Abstract

Social relations between business owners and fish cage workers constitute an important aspect of sustaining aquaculture activities, particularly in coastal communities where employment relationships are strongly characterized by trust and mutual dependence. This study aims to describe the social relations between fish cage business owners and workers in Mantang Besar Village, Mantang District, Bintan Regency. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted in Mantang Besar Village. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique, involving two key informants who were chosen based on their direct involvement and comprehensive understanding of fish cage aquaculture activities. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation and were analyzed using the interactive analysis model proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the social relationship between business owners and fish cage workers is established through continuous interactions and is predominantly characterized by cooperation based on mutual dependence. Business owners serve as providers of capital, production facilities, and decision-making authority, whereas workers contribute labor and technical skills in fish farming activities. Despite this reciprocal relationship, workers remain economically dependent on business owners due to unequal control over resources. Conflicts occur infrequently and are generally resolved through communication and deliberation. From Georg Simmel's perspective on social relations, the relationship between business owners and fish cage workers is dynamic, reflecting cooperation, domination, dependency, solidarity, and continuous adaptation to changing economic and social conditions within coastal communities.

Abstract

Interactive digital learning media are essential for supporting effective learning and improving student outcomes. This study aimed to develop a Heyzine-based flipbook learning media for the Facilities and Infrastructure subject in Vocational High Schools (SMK), and to evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), the study involved eleventh-grade students in the Office Management and Business Services (MPLB) program at SMKS Tirta Sari Surya. Data were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis for validity and practicality, while Normalized Gain (N-Gain) analysis measured effectiveness via pre-test and post-test scores. The developed flipbook integrates learning materials, instructional videos, QR codes, educational games, summaries, and practice exercises. Expert validation results demonstrated high validity, with scores of 96.88% from the subject matter expert, 97.22% from the media expert, and 96.88% from the instructional design expert. Practicality tests yielded high ratings of 95.08% in one-to-one evaluation and 98.64% in small-group evaluation. Effectiveness testing showed a significant increase in average student scores from 74.38 to 89.50, with an N-Gain score of 0.59 (moderate effectiveness). These findings confirm that the Heyzine-based flipbook is a valid, practical, and effective digital resource for enhancing student learning outcomes. Future research is recommended to evaluate the media across larger samples, broader topics, and different educational levels.

Abstract

Bullying remains one of the major challenges in elementary-level Islamic schools because it negatively affects students' psychological well-being, social relationships, and character development. This study aimed to analyze the forms of bullying occurring at MIN 2 Pasuruan and to examine teachers' efforts in preventing bullying through Aqidah Akhlak learning. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that bullying at MIN 2 Pasuruan consisted of verbal bullying, physical bullying, and social (relational) bullying, with verbal bullying occurring most frequently. Preventive efforts carried out by teachers included integrating moral values into Aqidah Akhlak instruction, habituating students to positive behavior, providing advice and character guidance, establishing classroom agreements, implementing educational sanctions, collaborating with parents and school stakeholders, and strengthening school policies through the Child-Friendly School Program and anti-bullying campaigns. The study concludes that Aqidah Akhlak learning plays a strategic role in preventing bullying by fostering students' moral awareness, empathy, and social responsibility, thereby supporting the creation of a safe and conducive learning environment.

Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to design learning plans, generate learning materials, support learning interactions, and provide feedback. These developments not only raise questions regarding the effectiveness of the technology, but also alter the distribution of authority in pedagogical decision-making. This article aims to analyse how pedagogical control is distributed between teachers and generative artificial intelligence during the planning, implementation, and assessment stages of learning. The research employs a critical-integrative literature review of 28 substantive publications from the period 2023–2026. Two methodological frameworks were used to guide the synthesis process, whilst one policy document was utilised to strengthen the analysis of teachers’ agency. The literature data were analysed through thematic coding, cross-source comparison, and critical interpretation of the technology’s functions, teachers’ authority, and the risks of delegating decision-making. The findings indicate that generative artificial intelligence is best suited to carrying out limited and revisable operational control, such as generating design alternatives, modifying materials, simulating interactions, and compiling initial feedback. Conversely, teachers must retain control over strategic, contextual, relational, evaluative and ethical aspects. Uncontrolled delegation may result in curricular misalignment, factual errors, homogenisation of learning, a reduction in pedagogical relationships and a blurring of accountability. This article proposes the concept of ‘asymmetric distribution of pedagogical control’, namely a division of functions that utilises the generative capacity of AI without equating the machine’s authority with the teacher’s professional responsibility. The findings confirm that the quality of AI integration is not determined by the extent of automation, but rather by the clarity of delegation boundaries, validation mechanisms, and the sustainability of teacher agency.

Abstract

Vocational education in Vocational High Schools (SMK) requires adequate practical facilities, especially in procedural and contextual Office Communication materials. The lack of interactive media utilization causes students to experience difficulties in internalizing professional communication operational standards. Therefore, this study aims to develop Unity-based interactive learning media in the form of a 2D Visual Novel simulation with a gamification approach, and to analyze its validity and practicality as a learning support media without measuring learning outcome effectiveness. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method through the Successive Approximation Model (SAM) approach, which consists of the preparation phase, iterative design phase, and iterative development phase. The unit of analysis in this study involved three expert validators (material, media, and instructional design) and a total of 45 11th-grade Office Administration students, gradually divided into one-to-one, small group, and field trials. Data collection techniques used Likert scale questionnaires, which were then analyzed using quantitative percentages. The validation results obtained the Highly Valid category from the material expert (94.44%), instructional design expert (80.00%), and media expert (76.67%). In the user formative evaluation stage, the small group trial obtained a score of 84.33% (Highly Practical) and the field trial obtained a score of 87.60% (Highly Practical). Students gave positive responses to the media's appeal because it presents branching dialogue and immediate feedback features that suit the Generation Z learning style. Research recommendations are addressed to schools to optimize Wi-Fi network facilities, to the department to integrate this media as practical variations, and to further researchers to conduct effectiveness tests, AI chatbot integration, Virtual Reality (VR) technology development, and collaborative multiplayer features.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of 3A grade students at SDN Ciketing Udik 2, as shown by only 8 (32%) students reaching the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) on multiplication and division operations material. This low achievement was influenced by students' lack of interest, disparities in understanding among students, and the limited variety of learning models used by the teacher. This research aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model based on peer tutoring. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), carried out over two cycles with the stages of pre-cycle, planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 25 students of class 3A at SDN Ciketing Udik 2 in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through teacher observation techniques and students' cognitive learning outcome tests in the form of questions, with a success indicator of 85%. The results of the research showed an improvement in each cycle. In cycle 1, 21 students (84%) reached the KKM with a class average score of 80, increasing in cycle 2 to 24 students (96%) reaching the KKM with an average of 90. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model based on peer tutoring was effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes in multiplication and division material by 64% in class 3A at SDN Ciketing Udik 2.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of elementary school students to understand mathematical concepts. One alternative learning model that can be applied to address this issue is the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model. This study aims to determine the effect of the TGT learning model on students' mathematical concept understanding. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design was employed. The research subjects consisted of 40 third-grade students from SDN Indragiri 2, divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, Independent Sample t-test, N-Gain, and Effect Size. The results indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The Independent Sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. The experimental group's average N-Gain score (61.49) was higher than that of the control group (38.61). The Effect Size analysis also demonstrated a strong influence of the TGT model. Therefore, the TGT model is effective as an alternative learning approach to enhance elementary students' mathematical concept understanding.
