Abstract

This study aims to investigate the learning process using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in relation to the creative thinking abilities of fifth-grade students on the topic of plane area. The research employed a Sequential Mixed Method with a Sequential Exploratory design. The subjects of this study were 24 fifth-grade students from SD N Panggung. Data collection instruments included an observation checklist, interview guidelines, test sheets, and a camera for documentation. The qualitative data were analyzed through four stages: data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. Quantitative data were analyzed using normality tests and t-tests. The results showed that during the "fundamental question" phase of PjBL syntax, students were highly enthusiastic in responding to questions. However, in the "monitoring project activity and development" phase, many groups still faced difficulties in transforming plane shapes into creative works. After the implementation of the PjBL model, there was a significant improvement in students’ creative thinking skills, as evidenced by a t-test with a significance value of 0.000. The Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05 indicates that the null hypothesis (H?) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H?) is accepted. Furthermore, the analysis of the application of the PjBL model in terms of creative thinking skills in the topic of plane area shows that before the implementation, there was 1 student in the “very creative” category, 11 in the “creative” category, and 12 in the “moderately creative” category. After the implementation, 14 students were categorized as “very creative” and 10 as “creative.”

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to improve students’ conceptual understanding in the IPAS learning process for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Tembong 2. The research used a quantitative method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 48 fifth-grade students. The data collection technique involved tests, including a pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed using N-Gain scores. The results showed that the improvement in students’ conceptual understanding after the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model was evident from the N-Gain score in the experimental class, which was 0.72—classified as high. This was better than the students in the control class who received conventional learning, with an N-Gain score of 0.31—classified as moderate.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of scientific literacy in science learning. A qualitative approach was used, with the research subjects being a fourth-grade teacher and students at SD Negeri Karangtengah 3. This approach was chosen because the data collected were in the form of a case study, specifically the implementation of scientific literacy. The research employed three instruments: interviews, documentation, and observation, with data analyzed using an interactive analysis technique. The conclusions of this study are: (1) scientific literacy helps students understand scientific concepts more effectively, making them more interested in learning science; (2) teachers play a crucial role in the application of scientific literacy, as they serve as the main facilitators who can guide, direct, and support students in understanding and applying scientific concepts; and (3) the impact of implementing scientific literacy on learning interest can be observed through several aspects, including improved comprehension, critical thinking skills, and relevance to everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning interest by using Audio-Visual Media Based on Ethnoscience for fourth-grade students at SD Inpres Perumnas Antang III. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a classroom action research design. Data collection techniques include observation and documentation, following a sequence of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 22 third-grade students of UPT SPF SD Inpres Perumnas Antang III. The results showed that teacher activity observations in Cycle I scored 2.0, categorized as fair, and in Cycle II increased to 2.8, categorized as good. Meanwhile, student activity observations in Cycle I scored 2.0 (fair category) and in Cycle II improved to 3.5 (good category). Students’ learning interest in Cycle I was in the fair category, while in Cycle II, it reached the good category. It can thus be concluded that there was an improvement in students’ learning interest after using ethnoscience-based audio-visual media.

Abstract

Cognitive development plays an important role in the learning process of school-aged children, especially during the elementary school years when cognitive growth is most rapid. One aspect of cognitive development is language ability, which includes four language skills, one of which is writing. Writing skills are crucial in language learning, such as in the Javanese language. Writing Javanese script requires advanced writing skills. However, a lack of student interest in learning to write Javanese script has been observed. The purpose of this study is to explore the typology of elementary students' writing skills in Javanese script based on Bruner’s cognitive development theory. This research uses a descriptive qualitative narrative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique involved data reduction, data presentation, verification, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was ensured using source triangulation. The research subjects were children aged 9–12 years. The object of the study was the writing of Javanese script by children within the framework of Bruner’s cognitive development theory. The results showed that children’s Javanese script writing skills follow the three cognitive learning processes outlined in Bruner’s theory: information acquisition, information transformation, and evaluation.

Abstract

A nation can be considered advanced if it has competent human resources in their respective fields. To achieve this, quality education is required. The school principal, teachers, and all related parties play a vital role in realizing education that can adapt to changes. This study aims to analyze the role of the driving school principal in creating a conducive, productive, and innovative work environment at UPT Satuan Pendidikan SDN Sapulante Pasrepan. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to identify patterns and trends from the quantitative data, as well as thematic analysis for the qualitative data obtained from interviews and observations. The results show that the driving school principal plays a role as a visionary leader, motivator, manager, and role model. As a result, this has led to an increase in collaboration among teachers and educational staff, a more harmonious work atmosphere, and higher work motivation. However, the study also identifies some challenges and obstacles, such as limitations in facilities and infrastructure, differences in the competencies of school members, and resistance to change. This study concludes that the driving school principal plays a significant role in creating a conducive work environment, which ultimately supports the improvement of educational quality in the school.

Abstract

Indonesia is a diverse nation with a wide range of cultural traditions, one of which is oral literature in the form of mantras practiced by the Dayak Desa community in Ensaid Panjang. These mantras, recited by traditional healers (dukun), are believed to have the power to cure illnesses. The healing process is still carried out traditionally, utilizing natural plants from the environment. This study focuses on a specific healing mantra used to treat eye ailments in children aged 3 to 4 years. The main problem explored in this research is: What is the linguistic structure of the healing mantras used by the Dayak Desa community in Ensaid Panjang? The purpose of this study is to analyze the linguistic style, meaning, and contextual use of the mantra. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, using a structural semiotic approach. The respondent in this study was a traditional healer. Data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and audio recordings. The findings show that the linguistic style used in the healing mantra includes repetition techniques such as alliteration, symploce, and chiasmus. The meaning of the words in the mantra expresses requests and supplications to the Creator, hoping that the healing ritual will proceed smoothly and produce favorable results.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid and practical media, specifically a rolling ball and question card, for the subject of Pancasila Education in the fourth grade of elementary school. The research type used is Research & Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were the fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 34 Palembang. The validity test results showed an average of 83.52% from subject matter experts, 87.64% from language experts, and 91.26% from media experts, all falling under the "very valid" category. The practicality test results showed an average of 91.00% from a small group trial and 90.30% from teacher feedback, both categorized as "very practical." Therefore, it can be concluded that the rolling ball and question card media for Pancasila Education in the fourth grade at SD Negeri 34 Palembang is valid and practical.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to define the development process, feasibility, and describe students' responses to a mathematics e-module on fractions to support differentiated learning in elementary schools. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Pabuaran, Serang District, involving fifth-grade students as the subjects. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method through the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive data analysis. The analyzed data include the feasibility analysis of the e-module based on questionnaires completed by media experts, content experts, and students' responses to the e-module. The validation results of the e-module showed that the content experts rated it 3.70, categorized as very good, while media experts rated it 3.29, also categorized as very good. Additionally, the language experts gave a rating of 2.75, categorized as good. This e-module has the potential to make a significant contribution to supporting differentiated learning in elementary school, especially in the mathematics subject.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model through the robotics extracurricular program at SDIT Widya Cendekia. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The study involved 18 participants, consisting of one vice principal, two extracurricular teachers, and fifteen students. Data collection tools included interviews and observations, and the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the robotics extracurricular program using the PjBL model was implemented by the extracurricular teachers according to the planned activities and followed the PjBL syntax. During the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model, students were observed to contribute actively, demonstrate skills, creativity, innovation, collaboration, and present their project outcomes.
