Abstract

Babakan Village in Bandung City is known for its tofu industry, particularly Cibuntu Tofu, which has led to the development of a Tourism Village aimed at educating tourists about tofu. The village has begun attracting both local and foreign tourists. However, field observations identified several issues, including the lack of sapta pesona implementation, insufficient guidance, and limited English language skills. To address these challenges, a Community Service program was organized to provide training on tourism awareness, guidance, and basic English skills. This training aimed to enhance the abilities of local resources, particularly Pokdarwis members, who serve as guides, and to encourage the community to embrace sapta pesona as part of the Tourism Aware program. The training used theoretical knowledge transfer and practical simulations, followed by evaluations through quizzes. Fifteen Pokdarwis members, including youth, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and PKK mothers, participated in the program. Post-training surveys indicated that participants found the material both interesting and useful, with many requesting additional training to further enhance their tourism knowledge and skills for the continued development of the tourism village.

Abstract

Wellness tourism is a tourist activity that not only aims for entertainment and pleasure, but also health. Lerep Village is one of the tourist villages that has a lot of potential to be developed into one of the wellness tourism objects. One of the highlights is the culinary sold in the traditional Sunday Pon market based on local wisdom. Currently there is no development of yogurt-based products in this traditional market, even though there is a lot of potential from livestock and agricultural products that can be developed as yogurt products. Yogurt is one type of food rich in bacteria which is expected to be one way to maintain public health, especially digestive health. Tourism cadres in this village have long been fostered by the Faculty of Medicine of Sultan Agung Islamic University, especially in the development of forest bathing tourism. This service activity aims to provide basic education and training to 20 forest bathing tourism cadres in traditional yogurt making. The training was held for 1 day with counseling methods and one-day training. Before and after the training, the participants were given pretest and post test, and the results of a significant increase in knowledge were obtained from the participants. After this training, it is hoped that the tourism cadres can produce yogurt so that it can become one of the healthy snack choices in Lerep Tourism Village.

Abstract

One of the non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is diabetes mellitus (DM), which is characterised by high blood sugar levels and metabolic disorders of carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins due to insufficient insulin function. Early detection is rare due to the absence of complaints. The government, through BPJS Kesehatan, urges JKN participants aged >= 15 years to conduct health history screening with the aim of identifying potential risks for diabetes mellitus, hypertension, coronary heart disease, and chronic kidney disease. Empowerment and increased community participation through Posbindu PTM activities with its cadres are two of the efforts to control DM disease and its complications. The purpose of this community service (Pengabmas) is to provide education and training on diabetes and its complications to health cadres in Jabungan Village, Semarang City, as partners in this Pengabmas. This community service uses the Active Human Learning Method (CBIA), which consists of two activities: counselling through videos containing material on the introduction of safe carbohydrates as a prevention of diabetes mellitus and its complications, and training in the early detection skills of NCDs through BPJS web screening. This activity was attended by 16 cadres, who were very enthusiastic during the activity. The results of the activity showed an increase in cadre knowledge in the good category by 80% and sufficient knowledge by 20%.
