Abstract

This research is based on field observations which indicate that low student learning outcomes are caused by a lack of active involvement in the learning process, which is still dominated by a teacher-focused learning approach. Therefore, the aim of this research is to explain the increase in student learning outcomes in Pancasila education lessons using the Example Non Example cooperative model in Class V of SDN 11 Marunggi, Kota Pariaman. This research is included in the category of classroom action research (PTK) with a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research process was carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Data was collected relating to learning outcomes implemented through the Example Non Example Cooperative model. Data collection methods include observational, test and non-test analysis. The research subjects consisted of class teachers in the role of observers, researchers in the role of practitioners, and 21 class V students at SDN 11 Marunggi, Pariaman City. The research results show that the teaching module in cycle I reached a percentage of 85.42% (Good), which increased to 95.83% (Very Good) in cycle II. The implementation of learning by teachers in cycle I showed a percentage of 83.33% (Good) and increased to 95.83% (Very Good) in cycle II. Student learning implementation in cycle I also reached a percentage of 83.33% (Good), which increased to 95.83% (Very Good) in cycle II. Student learning outcomes in cycle I recorded an average of 73.65% (Fair), which then increased to 83.92% (Good) in cycle II. With that, it can be concluded that using the Example NonExample cooperative model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the Pancasila Education subject in Class V SDN 11 Marunggi, Kota Pariaman.

Abstract

Contextual and local wisdom-based physics learning is essential to improve students' understanding and interest. This research connects abstract physics concepts with everyday life and local culture, making the material more relevant and increasing learning motivation. One example of application is the use of dudongean, a traditional clay jepa-making tool, to teach the concept of thermodynamics. This study measured the specific heat of dudongean, which was shown to have an average value of 552 J/kg°C, making it effective for cooking as it allows for even and stable heat distribution. The research method involved laboratory experiments with tools such as a digital balance, calorimeter and infrared thermometer. Results showed consistency in specific heat values, especially in the larger-mass samples, confirming the effectiveness of dudongean in cooking Japanese food. The results showed that the average specific heat of dudongean was 552 J/kg°C, with values ranging from 0.50 x 10³ J/kg°C to 0.59 x 10³ J/kg°C. This research also resulted in the development of a more interactive and contextualized Student Worksheet (LKS) for physics learning, which is expected to increase students' learning motivation, concept understanding, and critical thinking skills. This research confirms the importance of integrating local wisdom in science learning, improving the quality of physics education in Indonesia, and making a significant contribution to cultural preservation and technological innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate teacher performance Catholic junior high schools in Manado using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) Evaluation model. The aspects assessed include the context of the work environment, qualifications, resources, teaching processes, and student learning outcomes. This research method is qualitative with an evaluative descriptive approach, involving principals and teachers as informants. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation and in-depth interviews. The results show that environmental conditions, educational qualifications, work experience, professional training and adequate facilities greatly affect teacher performance. Teachers play an important role in education with the responsibility of planning, implementing and evaluating learning. Teacher performance must be optimal to ensure quality education. Effective classroom management and positive interactions between teachers and students were also found to play an important role in improving student learning outcomes. The conclusion shows that improving teacher performance in Catholic junior high schools in Manado can be achieved by improving the work environment, providing continuous training and adequate facilities.

Abstract

The study is motivated by the low reading ability of first-grade students at MI Al-Futuhat, where 62.5% of the students had not reached the established KKTP (≥70). This study aims to determine the students' initial reading ability before and after applying the ACM method and the learning process with the ACM method in each cycle. The ACM method integrates play, imagination, and creativity through instruments, storytelling, and music. The research uses a mixed-methods approach with the Class Action Research (CAR) method, as well as data collection techniques such as observation, performance tests, and documentation. The results show that before the ACM method's application, the classical accuracy of students' reading ability was only 37.50% ("Poor" category). After the ACM method's application, there was a significant improvement: the average student score increased from 51.56 to 67.97 in cycle I and 79.30 in cycle II. The percentage of classical accuracy increased from 37.50% to 56.25% in cycle I and 81.25% in cycle II. Student and teacher activities also increased in each cycle. With these results, learning was stopped at cycle II because the success indicator had been achieved (≥75%), reflecting the positive impact of the ACM method. This study concludes that the ACM method effectively improves students' initial reading ability and is recommended for application in teaching.

The population in this study comprises all students of SDN 1 Gunungkeling. The sample consists of 30 students selected using simple random sampling. Before the implementation of Market Day, students were given an entrepreneurial spirit questionnaire to measure their level of entrepreneurship. After the activity, students were given the same entrepreneurial spirit questionnaire to evaluate changes. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 27. Prior to conducting the t-test, the data underwent preliminary assessments to ascertain its suitability for the test, specifically normality and homogeneity tests. After the prerequisite tests, the data were analyzed using the paired-samples T-test. This result indicate a statistically significant impact on students’ entrepreneurial spirit of students after participating in the Market Day activity. This activity not only introduces basic entrepreneurial concepts such as planning, production, marketing, and sales but also develops students' soft skills, including teamwork, communication, creativity, and decision-making abilities.

Abstract

The factors causing students' learning difficulties are highly varied, including in mathematics education. Learning difficulties refer to the various challenges or barriers individuals face in the learning process, which can impact their ability to acquire, process, and apply knowledge and skills. Due to their diverse nature, these difficulties affect various aspects of the learning process. This study aims to describe the learning difficulties students face, particularly in mathematics education. The sample for this study comprises 25 students, specifically all students in class VIII-B. The data collection methods include tests, interviews, and documentation as supplementary data. The analysis reveals that 48% of the students fall into the "moderate" category of mathematics learning difficulties, while 40% are categorized as experiencing "difficult" challenges in learning mathematics. Specifically, in the topic of exponentiation, these learning difficulties stem from challenges in mastering and understanding the concepts, particularly in solving mathematical problems, and difficulties in number operations or lacking operational skills, leading to incorrect problem-solving. Interview results further support that students continue to experience significant difficulties in learning mathematics, especially in the topic of exponentiation.

Abstract

Learning processes and daily life are significantly influenced by reasoning ability. Specifically, in mathematics education, reasoning is crucial for students to master. Reasoning plays a vital role in the development of mathematical thinking, serving as a foundation that enables students to delve into and understand general mathematical concepts and to draw conclusions from mathematical problems. By applying a problem-based learning model, students can be assisted in solving mathematical problems related to current issues. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological perspective, aiming to analyze and describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the problem-based learning model. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Utara. The results showed that after the reasoning ability test, student scores varied, with the highest score being 87, the lowest 31, and an average of 63.35, categorized as moderate. The analysis identified several factors affecting students' reasoning abilities, including lack of conceptual understanding, inconsistency in problem identification, lack of precision, and difficulty in finding formulas to solve problems.
