Abstract

The characteristics of water quality play a role in choosing the ideal site for seaweed farming. Additionally, by using the proper cultivation techniques and methodologies, seaweed cultivation activities might be effective. Seaweed farming is often thought of as a relatively easy endeavor that can be done in any body of water. But seaweed requires several requirements. The study of water conditions in Rutong country is important in determining the location and the method should be appropriate and usable. The purpose of the activity is to provide knowledge and skills to the community on how to measure water quality parameters then for the initial development of seaweed cultivation businesses can offer seaweed cultivation methods.  This activity was carried out for 1 month in May 2022 in the village of Rutong with the involvement of the start-up team. There were nine participants. Participatory active method. Communities are actively involved in observation, sampling and discussion. The result is that the salinity value of the surface water in Rutong only reaches 28 ppt on average. This is strongly suspected to be due to the supply of fresh water through the river. While temperature and brightness are suitable for aquaculture activities. The solution was to shift aquaculture activities more towards the sea. Water temperature can be supportive for seaweed cultivation in Rutong country because seaweed can live in water temperatures of 27-28℃. Aquaculture activities can use the floating method with a type of longline -raft combination so that it can float in the water column. The conclusion was that the community was actively involved and skilled in seawater sampling,  measuring water quality can determine cultivation methods and cooperate in the design of rearing containers.

Abstract

Peripheral neuropathy is a disorder of peripheral nerve fibres secondary to various pathological processes such as diabetes mellitus, vitamin deficiencies or drugs such as chemotherapy regimen. Clinical symptoms include motor, sensory and autonomic disorders. Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy are susceptible to experiencing symptoms of peripheral neuropathy caused by anatomical changes (such as distal axonal degeneration) or physiological changes. So, the education of regarding peripheral neuropathy is needed in patients with chemotherapy. This community service activity was conducted in the Oncology Building at West Nusa Tenggara Province General Hospital. Implementing activities regarding education on peripheral nerve disorders due to chemotherapy drugs is carried out by providing pretests, educational materials, post-tests and discussions. In the pretest activity, many participants were still unaware of peripheral nerve disorders due to chemoteraphy side effects. In the post-test, the knowledge score was above average (100%) regarding peripheral nerve disorders due to chemoterapy side effects. This shows an increase in the understanding of the side effects of chemotherapy in oncology outpatients clinic at West Nusa Tenggara Province General Hospital

Abstract

Agricultural products are not always promising when through the relay sales system carried out by middlemen and low agricultural product prices. The use of digital marketing as a promotional medium makes it easier for sellers and buyers to make transactions, expand the reach of promotions, and help determine market needs effectively. Weak infrastructure and market information, small agricultural scale, lack of knowledge of business actors, and lack of good marketing policies are problems that cause inefficient marketing systems. Community service aims to enable women farmers who are members of KWT Riski Dinari to obtain effective digital marketing steps and strategies, introduction and development of applications that can be used for marketing in the digital world, so that the presence of applications can be an effective bridge in carrying out the digital marketing strategy of the KWT Riski Dinari organization. The method of implementing the activity was a workshop attended by mothers who are members of KWT Riski Dinari, the youth of Kulon hamlet, and the community. Activities carried out include material presentation, case examples, practice and evaluation.  The result of the MBKM Mandiri Fikomm Community Service UMBY activity in 2024 is that participants slowly understand the use of social media. In addition, participants can learn how social media functions, trends that are currently on the rise, and learn how it impacts both personally and professionally. Thus, the implementation method provides a good understanding and skills to workshop participants in gaining knowledge related to how to use social media as a bridge in their business. Through the right platform, the understanding of digitalization workshops obtained by participants, active communities, and quality content produced will be a benchmark for successful acquisition and utilization related to digitalization.

Abstract

BUMDes Dharma Pitaloka is a business entity owned by Curah Cottok village, Kapongan District, Situbondo Regency. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, BUMDes income has decreased from both transportation and educational tourism businesses called Cottok Innovations Park (CIP). This encouraged the management of BUMDes Dharma Pitaloka to diversify its business by establishing a new business unit, namely animal feed. This animal feed has as its main raw material shrimp heads which are waste from a shrimp export company located near the village of Curah Cottok. The aim of this activity to prepare for the establishment of this animal feed business unit at BUMDes Dharma Pitaloka. Preparing a business plan is one aspect that must be prepared by the animal feed business unit. The implementation method is mentoring carried out in 2 ways, namely: tutorials and independent activities. The tutorial was carried out using a zoom meeting and video tutorial on filling out the business model canvas. The independent activity is the preparation of a business plan using a canvas model by 2 BUMDes administrators. This mentoring activity produces an output, namely a business plan for the animal feed business unit. This canvas model business plan is apparently easy to understand for BUMDes administrators who will be in charge of the animal feed business unit. This concludes that this mentoring activity is quite effective because it can produce output. This canvas model business plan will be used by the management of BUMDes Dharma Pitaloka in carrying out operational activities of the poultry feed business unit.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the marine biological resources whose production is sustainable and environmentally friendly. Eucheuma cottonii is a seaweed that has high economic value as a carrageenan producer. West Seram Regency is one of the production centers of seaweed development in Maluku Province with a growing production value from 2005 which was 50.5 tonnes until 2009 production reached 681.8 tonnes, an area of use of 688 ha. One of the villages in West Seram Regency that plays a role in the contribution of seaweed cultivation and seaweed exports nationally is Nuruwe Village with the type of seaweed cultivated is E.cottonii. This activity aims to find out how the management of E. cottonii seaweed cultivation activities and what are the factors that determine the success of the cultivation group in Nuruwe Village, West Seram Regency. This activity was carried out in September 2023. The method of activities was carried out in the form of interviews with the head of the seaweed cultivation business group. The results of this activity showed that there was a reduction in the number of seaweed cultivation business groups from fourteen groups to four groups in 2021. The seaweed cultivation business group that still survives is the "Titapo" group. The cultivation method used is the floating raft method. The highest production peak of E. cottonii seaweed cultivation in 2009 (96 tonnes) was due to the attack of ice-ice disease and epiphytes as well as non-continuous seedlings. This activity concludes that seaweed diseases and seed availability are among the limiting factors that need attention to help increase seaweed production in Nuruwe village, West Seram district.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (AIOT) have been widely used by various activities, especially in the millennial generation. However, scientific technology has not been widely introduced in education. Additionally, schools experience a decline in student enrollment every year, so it is necessary to carry out innovative learning actions that can be introduced to the community through students. Innovation learning is demonstrated by providing coding lessons that students have never done before so that AIOT becomes part of the learning. Therefore, coding as a learning method is  introduced to junior students so they can get to know AIOT early. The method used is making a device called AIOT-kit with training to be able to directly monitor environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity. The Internet of Things was introduced, which uses ThinkSpeak as a dashboard for making observations. This device was made by students so that they could follow the process from making the AIOT-kit hardware and related coding to utilization. It is shown that AIOT-kit is not yet known to students, including how to code in it. AIOT is an urgent need to access developing related technology. This activity is part of the service team's efforts to make a positive contribution to the community and school environment. After carrying out this activity, there was a change in how students could make their own AIOT-kit devices while also coding. The school even received an award from the local government for the innovation activities carried out during that period.

Abstract

Knowledge Management (KM) is essential for organizations to remain competitive and innovative in today's rapidly evolving global landscape. Virtual Communities of Practice (VCoPs) have emerged as valuable platforms for knowledge sharing and collaboration among individuals with common professional interests. The purpose of this research is to analyze how knowledge develops in virtual communities of practice based on the SECI concept by Nonaka Takeuchi. The data comes from any scientific paper about the implementation of KM in VCoPs in several fields from 2017 until 2023. This research utilized a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on the PICOC methodology. This systematic literature review observes and identifies KM implementation through its knowledge conversion concept. The result show that Socialization process in virtual spaces are crucial for overcoming barriers like distance and time, allowing continuous knowledge sharing even outside regular working hours. Externalization process facilitate the sharing of relevant professional knowledge, including stories, concepts, videos, or images related to daily work experiences. In the Combination process, there are differences between one VCoP and another because it is influenced by the online/virtual media used. Internalization as sustainability of knowledge sharing processes, especially related to mentoring, varies across different VCoPs. The conclusion is while KM have become integral for VcoPs, challenges such as platform limitations and varying success in implementing knowledge sharing processes exist.

Abstract

Silvofishery is an aquaculture concept that is integrated with the mangrove ecosystem. The concept of silvofishery cultivation is an environmental conservation model combined with the use of an integrated fish cultivation model. This silvofishery concept is very good to be developed in coastal waters. The hope is that in the future there will be activities to develop field class programs for silvofishery cultivation with various empowerment topics. The aim of this service is to make efforts to increase understanding and insight for fish farmers in Degayu Village regarding the silvofishery cultivation system which is carried out using the field class concept.  The method used is community empowerment through practical education about silvofishery cultivation. Furthermore, in this practice, an impact analysis was also carried out by distributing participant response questionnaires. Next, the data from the questionnaire was analyzed descriptively. The results of the service showed that there was an increase in the ability and insight of fish farmers regarding silvofishery cultivation techniques by 40%, knowledge about feeding management by 80%, knowledge about water quality management by 40% and ability regarding feeding practices by 30%. This means that this silvofishery cultivation field class activity is very progressive in improving the quality of human resources for fish farmers. This silvofishery cultivation field class activity is also interesting enough to increase interest in aquaculture literacy for fish farmers. This cultivation field class model is highly recommended to always be carried out consistently as a form of knowledge transfer effort between practitioners (academics) and the program beneficiary audience. From this service activity it can be concluded that the service activity has had an impact on increasing understanding and insight for cultivators in the technical fields of silvofishery cultivation, feeding management, water quality management, and comprehensive technical feeding practices.
