Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of strengthening religious moderation through student development at UIN Kiai Ageng Muhammad Besari Ponorogo. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type in the 2021–2025 period. Data were obtained from primary sources in the form of interviews with leaders, lecturers, and students, as well as secondary sources in the form of institutional documents. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study showed that strengthening religious moderation was carried out through an integrated strategy based on three pillars, namely intracurricular, cocurricular, and extracurricular. This integration is reflected in the curriculum, thematic activities of the Religious Moderation House, and student activism through student organizations. These findings show that an integrated approach is effective in forming an inclusive and tolerant attitude of religiosity. This study concludes that integration-based student development is a key strategy in strengthening religious moderation, although it still requires further development to be widely adapted.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the influence of the Reflective Qur’anic Inquiry-based Al-Qur’an Hadith learning model on improving students’ Islamic literacy and social awareness at MAN 1 Majene. The research applied a quantitative method with both descriptive and inferential approaches to examine the influence of the Reflective Qur’anic Inquiry learning model on the Islamic literacy and social awareness of eleventh-class students during the 2024/2025 academic year. The study population consisted of 396 students from 15 classes, while the sample included 80 students selected through a simple random sampling technique using the Taro Yamane formula. Data collection was conducted through documentation and a Likert-scale questionnaire that had previously undergone validity and reliability testing. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 26 through descriptive statistical analysis, prerequisite testing such as normality and linearity tests, and hypothesis testing using simple linear regression, coefficient of determination analysis, and the F-test to determine both the influence and feasibility of the regression model used in the study. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Reflective Qur’anic Inquiry-based Al-Qur’an Hadith learning model at MAN 1 Majene was categorized as fairly good and contributed to improving students’ Islamic literacy and social awareness. In addition, the hypothesis testing demonstrated that the learning model had a significant effect on increasing the Islamic literacy and social awareness of eleventh-class students. Therefore, the reflection- and inquiry-oriented learning model can be considered effective in helping students understand Islamic values while also fostering social awareness in their daily lives.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze and formulate a revitalization strategy for pesantren pedagogy to shape students who are adaptable in the Society 5.0 era, whilst remaining rooted in the values and traditions of Pesantren An-Nawawi Berjan Purworejo. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design; data is classified into primary and secondary data. Primary data consists of information and actions obtained directly from key informants, while secondary data includes written documents. Data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses an interactive model that includes data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and a conclusion drawn, and is tested for validity through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that pesantren pedagogy based on habituation, example, and a 24-hour life system is effective in forming religious character and discipline, but has not fully developed cognitive adaptivity and digital literacy. Existing values, learning practices, and pedagogical relationships tend to be normative and hierarchical, so they require transformation. The resulting reactualization model emphasizes the integration between traditional values of Islamic boarding schools, the competency demands of Society 5.0 (digital literacy, collaboration, problem solving), as well as the principles of preserving tradition and innovation. This study concludes that the reactualization of pesantren pedagogy must be integrative and transformative in order to form students with strong character and be adaptive to changing times.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an optimization model for the selection system in the management of outstanding student admissions based on academic and non-academic achievements in State Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri) across Lampung Province, as well as to describe the current implementation of the selection system, analyze the constraints encountered, and examine optimization based on the principles of Islamic educational management. This research employs a qualitative approach with a multisite case study method conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung, Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Metro, and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Scholar East Lampung, with data and data sources obtained from principals, teachers, educational staff, students, and supporting documents related to the research focus. With data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that the selection system has been implemented by integrating various instruments such as academic tests, report card scores, achievement portfolios, interviews, and digitalization; however, it is not yet fully optimal and standardized, with main constraints including non-uniform selection mechanisms, the absence of standardized assessment rubrics, limited committee competence, suboptimal digitalization, and low transparency. Therefore, optimizing the selection system requires strengthening the principles of justice, trustworthiness, honesty, professionalism, and public benefit in every stage of the selection process. The resulting model is an integrated selection system based on merit system, digitalization, and Islamic educational management values, with the conclusion that a standardized, objective, and value-based selection system can improve the quality of student input and enhance public trust in madrasas.

Abstract

This study explores how the school principal contributes to the development of an Adiwiyata School through the application of the POAC management framework, which includes planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling, at SD Negeri 05 Beji, Taman District, Pemalang Regency. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to gain a comprehensive understanding of leadership practices in the implementation of environmental education programs. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis involving the principal, teachers, and other school stakeholders directly engaged in the Adiwiyata program. The findings reveal that the principal plays a central role in shaping the school’s environmental management strategy. In the planning stage, environmental priorities are integrated into school policies and operational programs. In organizing, clear responsibilities are assigned through the establishment of a dedicated Adiwiyata team. During implementation, the principal encourages collaboration, motivation, and active participation among teachers, students, and the wider school community. Continuous supervision and evaluation further support program consistency and long-term sustainability. These findings suggest that the success of Adiwiyata development depends not only on infrastructure or formal policy, but also on the principal’s leadership capacity to foster collective commitment toward environmental responsibility within the school community.
