Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with a deep learning approach on the understanding of local wisdom of Grade IV elementary school students. This research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group design type. The subjects consisted of 29 students of Grade IV SDN 3 Jombok as the experimental class and 23 students of Grade IV SDN 1 Tanggaran as the control class. The data collection instrument was a multiple-choice written test (pre-test and post-test) referring to six comprehension indicators according to Anderson & Krathwohl (2001): interpreting, exemplifying, classifying, inferring, comparing, and explaining. Data analysis used the Independent Samples T-Test with SPSS 25.0. The results showed that the average post-test of the experimental class was 75.34, higher than the control class of 62.83. Based on the Independent Samples T-Test, a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05 was obtained, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This means there is a significant effect of the Problem Based Learning model with a deep learning approach on the understanding of local wisdom of Grade IV elementary school students. The research instrument was declared reliable with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.898 (very high category), and all data were proven to be normally distributed and homogeneous.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze teachers' difficulties in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at the UPTD SD Inpres Matap and to identify the factors hindering teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at the UPTD SD Inpres Matap. The focus of the study was teachers' difficulties in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at the UPTD SD Inpres Matap. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects were homeroom teachers of grades I, II, III, V, and VI at the UPTD SD Inpres Matap. The researchers used five indicators to conduct the study, including understanding the merdeka Curriculum, teaching materials, facilities and infrastructure, learning implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that teachers still experience difficulties in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. These difficulties include difficulty in compiling teaching modules, reducing CP to TP, adapting learning to student characteristics, limited facilities and infrastructure, a lack of learning resources, and limited use of learning technology. Furthermore, the implementation of authentic assessment, projects, and portfolios has not been fully optimized, especially in lower grades. To overcome these obstacles, teachers collaborate, discuss, exchange ideas, and utilize facilities and the surrounding environment as learning resources. Therefore, support is needed in the form of training, mentoring, additional facilities and infrastructure, and increased teacher understanding so that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum can be more effective and tailored to student needs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the representation of filial piety (孝, xiào) values in language politeness strategies in the film How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies. The study is motivated by the importance of understanding how language use in film media represents cultural values, particularly respect, care, and responsibility toward parents within family relationships. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, using dialogues among characters containing language politeness strategies and filial piety values as the data source. Data were collected through observation and note-taking techniques, while data analysis applied Brown and Levinson’s (1987) politeness strategy theory. The findings reveal that all politeness strategies proposed by Brown and Levinson are represented in the film, namely positive politeness, negative politeness, bald on record, and off record. Positive politeness emerges as the most dominant strategy, reflecting attention, respect, and emotional closeness within family relationships. Negative politeness demonstrates concern for parents’ emotional well-being, bald on record is used to express responsibility firmly, while off record indicates that the practice of filial piety may also be influenced by personal interests and economic factors. The study identifies three main forms of filial piety values, namely respect, affection, and responsibility toward parents, indicating that language politeness functions as a representation of cultural values in modern family life.

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious health problem in Lueng Bata District, Banda Aceh, as it impacts children's physical growth, cognitive abilities, and social development. This condition is influenced by the village government's concern in implementing prevention programs, as well as the family's economic capacity to meet children's nutritional needs. This study aims to determine the village government's concern, the socioeconomic conditions of families, and the obstacles in addressing stunting in children in Lueng Bata District, Banda Aceh. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with research subjects including two village government officials, four parents of stunted children, and two village health workers. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation in Cot Mesjid Village and Blang Cut Village. Data analysis techniques through reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that the village government has made efforts through coordination with the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) and the Health Office, stunting discussions, as well as the provision of PMT (Food and Nutritional Supplements), milk, MBG (Based Nutrition Supplements), and support from Posyandu cadres. From an economic perspective, income, assets, housing facilities, and government assistance influence a family's ability to meet children's nutritional needs. However, stunting management remains hampered by socioeconomic limitations, suboptimal height/age monitoring, low parental attendance and commitment, and children's difficulty eating. This study concludes that stunting management requires synergy between village governments, families, and communities to be more effective and sustainable.

Abstract

Digital transformation has significantly changed the educational landscape and requires teachers to possess competencies that align with technological advancements. From the perspective of educational human resource management, teacher competency development is considered a strategic effort to enhance teacher quality and improve overall educational performance. This article aims to analyze strategies for developing teacher competencies in response to digital transformation and their implications for improving the quality of educational human resources. This study employed a qualitative approach using a literature review method. The data were collected from scientific journal articles, books, international organizational reports, and educational policy documents, focusing on publications from 2023–2025. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis through the processes of identification, classification, interpretation, and synthesis of relevant research findings. The results indicate that teacher competency development should be implemented continuously through needs-based training, continuous professional development, professional learning communities, coaching, mentoring, and strong instructional leadership from school principals. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including unequal digital infrastructure, varying levels of teachers’ digital literacy, and unequal access to professional development programs. Therefore, integrated and sustainable educational human resource management policies are essential to strengthen teacher competencies, improve the quality of educational human resources, and enhance learning quality in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

Long division is one of the essential mathematics topics that elementary school students need to master because it serves as a foundation for learning mathematical concepts at higher levels. However, various errors are still found in students' work when solving long division problems. This study aimed to describe and identify the types of errors made by third-grade students of SD Negeri Pertiwi Lamgarot, Aceh Besar Regency, in solving long division problems. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of 20 third-grade students. Data were collected through a written test consisting of 15 essay questions in the form of word problems on long division. Data were analyzed using Newman's Error Analysis, which includes reading errors, comprehension errors, transformation errors, process skill errors, and encoding errors. The results showed that students still made various errors in solving long division problems. Comprehension errors were made by 12 students (60%), transformation errors by 14 students (70%), process skill errors by 20 students (100%), and encoding errors by 19 students (95%), while no reading errors were found. The most dominant error was the process skill error. Therefore, it can be concluded that students still experienced difficulties in carrying out long division procedures accurately.

Abstract

This article examines online gambling in the perspective of Islamic law and its impact on household harmony, with a case study of divorce caused by slot gambling addiction in Bogor Regency. The study uses a qualitative literature review approach by analyzing the Qur’an, Hadith, classical and contemporary fiqh sources, and relevant academic literature. The findings show that online gambling is classified as maysir, which is strictly prohibited in Islam because it involves speculation, uncertainty, and brings about social and moral harm. In the case analyzed, the husband’s gambling addiction caused severe financial loss, misuse of the wife’s identity for online loans, and the breakdown of family trust. From the perspective of Islamic law, the wife’s divorce petition is justified because the marriage has produced clear harm, including neglect of financial obligations, deception, and damage to family well-being. Therefore, Islam offers a holistic solution through spiritual strengthening, family communication, community guidance, and legal protection.
