Abstract

Marriage Guidance (Bimbingan Perkawinan or BIMWIN) is a preventive program initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs to equip prospective couples with the knowledge and skills needed to build a harmonious (sakinah) family. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and challenges of BIMWIN materials at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Tamansari District, Bogor Regency. The research employed a qualitative case study approach using in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the BIMWIN materials are based on the Fondasi Keluarga Sakinah handbook and are delivered by certified facilitators. However, the effectiveness of the program is constrained by limited time, facilities, funding, and participant engagement. In addition, the materials have not fully addressed contemporary issues, such as premarital mental readiness, family digital literacy, cyber infidelity, digital parenting, and dual-career families. Therefore, BIMWIN requires continuous improvement through the enrichment of its materials, the adoption of more participatory learning methods, and stronger institutional support to enhance its role in strengthening family resilience.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to develop Educaplay-based interactive learning resources on everyday norms for fifth-grade students at SDN Banjarsawah 1 and evaluate their effectiveness, validity, and usefulness. The development of this learning resource was motivated by the need for instructional resources that might help students understand abstract concepts of commonplace standards through engaging, interactive, and contextual learning activities. The research and development (R&D) technique for this study followed the five steps of the ADDIE model: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluationThe study's subjects were fifth-grade students from SDN Banjarsawah 1. Among the instruments used to collect data were learning outcome evaluations, teacher and student response questionnaires, media expert validation sheets, and material expert validation sheets. The results show that the Educaplay-based interactive learning materials were rated as extremely valid with a media expert validation score of 96.88% and as valid with a material expert validation score of 87.50%. A very valid category was indicated by the average product validation score of 92.19%. With a score of 93.75%, teacher replies were classified as extremely practical. In the meantime, the effectiveness test revealed a 92% student learning mastery percentage, which was classified as extremely effective. These results show that using the created Educaplay-based interactive learning materials to teach Pancasila Education about everyday norms is viable. In summary, the Educaplay-based interactive learning materials created for this study satisfied the requirements of being highly effective, highly practical, and highly valid. As a result, it might be utilised as a substitute teaching tool to help educators and learners comprehend social standards in a more interesting, participatory, and significant method.

Abstract

Low reading interest in elementary schools is a major challenge in efforts to improve the quality of national literacy. At Nania Christian Elementary School, the phenomenon of low student interest in books requires addressing through a structured program. This study indicates that low reading interest was previously triggered by a reliance on rigid textbooks. As a solution, the literacy program at Nania Christian Elementary School now integrates local literature, such as Maluku folktales, illustrated Bible stories, and contextualized general knowledge for students. This study aims to strengthen the reading interest and skills of Nania Christian Elementary School students. The method used was a descriptive qualitative case study design. The research participants included 22 students at Nania Christian Elementary School. Data were collected through direct observation techniques to record teacher and student actions during the literacy process. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively with reference to classroom action theory. The results of this research confirm that the availability of access, a comfortable atmosphere, and real-life examples (role models) are key to building reading interest. The literacy program is effective in increasing reading interest in Nania Christian Elementary School students, where active involvement between teachers and students creates a more literate and enjoyable learning ecosystem

Abstract

The thrifting phenomenon is growing rapidly among the younger generation as part of a lifestyle perceived as more economical and environmentally friendly. From a sustainable fashion perspective, the use of secondhand clothing is seen as reducing textile waste and supporting more sustainable consumption. However, on the other hand, the thrifting trend also has the potential to shift into consumer behavior if driven by a desire to follow fashion, thus contradicting the principle of israf (excess) in Islamic teachings. This study aims to analyze thrifting practices among urban female students (santriwati) through an Islamic ecotheological perspective by examining the relationship between the concept of israf, environmental ethics, and consumption behavior. This research used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with urban female students who actively thrift, observations of their consumption activities and social media use, and relevant documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of this study indicate that female Islamic students (Islamic students) perceive thrifting not only as an alternative to obtaining affordable clothing but also as a form of environmental awareness through the reuse of fashion products. However, some informants demonstrated a tendency to overpurchase clothing due to social media trends, discounts, and the desire to follow certain clothing styles. This situation indicates a shift from sustainability-oriented consumption to israf behavior. The Islamic ecotheological perspective emphasizes that utilizing used goods can be a valuable practice of worship if it is based on the principles of simplicity (wasatiyyah), responsibility as a caliph on earth, and concern for environmental sustainability. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening Islamic consumption ethics as part of ecological character education for female Islamic students in the digital culture era.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the current condition of second-grade elementary school students’ early reading skills before the implementation of the instructional media, analyze differences in the improvement of early reading skills between students who used AI-based illustrated word card media and those who received conventional instruction, and determine the magnitude of the media’s impact. This study was motivated by students’ varied and suboptimal early reading skills, as indicated by difficulties in recognizing and distinguishing letters and reading syllables, words, simple sentences, and short texts. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants consisted of 56 second-grade students at SDN Pasawahan Kidul, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received instruction using AI-based illustrated word card media, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected through an oral reading test that assessed students’ skills in reading letters, syllables, words, simple sentences, and short texts. The results showed that the initial early reading skills of students in both groups were varied and had not yet reached an optimal level. There was a significant difference in improvement between the two groups, with the experimental group showing greater improvement than the control group. The use of AI-based illustrated word card media also had a large effect on improving students’ early reading skills. Therefore, the media can be used as an engaging, adaptable, and interactive instructional alternative in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the development process, (2) determine the validity, and (3) determine the practicality of a makrame-bag-making tutorial video for the Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship subject among eleventh-grade Fashion Design and Production students at SMK Negeri 1 Bungo. The problem addressed is that the video tutorials teachers currently use are general, not designed according to the curriculum and lesson plan, and do not present the knot-tying steps in a detailed and systematic manner, so students still struggle to follow the practice independently. This research and development (R&D) study adapted the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) by Thiagarajan, limited to the Define, Design, and Develop stages. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and validation and practicality questionnaires administered to media, material, and language experts, one subject teacher, and students in small- and large-group trials. The results show that the developed video tutorial obtained an average validity score of 95% (Very Valid), consisting of 97% from the media expert, 91% from the material expert, and 97% from the language expert. The practicality test results reached 98% from the teacher, 89% from the small-group trial, and 91% from the large-group trial, all in the Very Practical category. These findings indicate that the video tutorial is valid and practical for use as a learning medium in the Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship subject.

Abstract

Environmental problems in Indonesia, including those in Kebun Kenanga Urban Village, Ratu Agung District, Bengkulu City, remain a serious concern, reflected in the persistent practice of indiscriminate waste disposal, low community participation in cleanliness activities, and suboptimal community-based waste management. Although the local government has introduced various environmental education programs, public ecological awareness remains relatively low. This study aims to describe the role of government education in environment-based community empowerment, to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation from the perspective of Social Studies Education, and to analyze the forms of community awareness resulting from such educational efforts. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with the researcher acting as the primary instrument and participant observer at the research site. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings show that government education in Kebun Kenanga has been implemented through cleanliness socialization, counseling, and waste-bank programs, supported by the commitment of village officials, the availability of facilities, and the involvement of community leaders, but constrained by limited public literacy, budget limitations, and entrenched habits. These efforts have gradually fostered community understanding, caring attitudes, behavioral change, and collective independence in environmental management, reflecting the internalization of Social Studies education values such as mutual cooperation and social responsibility
