Abstract

First-year medical students adapt to hybrid education, combining online and offline learning in the new standard era. The various features of e-learning need to accommodate students' skills in self-regulated learning and their preferences, such as learning style preference. Therefore, this research aims to analyze first-year medical students' self-regulated learning skills and learning style preferences in online learning to identify e-learning optimization needs that can facilitate their adaptation to medical education. A descriptive quantitative and qualitative narrative method was conducted through document analysis. The Online Self-Regulated Learning Questions (OSRLQs) were used to obtain quantitative descriptive data on students' self-regulated learning skills, and the learning style preference questionnaire was used to obtain data on first-year medical students. The results showed that first-year medical students require optimization in four domains of the self-regulated learning skills in online learning, including task strategies, time management, help-seeking, and self-evaluation. The analysis yielded 19 categories with three main learning style preferences: a combination of visual and auditory and a combination of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. This analysis recommends optimizing several e-learning features to improve first-year medical students' self-regulated learning skills and learning style preferences.

Abstract

This study aims to design, develop, and evaluate website-based Javanese language learning media that are designed innovatively, interactively, and easily accessible to students and teachers. Another objective is to ensure that this learning media is in accordance with user needs and supports an effective learning process. The type of research used is research and development (R&D) based on the theory put forward by Sugiono, which includes systematic steps in designing and testing learning products. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires distributed to students and teachers to identify their needs, where the results were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. Product validation was carried out by several parties, including students as the primary users, media validators to assess the quality of design and interactivity, and material validators to assess the accuracy of learning content. Based on the validation results, media experts and material experts assessed this product as "very feasible" to use in learning. In addition, the results of the trial conducted on students provided positive feedback by stating that this learning media was also "very feasible". Thus, this website-based learning media is useful for improving students' listening skills, especially in the wayang story material in Javanese language subjects.

Abstract

Meditation is one of the habits at SD Experimental Mangunan that aims to form character in children. Often, classroom learning problems are related to the focus of learning. The solution for children less focused on learning is to prepare them with meditation. This study aims to determine the effect of positive affirmation meditation on the learning focus of 1st graders at SD Experimental Mangunan. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative—data collection techniques using interviews and observation. The results of the study show that 1) positive affirmation meditation has an effect on children's learning focus, as shown by obedient children doing meditation to be calmer, and this makes children conditioned and more focused on learning, and 2) differences in obedient children in participating in meditation with those who are disobedient in participating in meditation can be seen when in class children who are obedient in meditation are more focused and not easily distracted by the situation around them, while children who are not focused during meditation tend to be more easily agitated and easily distracted by the situation around them which makes it difficult for the child to focus on studying.

Abstract

The crisis challenges experienced by the Tolitoli language cannot be separated from the cultural and linguistic acculturation process in the Tolitoli Regency. This study assesses how effective visual learning media improves Tolitoli's language skills in IPAS lessons at SDN 1 Nalu. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Involves observation, interviews, and listening guides with participants consisting of class IV student guardians and class IV students. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Nalu. The results showed that the use of visual media based on local wisdom of Tolitoli local language in IPAS lessons had a positive impact, such as increasing appreciation for local culture, effective use in learning, and student's understanding of the material increased because learning was presented concretely so that students did not just fantasize in the classroom but could see a picture of the material being explained. Therefore, to support the preservation of Tolitoli language culture among students, using visual media is very effective so that it can be applied to other lessons.

Abstract

This study examines implementing a toilet training program using the child-oriented Brazelton method at TKIT Ar-Rahman 1. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, five children aged 5-6 years participated as research subjects. Data were gathered through non-participant observation and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings underscore the effectiveness of the Brazelton method in enhancing children's independence in toilet use by focusing on readiness and gradual development. This approach prioritizes children's comfort and emotional safety, enabling tailored interventions that respect their developmental trajectories. Teachers played a pivotal role by offering consistent guidance supported by visual and verbal aids, while parental involvement strengthened the outcomes. The holistic nature of the Brazelton method, including its emphasis on collaboration and physiological readiness, addresses individual challenges effectively. This study provides practical recommendations for adopting the Brazelton method across diverse educational settings, promoting a balance between developmental support and structured training. The results improve child independence, foster self-regulation, and create a more efficient learning environment.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of using Augmented Reality (AR) on improving students' higher-order thinking Skills (HOTS) in the Solar System material at a high school in Surabaya. HOTS includes critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills essential in 21st-century learning. The study uses a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Tenth-grade students were selected through purposive sampling and were given multiple-choice tests before and after the AR-based learning intervention to measure their improvement in HOTS. The results show a significant increase in students' HOTS, with an N-gain score of 0.58, which falls into the moderate category. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, indicating that AR effectively enhances students' ability to analyze, solve problems, and express their thoughts more clearly and systematically. These findings imply that the application of AR in learning can support an outcome-based education approach. Integrating AR into the curriculum is expected to improve the quality of learning, support the achievement of educational goals, and develop students' critical thinking skills for their future.
