Abstract

This research aims to describe creativity in the creative writing of Jeddah Indonesian School students. Creativity is one aspect that determines the excellence of a piece of writing. Creativity is the ability to produce something new. Creativity needs to be present in writing because the more creative it is, the better the writing. This research is qualitative research using descriptive methods to describe creativity in the creative writing of Jeddah Indonesian School students. The results of this research reveal that the stories and poetry written by the Jeddah Indonesian School students are creative writing. In the story written by the Jeddah Indonesian School students, there are elements of creativity in it, namely 1) theme creativity; 2) characters and characterization; 3) background; 4) groove; 5) mandate; and 6) language style. Then, there are also elements of creativity in poetry written by students at the Jeddah Indonesian School. The elements of creativity are 1) theme creativity; 2) title; 3) language style; and 4) instilling values.

Abstract

Kurangnya kemampuan menulis pada masyarakat Indonesia membuat mereka kesulitan dalam menyampaikan ide dalam bentuk tulisan. Keterampilan menulis merupakan salah satu aspek kebahasaan yang cukup sulit dikuasai jika tidak dilatih dengan tekun. Upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis pada masyarakat Indonesia perlu dilakukan sejak dini. Pembelajaran keterampilan menulis dapat dilakukan di sekolah yaitu pada materi menulis cerita pendek. Pemilihan media yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita pendek penting dilakukan untuk menarik minat peserta didik. Media yang tepat dapat mengefektifkan pembelajaran dan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerita pendek peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan media film pendek dan lagu terhadap keterampilan menulis cerita pendek peserta didik. Temuan dalam penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa terdapat keefektifan media film pendek dan lagu terhadap keterampilan menulis cerita pendek. Hasil posttest dengan menggunakan media film pendek menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 78,89, sedangkan hasil posttest dengan menggunakan media lagu menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 73,52. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media film pendek lebih efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis cerita pendek. Hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa peserta didik lebih tertarik dan termotivasi dalam belajar sehingga keterampilan menulis cerita pendeknya meningkat.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the benefits of the novel Si Anak Cahaya by Tere Live as a literacy medium in an effort to strengthen the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. This research will focus the analysis of the novel on the dimensions of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila obtained through the attitudes and actions of the main character. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with a novel content analysis method. Descriptive research is research carried out by providing an overview of research results. The document data source used is the novel entitled Si Anak Cahaya by Tere Liye. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling, namely a sampling technique that is based on certain considerations, objectives and reasons. The results of this research are that the novel Si Anak Cahaya by Tere Liye contains the dimensions of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila, namely: (1) having faith, being devoted to God Almighty, and having noble morals: (2) working together: (3) being independent; (4) critical reasoning; and (5) creative. Based on the results and discussions that have been obtained, it can be concluded that the novel Si Anak Cahaya is suitable to be used as a media for literacy and strengthening the Profil Pelajar Pancasila in high school. Abstract

This research provides valuable insights into using the Case Based Learning (CBL) Model in teaching Mandarin to children. With a focus on bridging the gap between theory learned in the classroom and factual problems in the field, this approach appears to successfully provide relevant solutions based on scholarly theory for factual cases. The finding that the CBL model has developed skills in organizing topics and issues, making decisions, and identifying problems indicate its effectiveness in preparing learners to face real-world challenges. This is important because it helps learners relate their knowledge to more meaningful and applicable contexts. The positive perception of learners towards CBL, especially in terms of increasing active class participation, suggests that this approach is not only beneficial in terms of learning but also motivates learners to engage more deeply in the learning process. However, the finding that openness to accepting opinions from others needs to be improved indicates that there is still room for further development in implementing this model. This could be a focus point for improvement in the future, such as strengthening collaborative elements in learning. Overall, this research makes a meaningful contribution to strengthening empirical evidence of the effectiveness of the CBL Model in the context of teaching Mandarin to children and highlights the importance of considering learners' perceptions in designing effective learning approaches.

Abstract

Conversation analysis is a method for analyzing a conversation that involves two or morepeople. This analysis is required to determine what types of aspects are used during theconversation's occurrence. This research entitled “Conversation Analysis between Shakira andJimmy Fallon in the episode” Shakira’s Music Teacher Wouldn’t Let Her Join the SchoolChoir” is aimed to analyze and describes the aspects of conversation analysis used in the talkshow conversation. The researcher used qualitative descriptive as the analysis method based onthe theory of Paltridge. The data source were taken from Youtube video on The Tonight ShowStarring Jimmy Fallon Channel. This research resulted that there are five aspects of theconversation analysis applied such as opening, adjacency pairs, topic management, turn-taking,and feedback. The most dominant aspect of Conversation Analysis discovered in the talk showwas turn-taking aspect. Therefore, there were not closing, preference organization, and repair inthe talk show.

Abstract

Emotional pain is a psychological condition that is often experienced by people who have experienced trauma or deep emotional difficulties. Maera, the main character in the novel "Kresek Hitam" by Honey Dee, experiences severe emotional wounds due to the injustice and family problems she experiences. The aim of this research is to study psychological counseling methods to heal Maera's inner wounds in the novel "Kresek Hitam". This research uses a qualitative approach and analyzes relevant counseling psychology theories. The research results showed that the injustice and family problems experienced by Maera had an impact on her emotional and psychological condition. Maera received help in improving her mental health and repairing her inner trauma through a counseling psychology approach used through individual counseling methods and group therapy.

Abstract

This research discussed the relationship between psycholinguistics and learning listening skills in an educational context. Psycholinguistics is a field of study that combines linguistics and psychology to understand how language is understood, produced and acquired by humans. Learning listening skills, as part of the language acquisition process, displays a close relationship with psycholinguistic concepts. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to describe the listening process in classroom learning based on video shows available on YouTube "SD63 BAGAIMANA MENYIMAK YANG EFEKTIF". Analysis was carried out on teacher teaching techniques and student responses to listening activities. The research results showed that effective teaching methods require the application of psycholinguistic principles, such as the use of clear intonation and appropriate speed in delivering material. The aims of this research were (1) to find out how listening skills relate to psycholinguistics, (2) to find out good listening learning models to be implemented in the future, (3) to analyze listening learning videos, both inappropriate learning and inappropriate listening learning. it's right. This research provided a deeper understanding of the importance of integrating psycholinguistic concepts in learning listening skills to increase the effectiveness of the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of the interactive page "Cerita Kita" to improve the intensive reading skills of BIPA students at Surabaya State University. The learning product used is an interactive website page that can make it easier for BIPA students to access reading learning. The results of this development were tested in learning in the ISS BIPA class at Surabaya State University. The development model used is the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) development model to determine the effectiveness of interactive pages. This research uses a quantitative approach with data collection methods using observation sheets, interviews, and questionnaires. The subjects in this research were BIPA level 2 students at Surabaya State University. In line with the objectives, the research results show the effectiveness of the page based on observations of student activities (80%) and the completion of learning outcomes in the very good category (100%), BIPA students showed a positive response to the interactive page with a percentage of 96.9%. Abstract

This research aims to elucidate the inferential meanings in the utterances of Luis Moreno Ocampo, an Argentine lawyer who served as the first Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) from 2003 to 2012, overseeing investigations into war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity; and the UpFront host during the interview. The implications of this study are to assist readers, particularly viewers and listeners of the UpFront program, in understanding the inferential meanings of the speakers, thereby enabling the broader community to fully comprehend the speakers' intentions and avoid misinterpretations of the discourse presented. The research method employed is qualitative research with a contextual meaning analysis (pragmatic) approach, following the relevance theory by Sperber and Wilson (2012a). The results of the research indicate that The 1st Speaker (and continuely written as SPK 1, refers to Up Front program hostaims to validate claims of Israeli involvement in war crimes and genocide during the UpFront program, by highlighting the pursuit of justice in the Israel-Palestine conflict. SPK 2 (the 2nd speaker, refers to Luis Moreno Ocampo) offers a broader perspective by acknowledging the responsibility shared between Hamas and Israel for the atrocities committed, rather than solely blaming one party. SPK 2 also intends to emphasize the challenges faced by international legal institutions such as the International Criminal Court in holding perpetrators accountable. Inferentially, SPK 2 seeks global cooperation to combat genocide and promote peace, particularly emphasizing the importance of collective action based on solidarity in addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Abstract

Zootopia is an animated film released in 2016 by Walt Disney Animation Studios. This movie not only offers entertainment for various audiences, but also conveys a deep social message about resistance to stereotypes and discrimination. This study uses narrative theory. Todorov (1971) put forward the concept of "equilibrium-disequilibrium-new equilibrium" in narrative structure, which suggests that the story begins in a state of equilibrium, experiences disruption, and finally returns to a new equilibrium. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The primary data used in this study comes from the film Zootopia (2016). While secondary data comes from articles and film reviews, such as academic articles, film critic reviews, and media analysis regarding Zootopia. This study aims to analyze how Zootopia represents and challenges stereotypes and discrimination through its narrative and characterization. It will explore the strategies and actions used by the characters to defy prejudice and prove their abilities beyond narrow social expectations. Through its complex characters and meaningful plot, the movie invites audiences to reflect on the impact of prejudice and discrimination, and the importance of inclusion and equality.
