Abstract

Country Tengah-Tengah is a coastal village characterized by a hilly highland topography, where the majority of the population are engaged in fishing as their primary livelihood. During times of abundant fish supply, all catches are typically sold in the market and are not retained for household consumption. However, when fish become scarce due to adverse weather conditions, the community tends to seek alternative protein sources such as tofu and tempeh as substitutes for fish, and some individuals even opt not to consume fish. There are also those who have a lesser preference for fish consumption. The aim of PKM is to provide education on fishery product processing as part of efforts to strengthen protein-based food security by introducing processed fish products. This is intended to enhance the community's understanding of the importance of fish consumption. The methods employed in this activity include lectures, discussions, and training sessions. Lectures are delivered in the form of power point presentations and leaflets, followed by question and answer sessions. The target audience comprises members of the PKK and housewives in County Tengah-Tengah, Central Maluku. Following the educational sessions, there was an increase in knowledge levels among the participants, transitioning from ignorance to awareness. Participants acknowledged their satisfaction with the wealth of information provided, covering topics such as the benefits of fish and its nutritional content, fish processing techniques, product diversification, preservation methods, quality control, surimi production, application of surimi in various fish products, and proper packaging techniques. It is expected that through this activity, the community will be able to produce surimi products according to their characteristics and be motivated to create diverse and high-quality processed fish products. This initiative aims to increase the added value of fish, address the scarcity of fish during certain seasons, and contribute to additional income generation for the residents of Country Tengah-Tengah.

Abstract

Optimization techniques are one of the important materials that need to be understood well by Industrial Engineering students at all levels. One form of development of optimization techniques is manifested in scheduling machines on the production floor in the real industrial world, which of course requires more advanced methods than those generally studied in class. Student literacy regarding advanced optimization techniques needs to continue to be sharpened, especially at the master's level. This community service (PkM) activity aims to share knowledge with master students majoring in Industrial Engineering at Mapua University, Philippines regarding advanced optimization engineering material by highlighting real case studies. The method applied in this activity is in the form of a lecture via web seminar (webinar) via Zoom, followed by discussion and questions and answers. At the end of the session, participants were asked to provide feedback regarding the continuity of the seminar, which would then be analyzed and used as material for future improvements. The dissemination of material related to intelligent production scheduling in an all-digital industrial environment took place smoothly, demonstrated through active participation and interactive questions and answers. In the satisfaction survey, some information was obtained regarding the suitability of the theme to the participants' needs regarding the lectures taken, the accuracy of seminar time management, the mastery of the presenter in the discussion presented, and the suitability of the material to the participants' needs. From the analysis carried out, it was discovered that the theme raised was following the needs of the participants, and the timing of the seminar was also appropriate. Apart from that, it is also known that there has been an increase in webinar participants' knowledge regarding the topics raised. Abstract

Cikolelet Village is, as a tourist village, able to stimulate the economy of its residents. Many economic activities have grown due to the impact of many visitors to the village. Apart from natural tourism, many micro and household businesses support the circulation of economic and financial activities. Unfortunately, amidst the success of attracting tourists and increasing sales of locally produced goods, transaction payments are still conventional. This community service activity aims to introduce a digital payment system through QRIS to facilitate payments and increase sales. The service method is divided into three parts. They are planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Planning stage was done by the University LPPM team, from coordination with partners and collaboration between universities. The implementation phase by the member team consists of material presentations, discussions, questions, and answers, as well as direct practice in registering for QRIS. The evaluation stage was carried out to determine the level of interest of business actors in using QRIS. The result was that only around 34.6 percent of participants were interested and registered, while 65.4 percent were less concerned. Along with the era of technology and digitalization, people are required to be technologically literate in order to be able to compete. Services, both products and services as well as supporting facilities, must be improved to facilitate and increase mutual comfort.

Abstract

Serut Village, located in Panti Subdistrict, Jember Regency, is home to numerous highly potential Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including wood and bamboo crafts, stone crafts, aluminum works, mushroom cultivation, various local snacks, and palm sugar products. The primary issues faced by these MSME actors are weak business identity and lack of product branding. The distribution of products is conducted through middlemen, causing MSME products to be sold under the middlemen's brand rather than their own. The method of the activities were carried out through: 1) Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with MSME actors and village officials, 2) observations and documentation, 3) Compiling MSME business profiles through the creation of logos and profile videos. The objective are to rebrand MSMEs by focusing on aspects of local wisdom to build the identity of Serut Village MSMEs, enhance product competitiveness, and expand the distribution chain towards the global market. The results of the activities resulted in the mentoring of six MSMEs engaged in wood and bamboo crafts, stone crafts, aluminum works, mushroom cultivation, various local snacks, and palm sugar products. The business profile compilation yielded six MSME logos and profile videos, crafted based on local character and wisdom, thereby strengthening MSME branding in the global market. Hence, the conclusion is MSME actors have not yet understood the importance of product branding. The mentoring results provided MSME actors with the opportunity to market their products with their own branding.

Abstract

Cases of micropenis and hypospadias are like the tip of the iceberg, as many parents are yet to identify and be aware enough to have their child's abnormalities checked by a doctor. Micropenis and hypospadias abnormalities can be well managed if detected before puberty, but parents' long-term ignorance can lead to infertility, malignancy, and urinary dysfunction in their children. Education aims to increase parents' knowledge and awareness to detect genital abnormalities in boys, so they can be addressed as early as possible. So far, there is no data on micropenis cases, hypospadias cases, or the average penis length in elementary school students, thus genital examinations in elementary school students are crucial for screening and obtaining accurate data. Activity Method: Parents and teachers will be asked to take a pre-test, then attend education sessions on micropenis and hypospadias, followed by discussions and Q&A sessions. A post-test will be conducted to test the participants' understanding of the education. Participants who agree for their sons to undergo physical and genital examinations will be examined in the school health unit (UKS). Results: A total of 39 male students participated with an average age of 10.77 ± 1.05 years. Cases of phimosis were found in 3 individuals, buried penis in 5 individuals, high-placed testes in 2 individuals, and varicocele in 1 individual. No cases of micropenis or hypospadias were found. The average penis length was 6.76 ± 1.78 cm, the right testis volume was 4.10 ± 2.10 ml, and the left testis volume was 4.13 ± 2.19 ml. Conclusion: Although no cases of micropenis and hypospadias were found in students, other genital abnormalities such as phimosis, buried penis, high-placed testes, and varicocele were detected.
