Abstract

PKM Activities Drug Users are conducted in two institutions in Medan City, which referred as Drug Rehabilitation Center are Narcotics Prevention Rehabilitation Agency (LRPPN) and Rumah Ummi, according to the guidance of the dedication partner of the North Sumatra Narcotics Community Information Center (PIMANSU) each involving 10 drug users from LRPPN and 5 drug users from Rumah Ummi. The problem in both centers is the high number of relapse from drug users because of the lack of attention into build stronger mind and behavior patterns to return to vulnerable communities. This relapse problem can be minimized by increasing abstinence of self efficacy (ASE) that is a belief to refuse using drugs again. Therefore, the main objective and target of PKM Drug Users activities is to enable drug users to face high risk situations through increasing ASE. Target activities include restructuring the irrational mind to be rational as well as understanding the techniques on facing high risk situations. Several methods are used in the achievement of the objectives of field surveys as well as group discussions, frequently asked questions, assignments and reviews. The solutions offered consist of (1) training to recognize the irrational thoughts of drug-related behavior, (2) training to test the truth of the benefits of using drugs, (3) training to recognize high risk situations common to drug users and (4) training using 5 techniques when dealing with situations that potentially trigger relapse.

Abstract

In the cognitive development, students of elementary school need a real object in the learning process which has an impact on elementary school teachers who have to be able to make their own properties. The purpose of this community service is to provide information to teachers of SD Ana Maritim Surabaya to make the simple and easy media. Stages took in the process are: the participants formed a group of three and each group consists of three or four participants. Each group got the tools and materials needed to make props. Participants created props according to the directions available on given hand-out. The result of this community services are (1) the participants are making mathematical props using paper--coins integer and various forms of two-dimensional figure and (2) for Science media, participants created jumping can and coloured water in bottles.

Abstract

In accordance Regulation Minister of Health Republic of Indonesia No. 492 / MENKES / PER / IV / 2010 about Quality Requirements of Water Drink, the acidity (pH) of water drink about 6.5 - 8. Based on situation analysis, Teru Village of Central Bangka Regency is below the standard, which about 4.1. The low pH of water drink in Teru village cause negative effect for health. So, an effort to improve the quality of water drink is needed. Through IbM Devotion of Society was created by filtration tool on eggshell-based waste in Teru Village, Central Bangka Regency. By utilizing an egg shell waste containing calcium carbonate, it is expected to increase the pH of the water. Based on the results of trials in the field, the results obtained that there was an increase in the pH of water drink to 6.91, which is in accordance with drinking water quality standard.

Abstract

In Sidomulyo Village there is a weaving craft industry that has the potential to be international. This weaving industry is AJZ's weaving industry, owned by Mrs. Asih Tri Tanti, a full-time female worker. According to the results of an interview with Ms. Asih Tri Tanti on April 13, 2017, it is known that her weaving skills are currently acquired while working as a migrant worker in Brunei Darussalam. Then in 2013, this craftsman returned to Sidomulyo Village to develop the potential of weaving craft in his village. However, there were many obstacles. Finally, from 2013 to 2017, Bu Asih worked with businessmen from the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam and had been contracted for 10 years by this country. Each sheet, this woven fabric is sold at Rp. 5,000,000. The potential of Asih bu is very likely to be developed. The development of these handicrafts can open employment opportunities from local residents and certainly improve the welfare of the community, especially vulnerable women and women with disability. This service aims to (1) increase the availability of human resources from diffable groups and vulnerable women, (2) shape the mindset of the people who have the character of independence, (3) establish coordination between the government and the community regarding the development of weaving potential, and (4) provide a place for people with disabilities who are members of PPDI to develop their skills. The method of implementation is carried out through seminars and weaving training for vulnerable women and women with disabilities. The results show that UB's community service activities in this weaving training are able to (1) improve Human Resources (HR) (disabled and vulnerable women) in Sidomulyo Village, Blitar Regency, (2) improve the mindset of the people who have the character of independence, and (3) able to change the mindset of the local community to not be ashamed to work in weaving in their own neighbors.

Abstract

A community service (PKM) has been in Blitar. Its objective is to describe the ability of chemistry teacher in preparing learning materials: syllabus, lesson plan and worksheet based inquiry model to train science process skills and the response of the teachers during the training activitie. Steps the activities of community service are activities undertaken refresher teacher competency and making of learning materials based inquiry model. Evaluation is done by questionnaires to participants to get the data in response to the implementation of training and marking the product of learning materials. Based on data from results of the training, it can be concluded: (1) general response chemistry teacher MGMPs in Blitar on the activities of the training is good,(2) the ability of chemistry teachers MGMP in Blitar in formulating activities based learning models of inquiry learning is good.

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PKM) have been carried out regarding the management of chemical education laboratories in the form of training. The training was given to teachers of Blitar Regency MGMP members. The training activities aimed to increase teachers' knowledge about the management and management of the Chemistry Education Laboratory. The implementation method started from preparation and planning, implementation and evaluation. The results of the training showed an increase in participants' understanding of the management of chemical laboratory. Training activities can be carried out well, and receive positive responses from participants. As many as 67% of participants sent a report on the implementation of laboratory management tasks as a post test in their respective schools. Related to the implementation of the evaluation of the training showed a positive response as indicated by the dominant percentage in the positive (very good and good) total answer statements between 70-90%. Judging from its total usefulness, 89% stated that training activities were very useful and beneficial.

Abstract

 Physics is a part of sciences that underlies the development of advanced technology and the concept of living in harmony with nature. In physics learning, conceptual understanding with direct learning experience might be able to carry out through experimental or practicum activities by utilizing practicum tools in the Physics Laboratory of school and also by holding out some demonstrations during class. The development of thermophysical practicum tools and the arrangement of related student workbook (LKS) are mainly purposed to improve the pedagogical and profession competence of high school physics teachers who are members of MGMP Fisika SMA Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Bojonegoro, to be accustomed and skillful to make and use of high school physics learning which is simple and can support high school physics learning. The training activities by the 2017 PKM Team are carried out in three stages: designing, manufacturing of thermophysical practicum tools, and comprehensive evaluations. This activity is expected to increase the pedagogical and profession competence high school physics teachers of Kabupaten Bojonegoro, especially in the manufacture of media and practicum visual This activity is expected to increase the competence of pedagogy and profession of high school physics teachers of Bojonegoro Regency, especially in the manufacture of media and visual practicum visuals as well as a form of teaching a physics-based approach to a scientific approach. Workshop activities are planned to be followed by several high school physics teachers of Bojonegoro Regency. The time of the workshop is on Saturday 21st of October 2017. The average performance of the trainees this time has been very good. The participants' responses to this activity are also very good. Evident from the performance test sheet and training participants 'responses indicating that 70% of the participants had excellent performance and more than 70% of participants stated that the event was excellent in supporting students' understanding of the thermophysical material, especially Stirling Machine.

Abstract

Guru sebagai salah satu komponen penting dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan dituntut untuk memiliki keterampilan pedagogik yang baik. Salah satu ketrampilan yang dimaksud adalah keterampilan guru untuk dapat membuat dan menggunakan media pembelajaran. Usia peserta didik sekolah dasar menurut teori perkembangan intelektual Piaget dikategorikan masih pada tahap operasional konkret. Hal ini menyebabkan penggunaan media pembelajaran untuk peserta didik sekolah dasar sangat diperlukan. Faktanya, dari hasil observasi awal di SDN Karah 1 Surabaya, belum semua guru (17,4%) pernah membuat media pembelajaran dan belum semua guru (86,9%) mendapatkan pelatihan tentang pembuatan media pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu pelatihan pembuatan media pembelajaran matematika di SDN Karah I dilakukan. Dari hasil pelatihan, diperoleh tujuh desain media pembelajaran diantaranya: rumah penjumlahan rumah perkalian, kartu pecahan, koin bilangan + dan koin bilangan  -, macam-macam bangun datar, tangram, dan media berbasis powerpoint. Respon yang diberikan guru-guru dari pelatihan pembuatan media ini positip dan guru-guru menginginkan adanya pelatihan atau workshop lanjutan.

Abstract

Tata kelola kearsipan memiliki peranan penting bagi setiap instansi tidak terkecuali bagi Pemerintah Desa Kupang, Kecamatan Jabon, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Dalam penyelenggaraan pemerintahan dan pembangunan, pemerintah Desa Kupang membutuh beragam informasi sebagai sumber daya pendukung. Tata kelola kearsipan yang baik mampu mendukung kedua kegiatan tersebut. Namun peneliti menemukan beberapa kekurangan yang dimiliki oleh pemerintah Desa Kupang sehingga tata kelola kearsipan belum berjalan optimal. Berberapa hal yang menjadi kekurangan pemerintah Kupang misalnya (1) Kurangnya pemahaman perangkat desa tentang penerapan 5 S (Seiton, Seiri, Seisou, Seiketsu dan Shitsuke); (2) masih terbatasnya ketrampilan aparat dalam penerapan 5S; (3) Terbatasnya pemahaman perangkat tentang format baru buku register desa dan keterkaitan tata kelola kearsipan yang baik dengan pencatatan buku register desa. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut Tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) Prodi S1 Ilmu Administrasi Negara, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, berkeinginan untuk membantu perangkat Desa Kupang untuk meningkatkan kualitas tata kelola kearsipan dan administrasi pemerintahan desa. Terdapat 2 kegiatan diselenggarakan oleh tim yakni (1) Pemaparan dan diskusi tentang penerapan prinsip 5 S untuk mendukung administrasi pemerintah desa dan (2) Simulasi penerapan prinsip 5S dan pencatatan buku register desa. Meskipun perangkat desa menyambut positif kegiatan yang tim lakukan namun masih ada beberapa masukan yang mereka berikan terkait pelaksanaan PKM, misalnya perangkat desa menginginkan waktu pelatihan yang lebih lama dan Tim PKM diberikan saran juga untuk berkoordinasi dengan pemerintah Kecamatan Jabon tentang tata kelola kearsipan, mengingat selama ini Pemerintah Kecamatan yang melakukan penilaian kepada Desa Kupang. Kata Kunci : tata kelola kearsipan, prinsip 5S, administrasi pemerintahan desa

Abstract

Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik (PMR) merupakan salah satu alternatif pendekatan pembelajaran yang memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk belajar matematika secara bermakna dan realistik bagi siswa. Prinsip emergent modeling dalam PMR menuntut ketersediaan media pembelajaran agar siswa dapat membayangkan situasi masalah yang diberikan. Namun permasalahan yang muncul adalah keterbatasan media murah yang dapat digunakan guru dan keterbatasan pengetahuan guru dalam merancang pembelajaran matematika realistik berbantuan media. Di lain pihak, sejumlah besar barang bekas dibiarkan menumpuk, kurang dimanfaatkan. Padahal barang bekas dapat didaur ulang menjadi barang dengan nilai guna, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkannya untuk kepentingan belajar dan mengajar matematika. Pelatihan pembelajaran matematika realistik dengan bantuan media berbahan bekas di sekolah dasar dapat menjadi solusi praktis untuk membantu guru menyelenggarakan proses pembelajaran matematika yang bermakna, menarik, interaktif, mudah diikuti dan murah. Meskipun rancangan pembelajaran yang dihasilkan belum memenuhi prinsip dan karakteristik pembelajaran matematika realistik, kegiatan ini dinilai bermanfaat dan berhasil dalam membantu guru untuk memilih bahan bekas sebagai media dan merancang pembelajaran matematika dengan media tersebut. Dari kegiatan ini, dihasilkan 27 desain pembelajaran matematika dengan media berbahan bekas yang berbeda dari 36 desain yang dibuat. Rancangan pembelajaran yang dibuat meliputi beberapa topik matematika untuk kelas 3 dan 4 sekolah dasar.
