Abstract

Hate speech and hoaxes have become significant problems in the current era of democracy and digitalization. Advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), especially social media, have facilitated the rapid and widespread spread of hoaxes and hate speech in Indonesia. The main problem in dealing with hoaxes is the lack of critical thinking about the information received. Therefore, prevention of hoaxes through education is important. Education can help people detect hoax news and reduce its spread. To conduct this education, the research method used is socialization and education at MAS Muhammadiyah Bayongbong school, especially at the high school level. This activity involved students, partners, and participants. The stages of the activity include surveys, delivery of material on hoaxes and education, and practice using ICT. This activity showed that some participants experienced an increase in knowledge after participating in the socialization. However, there were some difficulties in answering the test questions given. In addition, analysis of the average score of the questions showed an increase from pre-test to post-test. However, there are some materials that are still an obstacle for participants in understanding them.

Abstract

Dusun VI Sungai Pinang, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, there is a PKK mothers' association that is part of the Health care mothers. PKK mothers do not yet understand stunting prevention. The stunting data collection process is still done manually by recording in notebooks and sometimes the notes used are lost. Ekriting (electronic stunting screening) and soya bean honey are solutions in preventing stunting. Ekriting is a media that can be used by PKK mothers to screen toddler growth and development (TB and BB). Preventing stunting is important by providing nutrition for 1000 days of life and providing proper nutrition to pregnant women. One of the nutrients that can be easily obtained is honey and soybeans. The sampling method uses total sampling, meaning taking all PKK mothers who are part of the Health care mothers. The results of this Community Service activity are that most cadres (80%) know about stunting prevention with adequate nutrition and cadres know about stunting screening using the application. The assessment uses a questionnaire found in the stunting prevention application. Conclusion There is an Increase in the Role of Cadres Through the Introduction of E-Kriting and Making Soya Bean Honey in Stunting Screening and Prevention Efforts.

Abstract

Knowledge and preparedness in facing natural disasters is very important, especially for students who are in disaster-prone areas such as the coastal area of Kenjeran, Surabaya. Based on interviews with the principal and teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Surabaya, it is known that the low understanding of students and teachers about disaster mitigation triggers feelings of anxiety and fear about potential disasters that could occur at any time. To overcome this problem, this research implemented Virtual Reality (VR) technology as a medium for disaster mitigation education at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Kenjeran. VR technology was chosen because of its ability to provide a simulation experience that is close to real situations, so it is hoped that it can increase students' and teachers' understanding and resilience in facing crises. This service aims to provide counseling and outreach to teachers and students with VR learning media at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Kenjeran Surabaya. The approach to solving partner problems is to focus on students' understanding of disaster mitigation with VR-based education and the impact of post-disaster psychological problems. The research results show an increase in students' understanding of disaster mitigation measures, as well as an increase in self-confidence in facing disaster threats after implementing VR. Another positive impact is a reduction in students' anxiety and fear levels, which shows that VR-based simulations are effective in preparing students to face emergency situations. The conclusion is that the use of VR technology as a medium for disaster mitigation education can be an effective alternative for increasing students' readiness in facing disasters in coastal areas.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the level of HB or hemoglobin in the blood is less than the normal standard. Based on the 2018 Riskesdas data, the prevalence of anemia in women aged ≥15 years (adolescent girls) was 41.6% while the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women was 48.9%. This figure has increased from 31% in 2013. Adolescent girls who suffer from anemia are at risk of anemia during pregnancy which will potentially increase stunting rates. The impact of anemia on adolescent girls is stunted growth, easily infected, decreased academic achievement, becoming a high-risk prospective mother for pregnancy and childbirth. Anemia that occurs in women of childbearing age is a challenge in the field of reproductive health nutrition. With the development of technology in this day and age, it is certainly unfortunate if it is not used to provide positive values to the community. Therefore, the development of the AnemiaGo application for early detection of anemia is very important. This is done to increase public awareness about anemia and reduce the incidence of anemia early. The method used in this community service is planning and implementing activities consisting of introductions, counseling by providing education and training, giving Blood Additive Tablets (TTD) and assessing by giving pretest and posttest questionnaires. The results obtained from this activity are an increase in knowledge and attitudes in adolescents and WUS.

Abstract

A rock description training has been conducted at SMK Negeri 6 Kendari to enhance fundamental petrology knowledge and descriptive skills among students in the Mining Geology program. This training involved 47 senior-level students and was implemented through several stages, including preparation, material presentation, rock description practicum, and outcome evaluation via written exam and analytical rubric assessment. The training comprised theoretical and practical sessions focused on the description of three rock groups (igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic) using hand specimens and thin sections. The analysis demonstrates a significant enhancement in students' comprehension, as reflected in the increase in the average post-test score to 62.02, compared to the pre-test score of 45.74. An improvement in descriptive skills was also evident based on the evaluation rubric, with a greater number of students achieving the "Intermediate" proficiency level, characterized by scores exceeding 39, following the training. Statistical analysis using a paired t-test revealed a p-value <0.05, with the t-statistic substantially exceeding the critical threshold, affirming that the training had a significant impact on improving students’ knowledge and descriptive competencies in rock examination. It is recommended that future training programs focus on advanced modules, particularly those emphasizing rock interpretation, to further enhance students’ proficiency in rock description.
