Abstract

Parenting plays an important role in the mental health and development of children. Overprotective parenting is one of the parenting styles that has received great attention in mental health research, which is characterized by excessive supervision and protection of children. This article aims to examine overprotective parenting and how it can affect children's mental health. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. This method provides an in-depth understanding of a particular phenomenon or event, where in this study the researcher distributed a questionnaire as a tool to collect data. The results of this study indicate that 61.9% of children raised in an overprotective environment tend to have difficulty facing challenges, taking risks, and developing the social skills needed to succeed in life. In addition, they are more susceptible to mental health problems such as low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.

Abstract

This study examines how teachers' perceptions influence individuals' interest in choosing a profession as a teacher. The aim is to uncover the impact of these perceptions on the interest in becoming a teacher, with the expectation that the findings will provide new insights for teacher recruitment strategies in the future and enhance the quality of education. The results are expected to offer recommendations for designing teacher professional development programs and serve as a reference for future researchers in exploring other factors influencing interest in becoming a teacher. The research type used is quantitative research with the dependent variable being the interest in becoming a teacher, and the independent variable being teachers' perceptions. The population in this study consists of students from the Economic Education Department, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Medan, class of 2021. The sample in this study is 70 students. Due to the relatively small population size, a saturated sampling technique was used. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using simple regression. The findings of this study are expected to provide valuable insights into how teachers' perceptions impact students' career choices. By understanding these perceptions, education stakeholders can develop targeted strategies to improve teacher recruitment and retention. Moreover, the results could guide the creation of policies and programs aimed at improving the image of the teaching profession, thereby attracting more individuals to consider teaching as a viable and rewarding career. The study also has the potential to influence educational institutions and policymakers in designing more effective teacher professional development initiatives.

Abstract

Education plays a vital role in human life, continuing throughout an individual's lifetime, with character education serving as a critical focus in the learning process. This study investigates the role of teachers and schools in cultivating politeness among Grade IV students at SD Negeri Wates 2. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that teachers act as role models, instill politeness values, provide guidance, and enforce firm consequences when necessary. Meanwhile, schools support these efforts by educating parents, implementing character development programs, and fostering close collaboration among stakeholders. The study highlights the comprehensive approach required to develop politeness, combining the efforts of teachers, schools, and parents. This collaboration ensures a consistent and supportive environment for character building. The results emphasize the importance of integrating values-based education into daily school activities, aiming to shape students into individuals with strong, positive character traits. The impact of this research underscores the need for schools to prioritize character education as part of their holistic approach to student development. This study contributes to the discourse on character education by offering practical insights into strategies that effectively foster politeness among elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the attitudes of physical education teachers towards the inclusion of students with physical disabilities or physical disabilities in physical education learning programs in Elementary Schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The subjects of this study were physical education teachers in Gugus 1 Praya Tengah; as many as 5 Physical Education, Sports, and Health teachers were directly involved in this study, consisting of 4 men and one woman with an average teaching experience of 12.5 years. The object of this study is the implementation of physical education learning programs in elementary schools, which are incredibly inclusive services for people with physical disabilities. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observations, and documentation. The main instrument in this study was the interview guideline, while the additional instrument was the observation guideline. The research data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. Teachers argue that physical education classes are a good place for developing students with disabilities. They realize that students with disabilities can get the same opportunity to participate in physical education programs and develop social skills. Teachers recognize that the seminars or professional training provided are very lacking. This study has significant impacts in encouraging ongoing training for physical education educators to improve their ability to implement inclusive education and in the development of adaptive curricula that meet the needs of students with special needs. This study also emphasizes the importance of stronger collaboration between teachers, parents, and other stakeholders. In addition, the findings of this study open up opportunities for further research in creating adaptive physical education learning models that are appropriate to the local context and can be used as guidelines for more efficient inclusive education policies and practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of parental involvement on students' learning outcomes, the key factors supporting parental involvement, and the challenges faced by parents. This article employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. A total of 25 relevant articles were selected after undergoing a screening process based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research process includes gathering information, filtering relevant data, and analyzing the findings. The results indicate that parental involvement plays a crucial role. Supporting factors include the availability of quality time between parents and students, motivation and support provided to students, collaboration between parents and teachers, parents' educational background, family economic status, and the utilization of technology. The implications of these findings highlight the importance of fostering stronger parent-teacher partnerships to enhance student outcomes. Schools should consider implementing programs that educate parents on effective ways to support their children’s learning at home. Additionally, policymakers could prioritize providing resources and support systems for families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, enabling equitable access to tools and opportunities that facilitate parental involvement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk berupa buku elektronik (E-Book) untuk mata kuliah statistik pendidikan bagi mahasiswa program studi pendidikan guru sekolah dasar fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan Universitas Mataram. Data mengenai kelayakan dan kepraktisan penggunaan buku elektronik ini dilakukan secara kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil validitas diperoleh bahwa buku elektronik (E-Book) untuk mata kuliah statistik pendidikan dikategorikan valid dengan rata-rata V-Aiken adalah 1,20 serta buku elektronik (E-Book) untuk mata kuliah statistik pendidikan dikategorikan praktis dengan rerata total 3,44 atau 86%. Sehingga, buku elektronik (E-Book) untuk mata kuliah statistik pendidikan yang telah dikembangkan adalah valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah statistik pendidikan di program studi pendidikan guru sekolah dasar fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan universitas mataram.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to improve students' writing skills by using the Wattpad application. The population for this study was the tenth grade of MAN 19, correspondingly in Jakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method. This research sample used one experimental group in the X MIA 3 class. Interview were used as instruments for collecting data. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten of the thirty selected students to figure out participant responses during treatment after the pre-test. This showed that after utilizing Wattpad, students are more motivated and have an impact on their skills to generate ideas on writing text such as narrative and descriptive text. In addition, the students’ feedback about the implementation of the use of Wattpad, assisted by collaborative techniques in teaching writing, was positive. The collaborative technique proved that the students are engaged in the learning process; they collaborate and teach each other to create their writing. Based on the findings, this study concludes that Wattpad is an effective medium for improving students' writing skills.

Abstract

This study aim to (1) identify students' critical thinking skills; (2) to identify differences in students' critical thinking skills; (3) to identify students' responses to the mind mapping learning model based on higher order thinking skills . Research This implemented at SDN 4 Singkawang . The data collection technique in this study used test and non- test techniques. that is in the form of a critical thinking ability test sheet for students and a student response questionnaire technique. The data analysis techniques used are Prerequisite Test, Hypothesis Test and N Gain . Based on results of hypothesis testing and two -sample t-test can known difference ability think critical students in class experiments and classes control . From the t-test shows t count > t table that is 4,322 > 2,024. Statement on can concluded that There are differences in the critical thinking abilities of students who are given the Mind Mapping learning model. based on Higher Order Thinking Skills and direct models on human and environmental material in class V of SD N 4 Singkawang. From the test data the improvement ability think critical students in class experiment with implementing learning models mind mapping experiencing improvement ability think critical students . Improvement the shown with N-gain acquisition of 0.64 with criteria in and out of class control with implementing learning models direct obtained an N-gain of 0.27 with criteria low . So by using the mind learning model mapping based on Higher Order Thinking Skills increased. Response students towards the mind learning model mapping based on Higher Order Thinking Skills of 80.93 in the very good criteria.

Abstract

In this modern era, the world's population is now faced with the need to balance technological advances with knowledge, this is reflected in the development and improvement of technical abilities and skills of today's humans through the development of technology that continues to grow. One form of its implementation in the world of education is the use of application-based learning media. The use of application-based learning media is used to improve students' abilities, one of which is the ability to think critically mathematically. This study aims to determine the use of application-based learning media to measure mathematical critical thinking skills. The method used in this study is SLR (Systematic Literature Review) where researchers collect articles related to the use of learning applications to measure critical thinking skills with a publication period of 2020-2023. Based on this study, it was found; 1) applications as learning media have definitions, objectives, important roles in the field of education, and 2) there is a significant influence in the use of applications on students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Power different question is ability question for show difference students who master material with students who have not in its entirety control material said. Analysis Power different question can help measure effectiveness question in differentiate ability students, improve quality assessment, and support development quality test. Research​ This aiming for analyze Power different question test mathematics at SDN 136 Pekanbaru so that it can determine question test that has Power differentiator positive to stay effectively used in assessment next. Method research used​ is approach quantitative with technique documentation data collection, in the form of sheet answer students on the test eye lesson mathematics in Fourth Grades of elementary school. Research results This show that: question test Mathematics in Fourth Grades at SDN 136 Pekanbaru in the year 2023/2024 academic year from a total of 25 questions as many as 9 questions (36%) are of poor quality Well, as many as 7 questions (28 %) were of sufficient quality and as many as 9 questions (36 %) were of good quality. Based on Power different question test Mathematics in class IV SDN 136 Pekanbaru 9 quality questions Good can used back on test next and 11 questions quality enough and less Good must revised moreover formerly If want to be used in the test next so that the quality Power different question own Power different positive and steady effective used.
