Abstract

Early marriage can increase the risk of stunting in children, as physically and mentally unprepared mothers are often unable to provide adequate nutrition over a long period of time. This results in impaired growth in children, resulting in shorter height than their age standard. Therefore, the importance of education for adolescents is crucial to delay early marriage and ensure optimal health and development for future generations. The purpose of this community service activity is to develop women's insights and skills so that they have critical awareness, solidarity, care, skills, and are committed to becoming actors of social change to avoid household problems. The stages of implementing activities in Windurejo Village are organized systematically consisting of planning, implementation, and follow-up reporting. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge about the dangers of early marriage, the risk of stunting, and the importance of education as a solution. The increase in knowledge was measured through pre-test and post-test which showed an average increase in scores of 30%. Indicators of the success of the activity include the participants' increased understanding of the material presented, active involvement in discussions, and their ability to develop an action plan that reflects their commitment to social change.

Abstract

Blind people are one of the disabled groups who have limited vision, who require the help of other people or certain tools to carry out daily activities. So far, the blind has used canes to help them when walking, but the canes they usually use are not helpful enough. For this reason, it is necessary to implement an innovative smart cane with smartphone-based sensors for the blind. The implementation method was to carry out empowerment with a participatory approach, by implementing the smart cane innovation tool for the blind. The smart cane was equipped with sensors, light reflectors, GPS (Global Positioning System) navigation and an emergency button. The sensor functions to helps identify surrounding objects, making it easier for the blind to walk without worrying about tripping or being blocked by objects while walking. Light reflectors provide additional security by reflecting light when walking at night. The implementation of the smart cane was very helpful and made it easier for the blind to make their activities safer and more comfortable. Smart cane one of the innovative solutions that need to continue to be developed to help disabled groups, especially the blind, so that they have equal access to other people.

Abstract

Mount Semeru as one of the highest mountains on the Java island has significant volcanic activity to date. The eruption of this volcano had a considerable impact on the surrounding area, including Sumberwuluh Village, Candipuro District, Lumajang Regency. Abstract

The aging population phenomenon that will occur in 2030-2050 will cause a shift in the elderly population with a dependency ratio that continues to increase. When someone reaches old age, they will face the peak of the human life cycle. The increasing number of older people will also cause various problems such as technical, medical, psychological, mental, and socio-economic problems. The various problems that arise if not managed properly will have an impact on the elderly, namely physical changes in the elderly, causing them to feel unable to do various activities as well as when they were young. This causes the elderly to become then demotivated and withdraw from the social environment. This condition requires special attention. These problems can reduce life expectancy in the elderly. The form of community empowerment for the elderly is the Healthy and Independent Elderly Movement (GLSM) through Healthy Home Service as a form of UKBM (Community-Based Health Efforts). Healthy Home Service provides services in the form of health education services, elderly cadre training, modality therapy, and telenursing services, as well as SIM-RS (Hospital Management Information System), which facilitates online-based health services and also accommodates a database that records data on the number of elderly diseases. The results of the activities obtained were an increase in the knowledge and attitudes of the elderly regarding achieving optimal quality of life by 96.66%. The knowledge and understanding of the elderly increased, in addition to an increase in the productivity of elderly companion cadres, along with the structure and main tasks for elderly companion cadres by 100%. Abstract

The community service program aimed to enhance the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Garut Regency through the implementation of digital wallet technology. Addressing the challenges of market access and financial management faced by MSMEs, the program developed an application called MitraREID. This application was designed to assist MSMEs in managing transactions, recording expenses, generating financial reports, and optimizing product management. The implementation process included socialization, intensive training, application deployment, and technical assistance involving the UMKM community, Mikromega, in Garut. The results indicated a significant improvement in the MSMEs' ability to utilize digital technology for daily operations. The MitraREID application facilitated business management, enhanced transaction efficiency, and allowed MSMEs to structure their financial management more effectively. The program's impact was quantitatively measured by pre- and post-test scores, which showed an increase from an average of 79/100 before training to 99/100 after training. This significant improvement demonstrated the enhanced digital skills and understanding of participants in utilizing digital wallet technology to support their business operations, enabling them to compete more effectively in local and national markets.

Abstract

Batik is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages that we must preserve. Almost all regions in Indonesia have their own distinctive batik motifs that are different from each other. Currently, there are around 5,849 batik motifs in Indonesia spread from Aceh to Papua. Banyuwangi, as a destination that has various types of tourism, has twelve typical batik motifs that represent Banyuwangi culture itself. The variety of batik motifs in Banyuwangi has motivated Tambong Village to have batik with motifs that can represent their region and also be something to buy for visitors who travel to the area. However, this desire is hampered by the lack of a distinctive motif. To overcome this problem, this community service activity provides a solution that is expected to be able to solve partner problems. One of the solutions is the creation of a batik motif that is able to represent Tambong village as one of the Ijen Geoparks, named Batik Watu Rejeng.

Abstract

In 2011, Karangbendo Village in Rogojampi Subdistrict, Banyuwangi Regency, had a population of 6,891 residents spread across five hamlets. However, the village government still lacks a comprehensive and real-time digital database, which has hindered decision-making, particularly in distributing social aid. Data collection is still conducted manually using paper forms and the Dasawisma application, which is considered inefficient, making it difficult for officials to access up-to-date and accurate information. To address this, a web-based population system is being developed to enable digital storage and access, with training for village officials and volunteers to begin data input in July 2024. The project will be implemented in stages, starting with the data input feature, followed by training to reduce errors. After data input, additional training will focus on maximizing the system's features, and progress will be measured by the amount of data successfully entered. The web-based system has now been completed, and training for Dasawisma volunteers and village officials has taken place. System evaluation shows an user acceptance rate 4.13 of 5, with a goal of completing 60% of the population data by December 2024.
