Abstract

Utilization of online learning resources is one alternative to overcome the limitations of conventional learning resources. By utilizing online learning resources, the atmosphere is more interactive and not boring. However, on the one hand, SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari still has limitations in terms of access capacity to learning resources on the Internet. Support for adequate data communication network infrastructure is expected to overcome the problem of access to online resources. By developing a data communication network at SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari, it can overcome obstacles in accessing learning resources and online learning for students and teachers. However, on the other hand, the knowledge and skills of students and teachers need to be improved, so that they can utilize online resources as learning resources and learning materials. The purpose of this community service activity is to optimize the use of data communication networks at SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari by providing internet access points via a wifi network in the SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari environment. This activity also increased the competence of students and teachers in utilizing learning resources and online learning. This activity was able to increase the capacity of internet access, especially in terms of the coverage area of ??wifi network access at SMA Negeri 2 Batang Hari which increased by 80%. In addition, this activity has increased student knowledge by 88% and teachers by 90% in utilizing learning resources and online learning.

Abstract

Rejang Lebong is a regency in Bengkulu Province, located near South Sumatra Province, making it a popular tourist destination for both local and non-local visitors. To support tourism development and enhance the economic value of the community, the Social Forestry program has established Kelompok Perempuan Pemerhati Lingkungan (KPPL), which include KPPL Maju Bersama, KPPL Karya Mandiri, KPPL Sumber Jaya, and KPPL Sejahtera. The purpose of this community service program is to provide training for Kelompok Perempuan Pemerhati Lingkungan (KPPL) on selecting appropriate and economical packaging variations in terms of type and size, ensuring they are marketable to consumers while maximizing profits. Additionally, the program aims to educate KPPL members on selecting and innovating packaging types suitable for post-harvest processed products. The target audience of this community service initiative consists of KPPL members in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. This target group is expected to have the potential to enhance and share knowledge about proper and diverse food packaging, contributing to both food protection and consumer appeal. The methods employed in this program include coordination and socialization, counseling, and demonstrations. Training and education on the types and significance of packaging serve as strategic steps to increase the added value of local products, particularly for MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) actors. By understanding the right packaging types, attractive designs, and their environmental impact, the target audience can maintain product quality in the market. Despite the challenges faced, this training and education initiative is expected to encourage the target audience to be more creative in utilizing packaging as an effective marketing tool.

Abstract

The partner of this community service activity is the mango village, medan tuntungan sub-district. The purpose of this assistance activity is to increase knowledge about the procedures for implementing elections through peaceful communication, increase the sense of unity between residents so that the elections to be held can run orderly and smoothly due to the large amount of information or fake news that makes people become anarchist during the election period. the method of implementing social service activities includes using the socialization method. The participants get a positive and interesting impression, which allows them to understand the importance of non-violent communication for the community and participants during the election period. Every participant who took part in the pendampingan activities on peaceful communication did so with great enthusiasm. Based on the results of observations of the implementation of community service activities in the form of peaceful communication pendampingans, it is recommended that developing collaboration with institutions and organizations to develop this program and expand its impact to the people of North Sumatra.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to increase awareness of clean living behaviors and create a healthy and independent environment as an effort to realize a health care village in achieving the SDGs. This activity is motivated by community problems, namely the low knowledge and awareness of clean and healthy living behaviors in Tanjung Saleh Village and Sakita Village. In fact, there are still many residents who dispose of garbage not at one shelter location, lack of environmental cleanliness, and there is garbage disposal on the coasts. The two villages have also never been touched by the socialization program of higher education thridharma in Morotai Island Regency. Thus, the community service team of the Faculty of Dentistry and Education, University of the Pacific, Morotai carried out community service activities and socialization to increase awareness of clean and healthy living behaviors. The service method uses a participatory approach that involves all teams and partners, namely the Tanjung Saleh and Sakita village communities to jointly discuss, provide solutions to problems, and find concrete solutions to overcome environmental hygiene problems. The stages of this service activity have been carried out by conducting a survey of the location of service, team preparation and consumption needs while in the village. Socialization activities about clean and healthy living behaviors to the community have been carried out with a participatory approach involving all teams and partners, namely the people of Tanjung Saleh and Sakita villages. In general, this service activity ran smoothly, which can be measured from the results of the training evaluation, there was a significant increase in the understanding of villagers. The average pretest score before training was 35, while the average posttest score after training increased to 95. So that the output of this service activity is fulfilled, which means that there is an increase in residents' awareness and knowledge of environmental problems. Another output is the production of articles on Worship to the Community.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, especially Generative AI, opens up new opportunities in the fields of art and creativity, including in digital music production. This community service activity aims to empower people with disabilities through training in the use of Generative AI in the digital music creation process. The partner in this activity is a community of people with disabilities in the city of Palembang, namely the Sharing Disability Indonesia Foundation, who have an interest in music, but are physically and sensorily limited. The implementation method is carried out through a participatory approach with the following stages: technology socialization, training in the use of generative AI platforms such as Suno AI, and assistance in the process of producing digital music works. Evaluation is carried out through interviews and assessments of the quality of the musical works produced by participants. The results of this activity show that participants are able to use Generative AI independently to create original music, and experience increased self-confidence and creative expression. This community service proves that technology can bridge the access gap and become an inclusive tool that supports the empowerment of groups with disabilities in the world of art and technology. AI literacy is an important aspect that must be instilled from an early age, not only for people with disabilities but also the general public, so that they can understand, utilize, and adapt critically and creatively to technological advances. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the participants were in the 68-30% interval, meaning that this community service activity had a positive impact on increasing self-confidence and creativity for people with disabilities.

Abstract

Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are non-communicable diseases with a steadily increasing prevalence, including among adolescents. Lack of knowledge and unhealthy lifestyles are the main risk factors. Based on this, this community service activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Purbalingga regarding both diseases and to conduct health screening as an early detection effort. The method included health education using PowerPoint media, preceded by a pre-test and followed by a post-test to assess knowledge improvement. In addition, random blood glucose tests and blood pressure measurements were carried out as part of the health screening. The results showed a significant increase in students' knowledge after the educational session (p < 0.05), and several students were found to have abnormal blood glucose and blood pressure levels. This activity demonstrated that health education and screening are effective in raising students' awareness of the importance of preventing non-communicable diseases. These findings highlight the need for continuous education and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle from an early age to prevent future complications.

Abstract

Inclusive education seeks to ensure equitable access to quality education for all children, including those with special needs. In practice, numerous educators in inclusive schools in Bekasi City face challenges in recognising and instructing children with hearing impairments. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of training provided to educators in enhancing their ability to identify and teach children with hearing impairments. The employed methodology is qualitative, utilising in-depth interviews, direct observations, and questionnaires. Data were gathered from 50 educators throughout 50 inclusive schools in Bekasi City. The study’s results indicate that the training effectively enhanced teachers’ proficiency in understanding the characteristics of deaf children and applying instructional approaches that utilise visuals, sign language, and auditory technology. The mean enhancement in teachers’ proficiency attained 30–35% across several domains, despite ongoing constraints associated with inadequate facilities and insufficient time for parental engagement. The findings indicate that extensive and continuous training is crucial for creating an improved, inclusive educational environment. It is essential to enhance collaboration among educators, parents, and other stakeholders to elevate the quality of inclusive education in Bekasi City.

Abstract

This community service aims to empower village entrepreneurs and managers of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) to better understand financial management through training on the use of online crowdfunding in the development of village tourism infrastructure. This activity was carried out using a participatory approach through face-to-face training, case studies, and hands-on practice in campaign fundraising. Based on a survey of 20 participants before and after the training, there was a significant increase in understanding of the concept of crowdfunding, with the majority moving from a low level to moderate and high levels after the training. These findings align with recent research highlighting the importance of digital financial literacy and technology utilisation in village development (Rahmawati et al., 2024; Suvero et al., 2023; Zellatifanny & Mudjiyanto, 2024). Although the training successfully enhanced participants' capacity, the activity had limitations in terms of the number of respondents, the short duration of the training, and the absence of a directly implemented crowdfunding campaign. Therefore, the programme recommends ongoing mentoring and multi-stakeholder collaboration to ensure the sustainable use of crowdfunding as a village social finance tool and its direct impact on local tourism development

Abstract

The Livestock Group of Bumdes Kridatama in Gumiwang Village, Purbalingga, is a farming cooperative managing beef cattle and goats. Currently, animal feeding practices rely entirely on manually cut fresh grass without further processing. Field observations and interviews indicate that this method is inefficient, requiring 4 to 5 hours per day for grass cutting, and fails to meet optimal nutritional requirements for livestock due to inconsistent grass size and poor digestibility. To address these challenges, a community service program was conducted to improve the members’ knowledge and skills in using a grass chopping machine, aiming to enhance the efficiency of livestock farming operations. The program involved 15 active members of the Bumdes Kridatama Livestock Group as participants. The implementation methods included socialization on the importance of high-quality feed processing, hands-on training in operating the grass chopping machine, and live demonstrations from chopping to feeding the processed grass to livestock. Following implementation, regular monitoring, evaluation, and mentoring were conducted to ensure sustainability. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in operational efficiency: the average time required for feed preparation decreased from 4.5 hours per day to just 1.1 hours—a reduction of 75.6%. Moreover, the use of finer and more uniform chopped grass improved feed digestibility, leading to a 10–15% increase in livestock weight gain over a three-month period compared to pre-intervention levels. Participants responded positively, with 90% reporting that the machine was easy to operate, and 80% stating that the program helped make their farming activities more efficient and better managed. This initiative demonstrates that the adoption of appropriate technology—specifically, the grass chopping machine—can significantly improve feeding efficiency, enhance animal productivity, and contribute to the sustainable improvement of farmers’ livelihoods.

Abstract

Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Huda Temayang as one of the educational institutions that continues to strive to improve the quality of learning well, one of which is by completing learning facilities such as digital TV in each class, wifi network, sound audio etc. Which is expected to be a support system for digital learning. However, in its use there are obstacles so that learning is not optimal due to the limitations of teachers in compiling digital-based learning media and utilizing YouTube as a means of learning media so that learning is not optimal. Therefore, there is a need for mentoring for teachers at MI Nurul Huda Temayang on the preparation of learning media that utilizes digital technology that integrates the Kodulor platform, word wall, google sites into gamification-based learning media. This activity aims to improve the competence of MI Nurul Huda Temayang teachers in utilizing digital technology to design interactive and interesting learning media, producing gamification-based learning media products that can be used directly in the learning process in the classroom and increasing student motivation and learning participation through the application of more interactive learning media. The results of the mentoring show a significant increase as evidenced by the ability to create digital media. Before mentoring, only 20% of teachers were able to create simple digital media. After the activity, 93% of teachers succeeded in creating at least one gamification-based learning media product using the Kodulor platform, word wall, and Google Sites, while the level of participant satisfaction based on the evaluation questionnaire, 94% of participants stated that they were satisfied with the materials and mentoring methods provided.
