Abstract

Emotion regulation plays a vital role in students' academic success and character development. This study examines emotion regulation strategies from the perspectives of Islamic education and modern psychology, aiming to identify their similarities, differences, and implications for intervention programs. Using qualitative analysis, the research reveals that while both approaches share the objective of enhancing individual well-being, they differ in methods and theoretical foundations. The integration of emotion regulation into educational practices through structured training and intervention programs has been shown to strengthen students' ability to manage their emotions, positively influencing their academic performance and character growth. The findings emphasize the significance of combining Islamic educational values with effective psychological strategies, as well as the necessity of community support in the emotion regulation process. This study offers recommendations for a comprehensive intervention program that not only enriches students' learning experiences but also equips them to navigate life's challenges more effectively. Ultimately, it contributes to a deeper understanding of emotion regulation in education and paves the way for further research in this field.

Abstract

This study explores the contextualization of Pierre Bourdieu’s theoretical framework—particularly the concepts of habitus, capital, and field—in the formation of students’ (santri) character within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia. Amidst the growing discourse on character education and its integration into Islamic institutions, the research addresses the gap in understanding how structural and cultural dimensions influence santri development. The central problem investigated is how Bourdieu’s sociological concepts can be interpreted and applied to strengthen character education in pesantren settings. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, the study draws data from observations, interviews, and documentation in selected pesantren. The findings reveal that character formation in santri is significantly shaped by the interaction between religious-cultural values (habitus), the accumulation of religious and social capital, and the power dynamics within the pesantren environment (field). These elements work collectively to internalize discipline, humility, independence, and spiritual resilience among santri. The study offers theoretical contributions by aligning Western sociological theory with local Islamic educational practices and provides practical insights for pesantren leaders to consciously cultivate positive habitus among students. It concludes that Bourdieu’s framework offers a robust lens for analyzing and enhancing character education in pesantren contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the interactive dialogue method in Islamic education as a strategy to enhance students’ moral awareness. The focus is centered on the reflection and understanding of the hadith "Save yourselves from the fire of hell", which emphasizes individual responsibility in moral and spiritual development. The research employs a literature review method, examining a range of scholarly sources that explore both the theoretical and practical aspects of interactive dialogue in the context of Islamic educational practices. The concept of interactive dialogue is explored as a means to create a dynamic and participatory learning environment, where students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and reflect on their values and behavior in light of Islamic teachings. Findings from the literature reveal that this method is highly effective in helping students gain a deeper comprehension of religious texts, especially hadith, by relating them to real-life moral challenges. Techniques such as open-ended discussions, contextual case studies, and guided self-reflection activities contribute to more meaningful learning experiences. These approaches not only enhance students’ cognitive engagement but also promote the internalization of Islamic values, encouraging the formation of strong moral character. In conclusion, the interactive dialogue method serves as a valuable educational tool that supports both intellectual and ethical development, making Islamic teachings more relevant and impactful in students’ everyday lives.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology in the digital era presents significant challenges in shaping the character of Generation Z, especially in instilling the values of akhlakul karimah (noble character). This generation is highly familiar with digital tools but often faces moral crises due to media influence and weak environmental supervision. This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teacher in instilling akhlakul karimah values among Generation Z students at MTs Sunan Ampel Menampu, Jember Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that PAI teachers apply several key strategies, including exemplary conduct (uswah hasanah), habituation of religious activities, advice and motivation (mau’idzah), a fair reward and punishment system, and strong collaboration with students’ parents. These strategies are implemented both in classroom learning and through scheduled religious program supported by the integration of technological media. Despite challenges such as students’ lack of discipline and external negative influences, teachers consistently guide students using persuasive approaches and continuous character development. The study reveals a positive transformation in students’ behavior, such as increased discipline, respect, and responsibility, especially in religious and social contexts. In conclusion, the adaptive and collaborative strategies of PAI teachers play a vital role in nurturing Islamic character among Generasi Z. The success off character education rooted in akhlakul karimah depends on strong synergy between schools, families, and the broader community to ensure sustainable and effective moral development in the digital age.

Abstract

Currently, the world of education has various problems, one of which is the learning process, especially the monotonous Arabic language subject. This makes students less interested in the learning process. So that in the learning process requires new innovations such as the use of learning media that attract students' attention and also make it easier for students to learn Arabic. One suitable learning media is a digital dictionary that contains vocabulary in Arabic language textbooks. Therefore, this study aims to develop learning media in the form of a digital dictionary "hubbabah" to facilitate Arabic language learning. In the research process, researchers used the development method (R&D) with the 4-D model (definition, design, develop, disseminate). This digital dictionary is expected to be interesting and useful for students, and can be accessed at any time. Based on expert validation, this media is declared very valid with minor revisions. The results of the study showed an increase in student learning motivation, with an average questionnaire reaching 81% while the average student pretest score of 27% increased to 86.29% in the post-test. The level of student satisfaction with this digital dictionary reached 82%. Thus, the digital dictionary “Hubbabah” has proven to be effective in improving students’ motivation and learning outcomes in Arabic.

Abstract

This study explores management transformation at Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) through a Pondok Pesantren Syaikh Zainuddin NW Bintan case study. The research addresses the urgent need for pesantren to adapt to contemporary educational demands while preserving their traditional identity. Previous studies have highlighted the challenges of integrating classical Islamic education with modern curricula. However, few have examined comprehensive management transformations, including curriculum development, leadership restructuring, and internal quality assurance systems. This study aims to fill that gap by analyzing how pesantren management adapts to these challenges. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with foundation leaders, school principals, teachers, and caregivers, direct observations, and document analysis. Findings reveal three key transformations: first, the integration of the traditional Salafiyah curriculum with the national curriculum and 21st-century competencies; second, a leadership shift from a centralistic to a decentralized model that empowers institutional units; and third, the establishment of a Quality Assurance Team (TPMPP) to ensure sustainable institutional development. These changes indicate a significant movement toward modern, participatory, and quality-oriented pesantren governance. The implications of this study highlight the need for pesantren to balance tradition with innovation to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.

Abstract

Al Miftah Biro Islamic Boarding School has taken significant steps in responding to the demands of globalization through technology-based educational innovation, especially by establishing a multimedia training center. This study aims to explore how the implementation of a multimedia training center can improve the quality of alumni of Islamic boarding schools in facing the challenges of an increasingly digital world of work. The approach used in this study is qualitative with a case study at Al Miftah Biro Islamic Boarding School, which identifies adaptive Islamic education management in managing a multimedia training center. This training program aims to develop technical skills, such as graphic design, video editing, and digital content management, accompanied by character formation based on Islamic values. The results of the study indicate that with careful planning and implementation, the multimedia training center is able to improve the technical skills and competitiveness of alumni in the professional world. In addition, evaluations from training participants showed an increase in collaboration, creativity, and readiness to work in the multimedia industry. These findings prove that the integration of technology in Islamic education not only enriches the curriculum but also provides opportunities for students to adapt to developments in the era and achieve success in an increasingly digital-based world of work

Abstract

The pervasive use of social media among adolescents has created an urgent need for digital ethics education to mitigate negative behaviors like cyberbullying, hate speech, and the spread of misinformation. While previous studies have highlighted the importance of digital ethics, a significant gap remains in developing pedagogical strategies that are specifically tailored to the digital-native characteristics of today's students and that move beyond theoretical instruction to practical, value-internalizing methods. This research addresses that gap by investigating the application of digital ethical values through the subject of Social Media Manners, utilizing contextual learning methods video screenings and card sort designed to resonate with contemporary learners. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, data were gathered via observation, interviews, and documentation involving Akidah Akhlak teachers and 23 eighth-grade students at MTs Roudlotusysyubban. The results demonstrate that the integration of these methods positively impacts students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Findings indicate heightened awareness in information filtering, the use of more polite language, and proactive sharing of positive content. Video screenings proved effective in providing visual and emotional stimuli for internalizing etiquette values, while the card sort method fostered active participation and critical thinking. This study concludes that contextual learning in Akidah Akhlak is a strategic and effective means of strengthening students' digital character in the current era

Abstract

Education is a planned process to optimally develop the potential of students, with the family serving as the primary and main educational environment responsible for supporting a child's success. Parental guidance is defined as the activity of parents accompanying or assisting their children, especially in the learning process, reflecting their attention and care for the child's academic development. Student learning achievement is the result achieved by students in learning activities, measured through academic scores or certain achievements, which serves as an indicator of educational success. This study aims to analyze the influence of parental guidance on student achievement at SD Patra Dharma 3 Balikpapan. This research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative methods to determine statistical relationships and qualitative methods to deepen the understanding of the phenomenon. A total of 36 sixth-grade students (6A and 6B) at SD Patra Dharma 3 Balikpapan served as research respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires to measure the level of parental guidance and student learning achievement, as well as interviews and observations to gather in-depth information. Quantitative data were analyzed using regression analysis, while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The research results indicate a significant influence between parental guidance and student learning achievement, but the direction of this relationship is negative. This means that an increase in the intensity of parental guidance does not always correlate with an increase in academic achievement. These findings highlight the importance of internal factors such as self-motivation, learning independence, and values instilled within the family as primary determinants of academic success. Therefore, parental guidance strategies need to be adapted to the individual characteristics and needs of students, and oriented towards strengthening motivation and independence in learning. Academic success is not solely determined by the intensity of parental guidance, but also by strong motivation and self-reliance values instilled early in the family.

Abstract

This study investigates the character education values contained in Ngudi Susilo, a poetic work by KH. Bisri Mustofa, and examines their relevance in the context of modern education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, this study explores the moral teachings embedded in the text and their significance for contemporary character formation. The findings reveal nineteen character values reflected in the verses, including religiosity, responsibility, humility, discipline, patience, self-awareness, contentment (qona’ah), politeness, justice, compassion, love of peace, diligence, obedience, enthusiasm, love of reading, respect for parents (ta’dzim), remembrance of God (dzikir), patriotism, and civility. These values are conveyed through simple yet profound poetic expressions written in Arabic Pegon script and Javanese language, aiming to internalize noble moral behavior. The study highlights that these values remain highly relevant to the moral and ethical challenges faced in modern society, which often emphasizes intellectual achievement over moral development. Integrating these character values within modern education can balance cognitive advancement with emotional and spiritual maturity. Thus, Ngudi Susilo provides a timeless and contextually adaptable framework for strengthening moral education, promoting holistic character development, and fostering a generation that is intellectually competent, spiritually grounded, and socially responsible.
