learning Indonesian.
